Michael Jordan talks Coaching and todays NBA Players

I have no patience for coaching you know my biggest problem from a competitive standpoint is the the focus of today’s athlete and the focus of where I saw the game how I pursued the game it changes and it’s and it’s totally different so to me for I for me to ask an individual to focus on the game the way I played the game in some ways would be you know unfair for that kid to have to endure that and if he didn’t do it no telling where my emotions would be I don’t think I would have the patience for it so in essence coaching is something that I’ve never really felt I could do from an emotional standpoint because I’m much different and I have a different perception about things than what the kids do today

  1. Jordan brought an ingenuity to the game. I haven't enjoyed watching NBA since he left because no one else has the fire he had.

  2. The greatest player to ever touch a basketball hands down. I watched every game. Can't nobody f*** with Him. And I'm a Kobe Bryant fan. Respect to Michael Jordan rest in peace Kobe Bryant.

  3. he underestimates the respect he would have from players. If Michael Jordan tells you to run until your legs fall off, you run until you crawl.

  4. MJ….is 100%…. CORRECT….!!! I believe that, MOST….of these NBA players TODAY…would ACTUALLY….rather, "PLAY" together…..(HORIZONTALLY), than…(VERTICALLY)…!!! The BIBLE….(PROVES), this FACT…about MANY…in this DEBASED world…!!!

  5. For me to ask an individual to focus on the game like I played the game would be unfair to that individual hmmm bet Kwame Brown would of loved to have heard that all those years ago.

  6. You'll find that, for the most part, the best coaches were not the top elite performers in their sport ("If you can, do, If you can't, teach"). There are exceptions – Larry Bird is an example – but usually, these athletes were supremely self-motivated. Consequently, they often don't have the patience to deal with those who aren't.

  7. As a '70s and '80s kid I can relate. Everything we did was outside. We did not have social media or other distractions. It was all about picking up a movement and running with it. It's tough today for these kids having to deal with social media and other influences. Certainly a much more pure time back then or I would get out at 10:00 on a Saturday and not come home till 8:00 that night on my bicycle. I feel you MJ

  8. Then stop being involved with basketball. Basketball today is so boring I’d rather be in a coma!

  9. The problem with Jordan is he wants to put his shoes on and go and drill every day for a season because he still has the fire but not the body.

  10. Iknow for a fact that many athletes see pro sports as a way out. They Get their paycheck and they good. But that’s why it’s amazing to see some people have the hunger to chase legacies that we thought were broken

  11. I know exactly how he feels. I have zero patience for other people who can’t at the bare minimum match or exceed my production at work yet expect the same pay, admiration or treatment. Put 💯% effort in what you do 💯% of the time or expect to be treated according to what other people value your worth.
