KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Head Coach Matt Zedrick has announced the signing of two players to the Western Michigan golf program on Wednesday.
“We are very excited to have Annie and Katie joining our program!” says Zedrick. “They are both very competitive and hungry to help us win. Annie’s competitive experience and success are going to help her contribute the moment she steps foot on campus. Katie’s incredible work ethic and consistent improvement over her high school career will help her transition into college golf and have an impact on our team. The sky is the limit for these two and we’re so happy they are Broncos!”
Annie Flavin | Plymouth, Mich. | Plymouth HS
Flavin will join the Broncos in the fall from the east side of the state in Plymouth. Flavin is currently the reigning MHSAA Division I Individual Champion after carding a 148 at The Meadows in Allendale through 36 holes. Over her senior season, Flavin played 18 rounds and was ranked the fifth best golfer in the state of Michigan and the second-best golfer in Division 1 by the MHSAA.
Flavin earned a handful of awards during her high school career including being a four-time All-State selection and a four-time All-Conference selection in KLAA-West. Individual awards for Flavin included the 2025 Maggle Scholarship Award and being named to the MIGCA Golf Super Team. Along with playing golf, Flavin is also a member of the Wildcat’s varsity basketball team as a center. Flavin is the daughter of Kristy and Barry and has a younger sister and plans to major in business at WMU.
Katie Pill | Oxford, Mich. | Oxford HS
Another state product, Pill joins the Brown and Gold in the fall from Oxford, just north of Detroit. Pill also competed in the MHSAA Division I Individual Finals, finishing seventh after carding a 158 through 36 holes. Pill played a total of 16 events her senior season for 28 rounds, taking first place at the Lapeer Lighting Tune Up, the Farmington Invite, and the Dow High Invitational. Pill comes to Western Michigan as the 16th ranked girl’s golfer in the state and 10th in Division 1 by the MHSAA.
After the 2025 season, Pill earned her first All-State First Team recognition after back-to-back All-State Honorable Mentions. Other awards Pill has earned over her career include being a four-time All-League selection, a four-time All-State Academic Team selection, and a three-time All-County selection. Pill is the daughter of Anthony and Cyndi Pill and has three other siblings. She plans to major in business at WMU.
