Fire at Lakewood Golf Resort destroys multiple trailers

The Sylvan Lake Fire Department responded to a fire at the Lakewood Golf Resort on Friday, Nov. 7. just before 1:30 a.m.

During the fire, multiple trailers were destroyed or damaged at the resort located just outside of Sylvan Lake on Township Road 391.

In total, six trailers in the park were completely destroyed, and around six others suffered smoke and heat damage.

The power transformer box for the site was also damaged in the fire.

The Fire was put out with the assistance of the Bentley Fire Department, and the Red Deer County Fire Department.

Crews were on scene until 5 a.m.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been released yet.

The Red Deer County Fire Department will be conducting an investigation.
