Streamsong’s New Course: David McLay-Kidd’s Masterpiece | East Coast Golf Domination?

Get ready for a game changer in the world of golf. Streamong, a hidden gem in Central Florida, is about to elevate its status as the ultimate East Coast golf destination. Picture this. A 16,000 acre resort, once a phosphate mine, now boasting four incredible golf courses and a fifth on its way. Designed by the legendary David Mlay Kid. Imagine being blindfolded and driven to this resort. You’d feel like you’ve stepped into a golf paradise, a world away from anywhere else. And here’s the kicker. Unlike other golf resorts, Streamong offers a pure golf experience without any residential distractions. It’s a golfer’s dream come true. Streamong’s rise to the top. In the world of golf course design, a new elite group has emerged. A modern-day Mount Rushmore, if you will. This group includes David the Gllay Kid, Tom Do, Bill Core, and Ben Krenshaw, and Gil Hance. These architects have left their mark on the game, and their names are synonymous with excellence. Bandon Dunes, located in Bandon, Oregon, is widely regarded as the world’s top golf resort. David Mcclelay kid designed its original course which opened in 1999 setting the stage for a golf revolution. From there each architect added their unique touch creating a collection of courses that define the modern golf experience. Now let’s fast forward to Central Florida and Streamong, a 3,130 mile journey from Bandon Dunes. Streamong opened in 2012 with its red and blue courses, quickly establishing itself as a must-play destination. The black course followed in 2017. And in 20124, the chain, a unique 19-hole short course, joined the lineup. Each course designed by one of the elite architects, offers a distinct challenge and experience. The mystery of the fifth course. The upcoming fifth course at Streamong designed by David Mcclelay kid is shrouded in secrecy. While we don’t know its name yet, we do have a glimpse of its layout and design. Rumors suggest it might continue the color theme, but with the chain breaking that mold, anything is possible. Could it be named silver or platinum? Only time will tell. Logistically, the fifth course presented a challenge, requiring a new clubhouse. However, David Mclay kid’s genius prevailed and the course will share a clubhouse with Stream Song Black, creating a seamless golf experience. A privileged walk with the architect. As a Fidian, I was honored to walk the yet unnamed fifth course with David Mclay kid. Despite its mining past, the land has been transformed into a pristine golf haven, offering views of untouched Florida wilderness. It’s a rare site these days and it emphasizes Streamong’s commitment to pure golf. Streamong’s unique offering. What sets Streamong apart from other premier golf resorts on the east coast is its lack of residential development. Unlike Kiwa Island or Pinehurst, where homes line the courses, Streamong and Bandon Dunes offer a pure golf experience. This distinction is a key factor in Stream Song’s appeal, especially for those seeking an unspoiled golf getaway. The fifth course, a contender. When I asked David Mcclelaykid about his vision for the fifth course, he spoke of creating a course that would be loved by golfers of all skill levels. He believes it will be an instant favorite, a course that golfers will eagerly return to. And with his love for short par4s, which offer a challenge to all players, it’s clear that this course will be a unique and exciting addition to Stream Song’s lineup. Aerial views, breathtaking beauty. Aerial photos of the fifth course reveal a stunning layout with dunes and lakes creating a dramatic backdrop. It’s a golfer’s paradise, offering views that are simply breathtaking. And with no McMansions in sight, it’s a pure golf experience. A rare treat these days. The Stream Song Experience. When the fifth course opens, Streamong will offer an unparalleled golf experience. With four worldclass 18-hole courses, and the chain, a 19hole short course, golfers will have a variety of options to choose from. Add to that Streamong’s top tier facilities, including a luxury lodge, steakous, clubous, and a spa, and it’s easy to see why it’s the top choice for golf trips on the East Coast. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on the fifth course at Streamong. It’s an exciting time for golf enthusiasts, and we can’t wait to see this course come to life.
