Kai Trump stepped into the spotlight during her inaugural press conference as a golfer ahead of her surprising LPGA Tour debut this week.
Trump, who is the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, is setting her sights on a promising future in the sport. She has already committed to attending the University of Miami, while seven pictures showed her getting ready for this week’s event.
Even before she begins college and takes the next major step in her golfing journey, she’ll be teeing off alongside the world’s elite professionals as a sponsor’s invite at The ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. She also made her feelings clear on Caitlin Clark ahead of their unexpected crossover as she spoke to the press.

During her media appearance, Trump answered several questions about her grandfather and his golfing abilities, as the two are known to hit the links together frequently. Yet, Kai seemed strangely reluctant to disclose whether she’s ever managed to defeat Donald on the golf course.
When asked: “How do you do against gramps in golf?” she responded: “He’s pretty good. He’s pretty good.”
Pressed further with “is he?” she continued: “Yeah, he’s pretty good. We have some tight matches. Yeah, can’t say much. Yeah, we have some tight matches.”
When questioned directly about whether she’s beaten him yet, she avoided giving a straight answer, saying: “I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I don’t know. We play a lot. We have a great time out there. We’re always on the same team as well.”

She later revealed the guidance he had provided her before the tournament, explaining: “Well, I kind of – I know my game pretty well so I have a few people watch things over. I don’t really work with anyone right now at the moment.
“And my grandpa pretty much told me go out there and have fun. Just don’t get nervous. Try my best not to.”
When questioned about what it’s like being the President’s granddaughter and whether he would be attending her tournament, she responded: “No. He’s not coming this weekend. He’s running the world right now, so a little busy. To me he’s just a normal grandpa. Always has been.
“It’s nothing – I would just say it’s like having a normal grandpa. There is nothing different I would say. It’s pretty cool obviously, but to me it’s just normal.”
