Eric Cole breaks down his brilliant 63, highlighted by an eagle on No. 1, smooth ball-striking, and ideal morning conditions in Cabo. He talks scoring opportunities, chasing a spot in the Aon Next 10 for Pebble Beach, and his support of the Golf for Cops initiative. Full press-conference recap with key insights from his best round of the season.

Good. All right, Eric, great round today. Best round this season for you. Can you just talk through what was working out there today? Yeah, no, it was a good day. I hit the ball well and had a lot of birdie opportunities. Um, definitely putter wasn’t quite as cooperative as it was later in the round. I made a few putts. Um but yeah, no, ball striking was really good and uh you know, it it felt uh relatively easy and simple uh which is pretty nice with that score. Going off early today, did the weather conditions change at all? A little bit less wind? Yeah, definitely a little less wind. Uh you know, there’s not as much foot traffic on the greens, so much more puttable and uh easier to make putts. And uh yeah, you know, with with the with the lack of wind and you know, there’s fairways are pretty wide and uh you’re really just trying to get your irons as close to the pin as you can on every hole. Can you talk through that eagle on number one? Yeah, no, it was good. I uh you kind of know when you start on 10 that you have 18 and one or two pretty getable parfives. So, uh hit a good shot on 18 and two putted and then hit a pretty decent shot into one and made like maybe a 30footer or 25 footer. So, it was nice to see that go in. So, when you’re done for the day before lunch, what’s the plan for the rest of the day? Yeah, just relax. I mean, we’re in beautiful Cabo, so just kind of take it easy. My wife’s here this week, so just sit by the pool a little bit and get rested for the next two days. Awesome. Well, good luck this weekend. No worries. Thank you. Yeah. Have a good one. Thanks, Eric. Bye. See you. Goodbye.
