It’s the first Tiger Woods-designed course to host a PGA TOUR event, as a collection of the best golfers in the world return for the World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal at Diamante Cabo San Lucas. This is the time of year when there will be plenty of eyes on both the top of the leaderboard and the FedExCup standings, being the third-to-last event in the FedExCup Fall. U.S Open champion J.J. Spaun and two-time 2025 TOUR winner Ben Griffin are set to tee it up at the World Wide Technology Championship. Spaun has never missed the cut at this championship and finished T30 last year, while Griffin has had back-to-back top 25s. Joining them is Michael Brennan, who is looking for his magical 2025 to continue. Brennan parlayed a sponsor invite at the Bank of Utah Championship into a win – accepting PGA TOUR membership in the process and bypassing the Korn Ferry Tour entirely.

Sammy Valamaki had it for a moment after this shot at four. Yeah, and he’s liking his ranking right now as it stands, 90th. All the hard work done, but he’s got to keep it going. That’s as good as it gets right there. Exacting pin position. So, he would make a birdie and Carson Young would do the same. He was not on his own. Yeah, Carson Young, he’s come back to the course that he knows how to go low on. your guy today. Just missing a divot from the center of the fairway. Valamaki at six using what local knowledge he has. Not backing down one bit. We have Billy Ray Brown with this final group and the co-leader Garrick Hegel. Well, that was some 212 yds here at the par4 helping Breeze. Tough hole location that back left. Oh wow. Just landed that perfectly. really difficult to get it close to that whole location today for birdie on the six to get to 24 under part but this final group trading punches Carson Young was the closest chaser going in the final round curls that in the very from the right hand side what a shot there that we saw there by Higo this one on the great line as well there’s a back stop back there Carson Young uses flag. Game on between these two. Car for 10th. Once again, drivable for the field. Nick Dunlap four behind. Pole location on the front left side. Really can bounce something up there. Go. Oh, this is going to be great. And and this is what what we have to look forward to on the back nine. Two weeks par fives, drivable 10th. Here goes birdie 10 the last two days. And they love the line back at the tea. Oh yeah. Garrick Higgo middle of the green strolling up towards an eagle putt on the tap today. Back into the wind. Plays down six. 194. This pin tucked on the right side. A lot of right to left slope. to the right of it as well. This on a pretty good line. Seven iron trying to play a draw off the right edge of the court. Spectacular. [Applause] Green’s in perfect condition. Oh, catches that left edge. Green’s running right at 10 and a half on the stent meter Johnson. And that’s a a speed in which the players can be aggressive when they leave it in the correct position. Matty Schmidt next up on the par 3 11th. Wow. Land. That’s it. Just landed on the down slope in the rough and let it trickle out. I think it’s got a magnet to the cup there. Couple feet away. It’s a par putt. What a save. Scored a zero punt for Carson Young. And it like Billy Ray said, putting through this past Palum fairway is tough anyway, but putting through an ups slope really sticky and grainy. If it didn’t go in, it was still great speed. Massive momentum putt. Yeah, he does have some slope in behind that he might be able to use and he just decided to go right at it. Take it on. That is so well done, you guys. Another circle on the card for Griffin. New putter he’s got this week is certainly working for him. Steep should come right back. Grab it. Grab it down. Oh, what a shot. Will it get all the way to the hole? Just about all high. Likes to work it right to left. So way more comfortable than a lot of players on this whole location. Oh yeah. [Applause] [Applause] Mattie Schmid for Birdie. Schmid heating up with the butter. Four in a row for him as well. George technology championship up on the green. Ben Griffin. And left to right all the way here. Just gradual. It’s pretty good. Ben Griffin buries it. That is five straight. He’s 27 under, leading by one. Young for birdie to share. How clutch is that by Carson Young. [Applause] [Applause] is also a pitching wedge for Chad Remy. This one hit way higher up in the air and on a really good line. George Yeah, it was a pretty sensible shot. He got a good break. That was close to going long. It would have been a tough up and down, but now just kind of needs two putts from here. Quick putt down the hill straight towards the ocean. How about one? Filling it up. Ben Griffin to 28 under has done serious damage on the par threes. Look at all those tubes. Birding all four par threes. That’s hard to do. They’re You’ll remember this round for a while for many reasons. Must make for Valamaki. Wow. He’s not going away, man. He is playing some good. One of the best views out on the course. Second shot for Schmid to the 17th. Really good. Give the people what they want on 17 today. A birdie barrage on the 17 it up. He’s hit it solid way up in the air coming towards the front left portion of the green. Beautiful. What a shot. Didn’t even watch it coming down. He knew it was good. It’s going to feed down in there now. That’s going to be a maybe a little bit of left to right. Pretty straight putt. It goes second to the 17th. this just a moment ago. Pretty good line here. Gorgeous. Rory and Scotty will have company. Ben Griffin a 63. 29 under. A new tournament scoring record will be his third win on the PGA Tour this season. Light breeze back in his face. Up there on the right side. It’s official. Ben Griffin, the winner of the worldwide technology championship. And he handled it beautifully. He handled it like a multiple time winner on the PGA Tour. He handled it like a veteran. And I think the Rder Cup experience that he has, like this is the guy who we’re going to see going forward. And I think he’s going to be a menace in a good. Great effort, Chad. A ryder cup player is hard to beat. T-2 is a big payday! A jump to 89th and likely secures his card for next year. Hail State! 🔥👍🎯
Getting a birdie and all the Par 3’s is crazy work! Fantastic all around play but especially that putting performance! Congrats Ben!!
