Functional core vs ab training!
First off, we actually love ab training – that’s why it was the first move in our core sequence.
But, if all you’re doing is a bunch of high rep, low load crunching movements just to get a “burn,” you’re missing out on a lot of potential gains!
Your midsection is responsible for so much – extension, rotation, lateral flexion, flexion, etc. and there’s so much more to it than just developing a six pack…which crunches aren’t all that effective in doing anyway!
So if crunches can’t spot reduce fat and they’re not particularly effective in building abs, then you might as well opt for functional core movements that also help you with stability, balance, coordination, and help you with overall total body strength which in turn helps everything else?
Hope that helps!

What’s the difference between abs and core?
just keep doing crunches haha love all the core exercises though!
thank you for all you do for us!
I love your guys’ format of workout videos keep it up!
I feel so vindicated, I once encountered a physio who told me to ditch the v-ups & pretty much every core exercise shown here for crunches. i never booked a second appointment. Some of my friends said I shdv listened to him but I trusted that I knew my body better than he did. Thank you for confirming my gut feeling lol <3
