LOS ANGELES – USC Women’s Golf has signed Angela Zhang of Bellevue, Washington, to join the Women of Troy in the fall, Head Coach Justin Silverstein announced today.

“Angela has been a long-time target for our coaching staff, and we couldn’t be happier to get her signed to be a part of the Trojan Family,” Silverstein said. “Her history of great golf will fit seamlessly into our player development system, and we believe she will be a pivotal part of our success for years to come. Being part of the first-ever USGA National Team has shown Angela how to be part of a team, and we appreciate the training she has gotten in that system.”

Zhang comes to USC after being a part of the first-ever U.S. National Development Program, where she competed for the U.S. Junior National Team. Zhang currently ranks 29th in the American Junior Golf Association’s rankings after winning the AJGA Colorado Springs Junior, the Wyndham Clark presented by the Colorado Golf Association, and the K.J. Choi Foundation Texas Junior Championship.

The four-time AJGA Rolex All-America Honorable Mention honoree has numerous accolades in her career, like qualifying for the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open in Pebble Beach and competing in the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur. She also won the 2023 American Junior Golf Association Salt Lake Junior, and the Washington State Junior and Women’s Amateur titles at the age of 13. Zhang also qualified for the U.S. Girls’ Junior at the U.S. Air Force Academy Eisenhower Golf Course, advanced to the Round of 16 at the R&A Girls Amateur Championship in England, and advanced to the semifinals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington.

Zhang is the first athlete to sign with USC during the early signing period.
