McKibben putting on a ball striking clinic this week. Only missed five greens in total. Found the fairway on the opening T-shot and hit a superb second. Opened with a birdie three and then on the par five third green side bunker for two. Death touch out of that bunker and he has increased his lead. looking very calm though. Just understands that his strength lies in that ball striking that Dom referenced earlier. Yeah, flatish looking putt. Maybe a little slow with the grain running from the back of the green to the front, but just a hint of movement off the right for Tom. Yeah, this one starting right edge of the green, turning back nicely. It’s on a very good line if it’s got the number. Well, not quite the number, but not a bad place to be putting from for his birdie. Relentless. Another birdie for the leader. Two ahead again. Got to be committed here. And nonetheless, the putter comes to rescue for Tom McKibben. You’re not going to get this one backing up. So, we can just sort of pitch this around 75. One hop and toss out an anchor. Not a hard shot at all. This one flying past the flag. Needs to grab. Stunning. As far as birdie looks go, this is a pretty good one on the 10th. Just executed the hole flawlessly. pick up coming off the right. Best place to be putting from to this particular pin is just short right of it leaves you the straight uphill look. Yeah, that one very high and looks to be pretty aggressive as well. Oh, I tell you what, Tom McKibben is winning more fans with every shot he hits. Just to ease a little further ahead. Oh, you never doubted it, did you? Great performances by Tom McKibben. That’s three in the last four holes, 25 under. He leads now by four. That one pretty high on a fairly aggressive line as well. Goodness me. How many times can we say relentless today, lads? Oh, we’ll go again here. Doogie McKibben for an eagle that would all but just put the bow on this trophy with still four holes to play. A couple holes to play. He’s human after all. Just 75 yds left for Tom McKibben. Very similar number to the one he had back on the 10th. Again, pretty bog standard shoulderto-shoulder sand wedge shot. Throw it out 10 ft left. Pin high. Check off another hole. Roll up the face a little. Should have some grab. Gently uphill. Just worming away to the right, but it’s been very stressfree. No wonder he looks so unbothered. To lead by five. That’ll do. This is some performance. Four birdies in the last five holes on the back nine from Tom McKibben. What an exhibition. Okay, maybe not. Magical McKibben. Okay, drop sh at the last. It doesn’t matter because it’s a round of 6327 underpar and he matches the greatest margin of victory in the Hong Kong Open. one of the world’s great tournaments stretching back to 1959. And we’ve rarely seen a more commanding performance than we’ve seen today by this 22-year-old Northern Irishman. Trophy. Congratulations.
