Legion XIII’s Tyrrell Hatton was asked at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship what his thoughts were about the recent announcement from LIV Golf that all events in 2026 would be 72 holes instead of the original 54 hole format. He was also asked if he felt energized to finish his personal season at such a big event on the DP World Tour.

I think it’s a good thing that we’ve that live have moved to to four rounds. Um, I know at the end of uh my first season, there was a a questionnaire that was filled out and um one of the questions was about moving to to 72 holes and I think of of everyone that had filled it out, I think there was only three guys initially that had said about moving there. So, um I guess that’s changed quite a bit in the last year and certainly from my standpoint, it’s um I’m quite happy that we’ve moved to 72 holes. Sitting here right now, I wouldn’t say I’m energized. I think the the jet lag is uh is pretty tough, but I think it’s also quite hard coming off the Ryder Cup. It’s such a big buildup to to that week. You hope you’re a part of it. Um thankfully this year I was um and yeah it’s such a special week. It is a bit of a comedown afterwards and I’ve enjoyed the the last four weeks that I’ve had off. You definitely need that time. Um and I have up to the RDER Cup played a lot of golf. So I think this is my this week will be my 25th tournament of the year. Um, and then yeah, I mean playing Dubai next week and and then Saudi the week after. So that will take me to 27. Uh, so it’s been busy, but hopefully I can finish the season strong. And so far it’s been another good year.
