Caleb Williams climbs, Aaron Rodgers falls, Is Patrick Mahomes on top of Mahomes Mountain? | FTF
www.youtube.com/@FirstThingsFirst
Well, hello there. Believe it or not, we are still on the mountain. This is one of the more luxurious offshoots near the summit. Patrick Mahomes was on a buy, so taking it easy. So, that begs the question, who will be at top of this week’s edition of Mahomes Mountain? I don’t know. We’re trying what what had you written out there in the logs? Okay. So, I I have a confession to make. Okay. That wasn’t real. But that was you. That was me. Uhhuh. You weren’t really on a mountain. No, I wasn’t on a mountain. It was supposed to say it’s the Who cares? If you’re explaining, you’re losing. That’s what they always say. I’m confused by a lot. Chiefs are on a buy. Yeah, but it’s not tears. So, like by weekend. I It was I don’t I don’t totally understand. Also, is that the ocean? It looks very pretty. So, is the idea that the mountain is behind us? It looks like a but Patrick Mahomes because he’s on a buy is on the beach. Looks like this will be the last time we’re doing the AI. Well, yet again, AI focus on vacuuming time. All right, listen. Now that we’re past the midway point of the season, you know what? But I’m I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s realized this week in week out. Not enough good quarterbacks. Sometimes it’s because of injury. Sometimes it’s because of youth. Sometimes it’s because of Bon Knicks, but there’s not enough good quarterbacks. So, a lot of guys are off the mountain, which has led to some sad vacancies on the mountain. Let’s show you who’s off the mountain. Burrow, Perie, Kyler, and Jaden all off due to injury. Justin Fields is off due to completing six passes. Michael Penn is off due to him playing a standalone national TV game. Bryce Bryce is his first week off. Uh not his first week off, but he’s off. Gino, we again did him no favors. The 10-7 game on national TV. JJ McCarthy, he’s off as is his alter eagle nine. I wouldn’t have debuted that one yet, Chief. Um Dylan Gabriel is off. These guys can’t all be off. They have. It’s just this KW. They have to be off. How many guys are off? Have to leave. I’m telling you, they have to be off because here’s guys, I had tried. Listen, Bo Knicks and Trevor still on. Put some guys on. I No, I got No, I’ve never lived that down. I put college guys on before. I’m tethered to them like an anchor. Marcus Mariota’s back up. Jackson Dart got knocked out of the game, kept his spot. Jacobe Brassette dropping the ball left and right. Kept his spot. You think I want to put Tyler Shuck and Davis Mills? Davis Mills on the mountain. I had no choice. Mills. But with that said, but this is I don’t love the off row off area. I don’t love seventh row. Sixth row, we start to get good, which is why there’s vacancies. Oh god. That has to be Jordan Love. K Brew, we we might have a problem. Aaron Rogers. Yeah. Doesn’t want to get hit. Certainly doesn’t want to climb the mountain. Tua, good for you, buddy. Sure. Couple couple picks. One of them I didn’t care about at all. Third and 11. Threw a deep fine. The other one not great. Still I guys, this is how bad it is. CJ Straw didn’t play. It’s like, you know what? Say where he is. He’s going to be back. He’s no injury. All right. But now, now top 15 is where we get good. So it’s it’s the bad the bottom of the league’s bad. Mid part’s not great, but now we get good. Dak drop a bit just because people moved up around. Caleb clutch for the second straight week backto back touchdown drives to win the game. Joe Flacco week to rest and now he’s like, “Man, Joe, bro, I hope your toe feels better to hold my clipboard, buddy.” Um, M. Jones is just cooking. Like this says M. Jones on it. Well, oh yeah, it does. It does say Mac. Jones. I don’t mean it to, but it does. M. Jones is out there cooking. Daniel Jones, you know, through the first three years of his career, he averaged more fumbles per game than any player in the history of the league. The last couple weeks, it’s come back a bit, but Jonathan Taylor’s made it not matter. There it is. Now to the top 10. Don’t get mad at me, KW. I don’t know. Do about your guy Jaylen Herz. I’m not I they they they they just don’t have a sustainable offense week to week and they do for a week but then they don’t it’s weird. Come playoff time we’ll be good. Justin Herbert I thought played a great game um Sunday night and deserves credit for it and I you know I know the Herbert truthers would tell us that’s what he’s going to be the rest of the year. I’m excited to see it. Jared Goff with Dan Campbell whisper in his ear the plays throw it to throw it to Jir Gibbs. Throw it to Jameson Williams. Worked really