That’s the key. He’s munched that is slightly in the middle of the fairway. All the grass in the fairway has been mowed from T green where at Augusta they mow it from green to T. So you’re always playing down grain with your second shots. Makes a big difference. Is to win the hole. There is work left to do for Europe. Straight up the hill. Three four feet. The right rough once you get past that corner tree is not a bad spot. got two wonderful T- shots and everyone talks about the distance of Dashambo. Rahm’s been out there with him all day. Yeah. And that’s with soft soft ground. So that’s just all fly. Good line. Really good line coming from quite down below this green. It’s hard to judge. Very easy to leave this short for Dambo at 13. Europe’s not got the greatest lie, but it’s all very much in front of him. So there’s plenty to work from where this is quite hard I think to muscle it up and get it running cuz it otherwise it might just catch the ridge and just just pull up quite quickly. There’s a ridge that runs right across the back step of this green. Yeah, just what Anthony thought that was the danger. Yeah, good call Anthony. There is a very familiar face especially for team USA. He’s actually a really good friend of Luke Donald as well from Luke’s time in Chicago. Michael Jordan for the two has to be said the easier putt of the two slightly further away but only inches for Dambo through the shadow up the hill. There you go. That’s a bit of confidence there trying to get the trying to get the crowder alive. Yeah, Justin Thomas joining in as well. That’s exactly what it needs, Hunter. They need something. They need They need a boost somewhere for sure, right? Two absolute nothing left swings there. I think that’s just because I think that hit the hospitality. You got to think this could be curtains. This is hard to get stone dead for Dambo. I’m almost dropping this from the top of the slope. Trying to pick the line, visualize it. Yeah, he certainly gave the game away a little bit, but I think it was worth playing that way round for me. It’s not really a puddle you would expect to hole. It’s so slow and as we saw, just cambering off to the right, but so aggressive you’d expect this to threaten. He’s hit it much firmer, hasn’t he? Still hasn’t got No, it look like it to be honest with you from down there for Bryce. Quite a steep slope. So hard to make yourself hit it. Here’s Bryson Dambo looking upwards. Left pin, right wind. Now he’s got six feet coming back for par just to have the hole. Can’t do make these mistakes. Do you stay just the one down now? No. No. Just not a great start for Europe after that first hole. He hasn’t made anything from any other distances today. looking just left hoping for some break up by the hole and it is not there. Boy, that putt didn’t do anything for the 30 ft and great touch, great speed that’ll be given. immense power this man has and he uses it every time he hits driver. Have a look at this. Yeah, Dambo was one of the few Americans I thought would win this game. D shambo for birdie on six trying to put a little bit of pressure on Mitzpatrick. They’ve not hold those puts J. You know the ones that you almost need to hold first and let the guy have a wee bit of pressure, you know. had a little trouble off the tea. So this is uh the third for Dambo. That shot from Fitzpatrick a couple of moments ago. Hard to get it to the hole. You He’s playing into a little bit of an ups slope there. Was never going to release off that ups slope. Dambo here at seven for par. Needs it because right now the calls are coming from inside the house for Bryson Dambo. to Shambo to win the hole. Could this be the start of his comeback? Never say die. It’s down to four the margin. Still a mountain to climb ahead, but he’s taken a step forward there. Made some headway on the previous hole. Bryson and 19 ft would do him no harm whatsoever and start to just put a bit of pressure on Fitzpatrick’s shoulders. You have to think this is a must make being four down. Fitzpatrick isn’t going to give anything away. He’s so steady. Not much in this putt. Maybe a little left to right. Two in a row. I wouldn’t call it momentum, but it’s something. It has to start somewhere. If there’s to be a fight back, that might be the moment. Just won the last two holes. You got to keep the hammer down. It’s an odd shot in my opinion with his equipment. All his irons are sixiron length and these short little shots when you want to kind of choke down and get closer to your business. He can’t get close to his business here. A little bit of an ups slope is going to help. [Music] That’s well played. Can’t ask for too much more than that from there. Once again, can’t leave the hole. Well done. But will there be enough sand in the hourglass for Bryson Dashambo who is three down here? Fitzpatrick has two parted for his path and it’s Dambo here to win the hole all be it from off the green. There’s a pretty big big ups slope here. This is the miss at 11. You can’t you can’t go over the greens. You don’t have any green. What green there is is slightly going away from him. He’s going to have some work required. I think that’s uh inside the zone of friendship. Pretty well played shot. Well, they’re looking for miracles at this stage. Couldn’t quite find one. doesn’t quite have that main character energy out there today. I think this putt is just one inch too far to be given. It’s just there just outside that that range. Yeah, pick it up. He picks it out and that margin will remain at three in favor of Matt Fitzpatrick. [Applause] Jump up to the 12th. Just nestled into the rough down the right to Shambo gouging. No doubt about it. This is all about pride now, isn’t it? Here’s Bryson Dambo into the 13th. Second shot to this pine five. Oh, he’s running after it. He likes it. Oh, he showed it. The Eagle P for Bryson Desau at 13. this to win the hole and to reduce the deficit against Fitzpatrick. [Applause] Just lost a bit of speed at the end and just fell off. I think he loved the line. Just needed some more speed. Well, we saw the flags behind the green. Maybe just a touch of help for the Shambo here. Juice up, baby. [Applause] That was good for a moment. Spun back about 25 ft. [Applause] Just a case of lagging this one up for Bryson Dambo. No mistake there. In fact, it’ll get the biggest roar. Two down with four to play. Marching forward [Applause] to Dambo up the hill at 15. Patrick just off the back edge. Oh, what a shot. These boys are coming brewing all day. [Applause] The Shambo makes again. That is four birdies in a row for Bryson. And from five down through seven holes, he is now just one in a rears with three to play. What a turnaround. Five down after seven. He’s clawed his way back. He’s only one down on 16 here. He must respond. 174 to the hole. Who knows what club it is? Doesn’t even matter. Staring it down. Good shot. Good response. Boys look about equal distance apart on that hole. USD wins these halves to do really no good. He’s got to make this got to keep that birdie streak alive. Birdie in the last four going for five. Just half the club short there. This for Birdie. and to win the hole just outside left thinking it’s going to go right and he leaves it dead in the heart short. Oh my goodness. Good heavens. Good heavens. Look at Bryson Dambo as he heads to the ENT up that hill. Can’t go long here. Can’t get a flyer. You can just see the top of that ball right there. Popped it straight up in the air. Oh boy. Defensive. Defensive because as you said, can’t go over. Yeah. [Applause] The putt up the slope. It’s left and long. He’s going to have to put a mark on that one [Applause] which he gets. Terrific fight back from Dash Shambo. That means that Europe are now within half a point of retaining at 13 1/2 to 8 1/2. That’s a huge half there after being five down through seven. Massive fight back for Shambo. Patrick would be disappointed in that result. Obviously, not that he did anything wrong. Dambo just really turned it on the back nine.
