I can’t believe it! Last round of the season (and first time I ever walked a full 18) and I broke 90! I played the back 9 with my dad at my local course early this morning. Normally, I’d just go home with him, but I was feeling good and decided to see if there were any spots for a single to play a full round, and joined a very nice elderly Irish couple as they were teeing off on the first hole.
I ended up carding a 39(!?) out and 49 in for an 88. I even almost had a HIY on the 4th (pic above). Waiting until after I finished the round before adding up my score was huge. If I added up my front 9 immediately and saw the 39 (now my best ever score for 9), I would’ve freaked out and have tripled away any shot at breaking 90 by the 12th hole. Instead, I’m freaked out that I finally actually managed to do this. Holy cow.

Congratulations! I broke 90 my last round of the year too! first time ever, 44 and 43. I decided to treat myself to a new set of irons because of it(7 iron head came off on hole 4) ready for some 110 scores incoming 🤣🤣

I’ve broken 90 a handful of times in my life, but it’s still an accomplishment and great feeling.
Ironically I’ve broken it once each of the last 2 years, both times on my final round of the year