well. And Baker despite when did this show become such an anti-Baker show? Coaches like he’s doing a coup d’et and Todd BS bruise like they’re a cute little team. That was Baker playing great. That was harsher than I expected, I got to tell you. All right, now the interesting part. Top six. Josh Allen’s got a drop. Yeah, fair is fair. The turnovers a terrible loss. I expected Brew Lamar to move up going into this weekend. I I thought that if someone moved down, Lamar would move up, but he didn’t he didn’t play poorly, but he hasn’t he hasn’t played great yet since I know his first game back he had four touchdowns. He was which is where how he got where he was, but this past weekend in Minnesota was fine. Sam Darnold moves up. That team is just a juggernaut and he’s been excellent. Top two rows, second row. Wow. It’s rare you get to move up in a by-week, but Josh Allen moves down. Lamar doesn’t do much. Darnell moved up. Jaylen Herz didn’t. Jaylen Herz does scores seven points. Good to have the mountain named after you, I guess. Patrick Mahomes moves up. Drake May stays where he is. And at top of the mountain for the second straight week, it’s been a while since we’ve had the same guy on the mountain back-to-back weeks. Really, other than Patrick, um Matt Stafford. Matt Stafford, who is having close to a perfect season so far. Not not a perfect season, but close to a perfect season. And if it were voted on today, I think would get 80% of first place MVP votes. He remains a top Mahomes Mountain. Coach Mountain, that is a wild mountain. I know to go with a wild. First of all, you should put Bryce Young back on the mountain. I I don’t like that at all. But the fact that you got Flaco, M. Jones, and Daniel Jones above Jordan Love, Aaron Rogers, Tua Strad, like who would ever think going into the season that would be the case. So that that’s really interesting. But where where I’m going to focus is is the top of the mountain. And and it it’s obvious that Patrick Mahomes should be down with the other former MVPs. He was last week. He’s that’s exactly where he should be again. and Sam Darnold should move up and and and let’s just I know it’s a rich tapestry so I want to make sure that I integrated all the elements. So let’s just look at the last game each of these two guys play. Oh that’s unfair. Is it is it I mean it’s one guy’s bet the guy up with a 44.1 completion percentage. Hold on. That’s incorrect. That’s incorrect. You left him alone. No, no, no. I dropped him after that game. They were on a bias. Well, guess what? Drop him further because that’s terrible. And the other guy played pretty well. Well, now he didn’t have a lot of completions. He didn’t need to. They scored 44 points. But here’s the last game they played. And you’re probably saying, “Well, Buffalo, they’re pretty good defensively.” Well, then two went and ate him up this week. So, I guess maybe they’re not that good defensively. Even though they even though they smoked Patrick Mahomes, but okay, it’s a rich tapestry. Let’s look at the last five games between these two guys. Oh my. Okay, here we go. Oh, four and one, three and two, 71.9, 67.2. Go right on down the line and Sam Darnold’s played better. I get it. the mountains named after him, but put them with the other former MVPs who are struggling at this point. And you can call that like, you know, whatever. Give it some cute name that you guys make up in the back room. No, that’s the committee. But we don’t have names. Ro Mahomes down with Alan Lamar. They’re all struggling in their own separate way. And Drake May gets graded up because he’s young and he’s having a great season and he’s the flavor is great. Exactly. And so is Sam Darnold right now. He’s great. I moved him up. Yeah. move him up to where he belong. Do you know how hard it is to move up two rows in one week? Everybody knows that. Just put him down with the other former MVPs and they can all have a name. They can cook marshmallows. It is a rich tapestry, but everybody knows about Mahomes Mountain. While it is easy to drop multiple rows in a week, it is much like climbing a mountain. You could climb for hours and then slip for a second. You’ll down. Yeah, definitely. But you can’t all of a sudden Right. Hold on. But you can’t all of a sudden jump rose. No, you left you left down with Mahomes. Mahomes was on the top of the mountain after that game with Buffalo. He slipped from the very top to the third row. That’s what happened. Sam Darnold was in the fourth row, had this great week, moved up to the third row. Somebody from row three needed to move up to row two. It couldn’t have been Jaylen Herz after that game. No, it couldn’t have been Lamar Patrick. Well, the golf was on row five. This is the