DP World Genesis Championship. Lorie Caner’s 100 ft putt not enough for a win. A 100 ft putt, an eagle on the 18th hole, and a tie for second place. England’s Lorie Caner had a remarkable run at the DP World Genesis Championship in South Korea, but it wasn’t quite enough to secure the win. The 35-year-old caner sunk an incredible 100 ft putt, the longest in the tournament to finish alongside Spain’s Nacho Alvera on eight under par. While this was a remarkable achievement, it wasn’t quite enough to catch home winner Yong Juan Lee, who finished three shots ahead. But here’s where it gets interesting. Ala, who shared the third round lead with Sweden’s Michael Lindberg, started the back nine in the lead. However, bogeies at the 11th and 17th holes proved costly, and he needed an eagle on the 18th to force a playoff. Unfortunately, his second shot landed in the water, ending any hopes of a playoff. Caner’s final round score of 67 was impressive, including three birdies. Fellow Englishman Andy Sullivan finished tied for fourth after a final round 70. This was my best round, especially as the gallery out there were really cheering for me. They gave me the strength I needed, Caner told Sky Sports. I just hope I can live up to their expectations in the future as well. And this is the part most people miss. While Caner’s 100 ft putt was undoubtedly impressive, it’s important to note that it wasn’t the only long putt in the tournament. Patrick Fishburn’s 106 ft putt at the Texas Open in April is the longest in a major professional tournament in 2025. So, while Caner’s putt was remarkable, it’s not the only one that deserves recognition. What do you think? Do you think Caner’s 100 ft putt was the most impressive moment of the tournament, or do you have a different perspective? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
