Many believed Rory Mroy bore the brunt of the hostility at Beth Page Black during the 2025 Rder Cup with fans chanting f asterisk asterisk asterisku Rory and even throwing drinks at his wife. but away from a spotlight on Mroy. Other European stars also endured relentless abuse, including Scotland’s Robert McIntyre, who was targeted from the very start of his Friday Forsome’s match. Spectators zeroed in on the twotime PGA Tour winner with personal jibes about his weight. Now, just days after lifting the RDER Cup trophy with Team Europe, McIntyre has responded in his own way. He posted an Instagram reel showcasing the insults he heard, overlaying them with clips of him calmly draining putts throughout the matches. His caption was simple but defiant. Keep them coming face blowing a kiss at Ryder Cupo. Blue heart, yellow heart, trophy, trophy. Dot. The real highlighted four of the heckles hurled his way. Eat another burger, Bobby. Milk bottle. Bobby Mac and cheese. When you starting Ompic. Each remark mocked his physique with the Ompic reference, a diabetes drug often used for weight loss. Particularly pointed. At the 17th hole, one spectator even shouted, “You’d be asterisk asterisk asterisk asterisk asterisk dw asterisk asterisk asterisk asterisk.” While others jered, do some cardio and have you ever been for a run? Yet rather than snapping back, McIntyre let his golf do the talking, striding off the greens after each putt with a quiet confidence that silenced the crowd more than words ever could. This wasn’t the first time McIntyre’s weight had been used against him. At the 2025 BMW Championship, a heckler shouted during his swing on the 14th hole, prompting a frustrated response. At the time, he admitted, “If you give me crap, I’ll give you crap back.” The Scott has openly acknowledged his fiery temperament, saying before the 153rd Open at Royal Portrish, “I’ll hit the bag. I’ll say some harsh things, but that’s what gets me going. But in New York, with the RDER Cup on the line, McIntyre chose composure over confrontation. When asked about the presence of former US President Donald Trump at Beth Page, he summed up his mindset perfectly. I just play golf. I’m not bright enough, for one, to be worrying about politics. I’m worrying more about what goes on this week on the golf course. As a European, we’ve got a job to do and hopefully win the RDER Cup. He wasn’t alone in facing abuse. Mroy, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, and others also endured Jeers. But the scenes at Beth Page push fan behavior to a breaking point that a history of Rder Cup heckling crowds at the Rder Cup are famous for their passion, often riding the line between banter and abuse. As Xander Chael warned before the event, Beth Paige is going to be insane. We’re going to have what, 30, 40, 50,000 people in the first hole yelling at you. But this isn’t new. In 2016, Mroy confronted a vulgar fan at Hazel Teen asking security to eject him after repeated abuse. The American Gallery is fantastic. But this week, at times it went a little bit too far, he said afterward to go further back to Brooklyn in 1999. and Colamont Gomery endured vicious personal insults about his wait and family. The abuse became so severe that US teammate Tom Leman publicly asked fans to show respect. While Montgomery’s father eventually left the course in disgust, still what unfolded at Beth Page in 2025 felt like a new low. The PGA of America has since apologized for the fans conduct, but for many the question lingers. Is an apology enough or should stronger action be taken to prevent RDER Cup crowds from crossing the line again?

  1. I hope there will be consequences for the USA. I think the atmosphere was so bad next time a European player may be hurt even shot. I think the Ryder Cup should not be held in the USA or if it is without spectators. And then the money for the US players and the chest bumps they performed like teenage footballers. I think the USA have caused irreparable damages to golf. What a disgrace!

  2. The game of golf has been dragged to its lowest level by the American thugs. They are not fans of their team they are only there to hurl abuse and bring the game into disrepute the same level as a baseball game.

  3. Perfect example why America is so disliked by so many countries, I really fell bad for the good spirited Americans that have to endure this.

  4. And all from a despicable nation that are world leaders in obesity, morbid obesity at that. Was ozempic not created and manufactured in YANK land, for fat, ginormous, over weight YANKS. 🍔🍔🍔🍔🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🍦🍨🍧🍩🍪🍫🍗🍗🍗🍰🧁🥮🍔🍔🍔🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟

  5. Only Americans, the most obese nation in the Western World would make fun of a slightly overweight golfer. Why – Americans are ignorant, narcissist and mean spirited. They still live under the delusion they are the best people in the World when in fact they are racist, uneducated and a violent society that the rest of the World hates. As a first generation Scottish Canadian, I cannot think of a more cuddly golfer with a great personality, sense of humour and moral principles than Bobby. For Americans – morals are those things like kindness, respect and humility that are foreign to their culture.

  6. I don't like golf, it's not my thing. Americans don't like anyone that's not American. We are not their thing, neither is fair play or manners.
