USF has released updated renderings of the future administrative and operational home for its football program, which is being constructed alongside the university’s on-campus stadium.
The TGH Center for Athletic Excellence will feature coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, recovery facilities, a dining area and a players’ lounge.
The 150,000-square-foot building was named in 2023 after Tampa General Hospital, which donated $25 million to fund the project, according to the USF Foundation. It was the largest donation in the history of USF Athletics.
It’s the third development in the expansion of USF’s Athletic District on Sycamore Drive, which includes the Porter Family Indoor Performance Facility, which opened in 2023, and the campus stadium, which is under construction.

Coach Alex Golesh said the facility will be “the nicest in the country”, according to a USF Athletics press release.
“We’re going to have a building that is the new standard, a complete first-class environment,” Golesh said. “We took the best out of everything we saw and put together the plans for a building that will be absolutely awesome.”

The main entrance of the facility will feature a two-story lobby, which will also serve as the stadium’s southern entrance for premium seating. The lobby will also be used as a space for private events and fundraisers.
The building will also feature a weight room with a sports science lab, nutrition station and DXA scan machine that measures bone density, fat and muscle composition.
It will also feature a variety of other amenities, including a recording studio, golf simulator, barbershop and kitchen where student-athletes can learn how to cook. USF’s stadium will feature 35,000 seats, an open concourse, a student section and the longest bar in Florida, according to the university.
