Yeah my uncle worked at a golf course back in the 80s-90s and he always had stacks of balls stored like this

Yes! The egg cartons. My grandpa’s friends would search the woods if there were no groups behind and collect banks. Then he’d divide them up depending on what models his friends liked to play and deliver them in egg cartons

I’ve seen the old egg box one here in Scotland, but not for a long time 😅

I still store all of my loose balls in an egg carton(s) over the winter months (balls in my bag with no sleeves / found balls etc).

I see the egg cartons a lot on FB Market. Doesn’t seem like a peculiar idea.
Mine are either in my bag, in the original boxes for new ones, or the five gallon buckets that are separated by range balls or regular hit aways. Most people I play with do something similar. I could see the cartons being more attractive if I was good enough to care about separating by brand/quality.

You’re more likely to see a plastic jug or bucket instead of glass around here, but egg cartons are super common for selling used golf balls.