worst logic to defending Patrick Mah. Have you ever climbed any? I’m with you. What do you mean? Yes. I’ve climbed several restaurants to get buffet. I’m with you on that one. And you hinted a little bit at where I’m going. Now, I said earlier JLo’s been struggling. Oh, no. But JLo is too low. All right. You move them up for this. All five of the of you look at all five of the quarterbacks on the row ahead of JLo, Dak, Caleb, Flaco, M Jones. Yeah, he JLo has a better passer rating than all of them. He’s eighth in the league in passer rating. JLo has the second fewest inter or had fewer interceptions than all of them. In fact, all of them except Caleb have twice as many interceptions as JLo. That’s JLo’s got three. The Caleb’s got four. The rest of them have at least six. All right. So JLo, I know he struck the last two weeks. Okay, then that’s But hold on. Oh, really? Cuz Andrew, Daniel Jones has seven turnovers in the last two weeks. How’s he still ahead of JLo? Joe Flacco had two interceptions in his last game. They scored 40. Dak Prescott has one touchdown and three interceptions in his last two games. So, I’m just saying everybody’s they’re all struggling. And Nick, this is a stat I know you love. Yards per attempt. Of the five guys ahead of JLo, including him, he has the second best yards per attempt of any of those six. So, JLo is too low. Okay, I rest my case. Are any of their five coaches potentially getting fired because of their performance this year? Cuz that’s what JLo’s coaches say. That’s on that’s on the floor. If that’s the case, the quarterbacks in the row above thrown a touchdown in the last two weeks. Yeah. Daniel, how many seven turnovers Wilds? Seven pro at least. But Daniel Jones, listen, he was awful in the Steeler game. He was not awful in the Berlin game. He wasn’t very good. He was not awful. And they JLo wasn’t awful. When When was JLo awful last night? They scored seven points. That’s a team. I’m not saying he was good. I’m just saying he wasn’t awful. I think he wasn’t Patrick Mahomes awful versus the Buffalo Bills. He wasn’t. He He completed more than 44. He wasn’t that fast. That’s fair. That’s kind of a little It’s not It’s not fair. The offense scored seven points. They got points off the board because he fumbled in the scoring zone. They They couldn’t pick up a What? I just told you Daniel Jones has seven turnovers the last He had two turnovers his last game, five the week before. I understand. I get it. I’m not saying JLo played well. I’m just saying there are a lot of guys that played well. I know he is your MVP pick. This is not the week to defend JLo. Yeah, I like that. No, he should move up. That’s all I’m saying. To the next row. KW, I don’t know what you’re doing. I intentionally didn’t look at it. If this is a Drake May thing, of course it is. I’m gonna be very disappointed. It’s kind of a Drake May thing. Gosh darn it. But I’m not talking about Drake. Can some Can I’m not talking about Drake. Can someone on Wii please just book a weekly spot with talking about Drake May? Go ahead. Okay. I am talking about Josh Allen. Okay, great. Do I want Josh Allen to move down? Not necessarily further. No, because I I don’t know who to move up. Maybe golf. Herbert. Nah, I’m not really a Herbert guy. I’m more of a golf guy. Just I based on recent I I put a lot of emphasis on recency of on the mountain. That’s why I like to things can I like to I like a more volatile mountain. Josh has got a lot of reputational momentum. I see it when I see the Bills power rankings, when we have to name the top quarterbacks. when you watch Get Up in the Morning. I’m just saying there’s a lot of reputational momentum there. I get it. The guy has been great. He’s the reigning MVP. Here are the ranks this year. No funny business, just straight up. They’re six and three. That’s eight. That’s not good. He’s lost three of his last five games. Passing yards, 13th. Little bit funky because he’s had some games where he hasn’t had to do a lot. Touchdown interceptions. I do think he wanted to throw the ball. 15 touchdowns. Five interceptions. That’s 15th passer rating seventh best. Fine. But I don’t think we all have to continue to genulect at the altra of the reigning MVP. The other thing is let’s look from last year’s uh first nine games to this year. And last year wasn’t like an amazing statistical season. He had four turnovers. This year he has seven. Sacked 11 times. This year’s 20. He was 3 and0 the division. Now he’s 2-2. I’m not saying necessarily move him down. Maybe flop him with golf. But I would just like to have people deal with the Josh Allen that we’re currently seeing and not the one that people are used to seeing. This also been an early shot at Danny