The 8th edition of the event will take place in the Pinhal Gold Course, in Vilamoura, in the municipality of Loulé.
The AIRC is “part of Rotary International, a global network of volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to improving communities locally and worldwide.” In the club, there are people from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, living in the Algarve, who share the same goal: “To make a positive difference through service and friendship.”
Uschi Kuhn, president of AIRC, expressed that AIRC “organises a variety of fundraising and community service activities throughout the year”, which include not only charity events, but also work on supporting education. Donations to local associations and support to families or individuals in need in the Algarve are also supported by the club.
Among the events that promote charity in AIRC, there is the Charity Golf Day, which is one of the “main annual fundraising events” of the club. According to the president, “it combines a friendly round of golf with a social lunch and prize-giving ceremony.” This way, participants will not only enjoy “a great day of sport and camaraderie” but also will be “contributing to worthy causes.”
Besides the will to help others, there is no criteria to participate in the Golf Charity Day. Uschi Kuhn also adds that “golfers can register individually or as a team.” Those who do not feel like playing golf “are also invited to attend the lunch and enjoy the event.” The details for registrations can be discussed directly in AIRC; however, it is also possible to check everything online or through the event’s organisers.

The prices of the event vary depending on the activities people want to participate in. For a golf match and lunch, it has a cost of €185. Those who only want to attend the lunch pay €50 for it, keeping in mind that the money will be handed to the associations chosen by AIRC.
Supporting the local community
The president of AIRC stated that “this year, the funds will support local charities and community projects in the Algarve, focusing particularly on children, families in need, and social inclusion programmes.” The organisations that will receive the funds are aligned “with Rotary’s values of service, integrity and compassion.” Uschi Kuhn also mentioned that the chosen associations “provide essential support to vulnerable people, and our members are proud to help strengthen their work.”
Rotary’s creed
Uschi Kuhn believes “that community spirit and collaboration are at the heart of positive change.” The president states that the Charity Golf Day “is not only about raising funds — it’s about bringing people together to make a lasting impact.”
Uschi Kuhn invites everyone to participate and “enjoy the day, and be part of something meaningful.”