Parkin Top 10 Tuesdays that I know. Well, I’ll let Danny deal with that in an hour. I have a question for you KW because let me first say this. I appreciate that. That is in the spirit of the mountain. It is well researched. It threw the audience like, “Oh, I didn’t expect him to do that.” So, I liked it. So, now I’ll give you an opportunity to do what I think you really want to do. Up to this point in the season, who has been the best quarterback in the AFC East? It’s not I’m not I don’t I I’m just asking a question. I don’t even feel like I need to answer that. I think you do. Oh, who’s taller? You know, Wii or Valentunis? Just look at it. That’s it. It is obvious. We’ve played head-to-head and we are better. One person completes more more passes to the other guy’s old uh wide receivers. So, I just I don’t have a bunch of stats ready. No, I wasn’t stats ready. I was I was trying to say I think I obvious that this right I that Drake May has outplayed Josh Allen this year this year. I agree with you. Which leads me to my bigger question which you don’t have to answer right now, but I think is an interesting one. moving forward. Who do we think the best quarterback in the AFC East is going to be? I think it’s an open question. I know coaches are gonna say I’m too far ahead of it. I think that is is an open question. As as Drake May said after the game, I’m just worried about Thursday right now, but I appreciate the question. Yeah, that’s because he has a game to prep for. Your job is to give opinions. No, I’m totally focused on Thursday. I’m locked in on that. Okay, great job, KW. Who do we play after that? Not even sure. Probably someone terrible. Yeah, of course. All I’m worried about is Thursday. Thanks for watching. Subscribe here to get more from the show and to check out clips from other shows on FS1.

I love coach… always keeping it real.
Coach doesn’t have any bits and doesn’t do all the “silly” stuff the rest of them do but he’s still so funny I don’t get how
coach was not having the mahomes glaze anymore thank god
Mahomes-Mountain is always soooo funny….🤣
As a patriots fan, Wildes annoys me with his bills and Allen takes lol
Love when coach is on the program
WWWWWWAAAAIIIIIIITTTT! I thought QBs did not move down during a bye. Moving Dak down because it is convenient is rough
How many mountains are you guys going to do? Take some tips from Dan Lebatard and be more innovative and unpredictable with the show. Nick is a fun guy, but come on????
12:10 "He wasn't Patrick Mahomes awful against the Buffalo Bills."😂 Thank you coach for that excellent example! Nick acted like he didn't hear you
"Yea, put him back" by coach made me cackle.
COACH NAILED it!!!!! hahahaha Mahomes moving up after a 44% pass LOLOL Nick you DUCK as always
KW knows move GOFF up son, hes 1st and 2nd in every QB stat
Lamar has hardly played lol
How is Lamar and Darnold higher than Goff? Goff has 3 more tds and 3 less ints. And Lamar has been hurt
I will continue to downvote this segment every time until you stop using AI
7:28 Coach when comparing Darnold and Mahomes: “Let’s take a look at their last 2 games.”
Nick: “Well that’s not fair!”
…it’s is literally the whole point of the segment.
As usual, he keeps Mahomes in the top 3 so as soon as Stafford loses, he can put him back on top. Who is actually #1 according to the NFL? Going by QBR, that would be Sam Darnold who is ranked 5th through 7th. This is based on who Nick Wright believes who should be #1, and thank goodness he does not have a vote ever in the NFL MVP vote every year as he would put Mahomes on the ballot every year no matter how good or bad he is, or how bad his team's record is (nothing to write home about in third place in the division at 5-4 and in the 7th and last playoff spot right now). Just look at his ranking of the NFL teams tomorrow, he will put the Chiefs near the top as well despite the fact they have trouble beating teams like Jacksonville (oh, that is right, they lost to them) who are also 5-4.
Mills mountain!
I’m putting the A.I. on the Bud List!!
I don't like everyone jumping on the RamWagon. That's how we won it all. Every one was kissing up to Brady and Mahomes and we flew under the radar
Caleb??? 😂😂😂
As a Giants fan, I watched the game with Bears fans…not only did we all believe Dart out played Caleb but they felt better about his future.
Brou only wants J Lo to move up because that’s his MVP candidate😂
Brou ALWAYS speaks up for ✌🏽 teams!!!
Ravens 🐦⬛ & you guessed it Packers🧀
That’s pretty much it🤣😆😂
Herbert beats the Steelers Defense on prime time with 220 yards and a TD with LITERALLY the WORST PFF graded OL in the NFL??? And He's down? And Mahomes is up? This is dumb
I wish this show was longer than 16 minutes?
