I Take On One Of The BEST Courses In The World!! (Trump Turnberry)
This is one of the greatest golf courses in the world. A place steeped in history and home to some of the Open Championships most iconic moments. From Tom Watson’s near fairy tale to the drama of the Jewel in the Sun. Does it seem old-fashioned, sentimental to conclude that this was one man’s title but two men’s championship? But today it’s my turn. It’s getting hard out here. Luckily, it’s not raining though. Almost like a golf shot. We’re taking on the Elsa and we’re going to find out what an average pro can shoot around this legendary championship links. This is Turnbury. [Music] Well, for those of you that have been subscribed, if you haven’t, please do already. You will have noticed that we’re in a slightly dreary setting than the last few videos. We’ve gone to America and then we’ve come back and now we’ve come back in true Matt Fryer golf fashion. It’s cold and the rain’s just started a little bit here. Now, we’re anticipating that we get a full 18 in. But depending on what the rain does and what timing does, it might get cut short, just to be upfront with you about that. But I’m excited. I’m very excited. We’re going to hit a few putts now. We’ve had our range warm up. Just look down there. Just spin the camera down there. That has got to be, I think, one of the most daunting first T-shots for an open venue. Burkdale maybe up there, but all I can see is gors and gor and bunkers as I look down that way. So, uh, wish me luck. Wish me luck. Nice to meet you, M. There’s a something from us, Alex. Alex between there and the red roof. That’s going to be your line. That’s going to open up your approach shot into the green there. Okay. You’ve got a bunker on the left, the green, a bunker on the right, and a bunker in the air. Bunker, bunker, bunker, bunker. There’s only 90 bunkers. You don’t need to visit them all. Is that how many? Only 90. Only 90. Well, there was more than that. What’s 90 on the first? What’s a good score today? Scratch golfer. Good score today. Good score today. 80. Break. Break 80. Break 80. Break 80. Break 80. A good I’ll give it 10 as well. 90. That’s the goal. Always. That’s what I like to see. Manager expectations. Right then. First T 6 and a half thousand yards par 71. Alex Elliot is here in our group as well. We’re going to have a little friendly knock, aren’t we? I think the last time we played together was with Tom. Yeah, I think for me I think I had hair which is is a long long time ago. Play well everyone have a good game. Red house. Oh, it’s the trap. Keep going left. Keep going left. Okay, should be okay. Which red help? See the the one with the white window. Little white window. Right. Safely away. Last time I played here, I think I put we had a social knock and I put three in the uh three in the bush. So that’s that’s not bad. Okie do koke kokeie koke. Just avoided the first bunker. 90 bunkers, Richie said there. I do not want to go in any of them today. 170 the flag, which means it’s pretty much slapbang in the middle. Looks like we might get a flyer as well. So, I’m probably just going to knock down a seven. I think one thing’s for certain, I know this ball will be moving right to left out of this. So, right edge and let it come back. Ah, turning too much. I think that’s going to be in the first trap of the day. Wind is getting up quite a lot. When we turned up, it was soft, gentle breeze. Now it’s really starting to pump. Right. I should be. Yeah. Well play, pal. Just thinking go Scottish on this. Go Scottish. Keep it out of the wind. First hole. Just roll it up along the fringe. Take the tapping. Little bit lackluster. This should be a lovely one to make early on. Right. A little bit of break in it. Let’s Let’s roll this in. Come on. That’ll do. Settles the day nicely. That one sets you up nicely. Testing path standard. Off we go. 375 bunker at 230 is the main issue. Wind whipping off the left. Just try and hold it down the middle is the play. That should work. It almost like a golf shot. Here we go, big boys. We found a fairway. We have found a fairway. This is a serious test today. Serious serious test of controlling your ball flight cuz there’s a lot of crosswinds. So, you’ve really got to know how to flight it. We got the same as the last one, 70. It’s going to be a different club cuz we’re back into it now. I was going to have it six iron and try and get a little bit of a draw and flatten it out. Conwood, do me a favor. There’s my first bunker of the day. Overdid it. Wasn’t good. That one wasn’t good. Wasn’t good. Right then. Long bunker shot up and down here would be fantastic, but Oh, pulled it. Oh dear. Got it out. Just shut the face. Right then. Bit of a shame after the T-shot, but one good puck can fix it all. That was courageous. Jeez. Soft bogey. That soft bogey. Silly Matthew. 388 yds is the third hole back down from where we’ve just come. Gors all the way. Your line here is literally over the right hand side of the gor to let it come back in. It’s yellow. Yeah, there’s nothing down the right after that. It’s just rough. That’ll be in the rough, but it’s okay though. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. There’s loads of room down there. Yeah. It’s rather intimidating. Look, it’s okay. Actually, I went to where I aimed it. I thought the wind was going to move it a bit more. Should have been a bit more central there, but hey ho. 112 from here. So, 5 yards on pin in the middle. Let’s see what we can do. 112. Player 54 just to get it up out of the light. It’s not the best. Come on, wind. Come on. Might be close. Or that might be Alex near, but it looked like it was on the green. Right. One thing I’m going to take from that is don’t aim too far off the fairways today. Right. Then down the hill. Bit of right to left. I’m going to be left to right. Oh, bloody hell. Bounce back of all bounce backs. Dead weight. I didn’t think that was going to get there halfway. Had the wind on it a bit. Yeah, great. Cheers. Right, that’ll tidy up the sloppiness from the last. Look at that. Right, our fourth hole, par three. The sea just bashing up against the rocks here in the beach. Elsa Craig Craig Elsa Craig Elsa Craig in the distance there. 190 though, this par three. Going to knock a four iron down, I think, and try and let the wind not have its wicked way. gone with you. Okay. Yeah. It’s just bit of rough down there. That is a brutal hole. That That is a brutal hole. Right. We either go full Scottish and put it or try and chip it. Let’s chip it. Let’s chip it. Come on, Matty. Chip it in. That be way better. Yeah, just didn’t get going. Thought it was going to be quicker. I overestimated it. It’s a lovely uh view out there. Now, if we can just get that white cloud just to stay for the next 3 and 1/2 hours, we’ll be absolutely perfect here. I’ve got the best part of 8 ft here of right to leftness. Not outside the hole. Just hit a little bobble on the way. Thought that was going to be in. Ah, yeah. Nuisance. Soft bogey. We’re okay though. We’ll keep trucking. We have 501. Our first par five. The bunker. 243 286. They are. This is a serious par five. This one could do the bottom one on little towy. If it’s on the fairway with a driver for me at the minute, it’s like a birthday celebration. That’s beautiful. Little little toe savory just just sniped it to help it. How you know? Stay out the middle. We are playing uh clean and place by the way if anyone has any quaries with that because it is the depths nearly of winter which is a testament to how well the condition is because the greens are quick, the fairways are slick and it is a good challenge. We’ve got 212 yards to the front. I’m already chasing my score, so I’m going to hit 3-wood. But I actually feel quite confident with this one. This is the club. Bang it up there. 236 uphill into wind. This will be okay. Oh no, I will hit a provisional. I just saved that somewhere. Oh dear. The first one should be okay. Oh, not good. Not good. No commitment. First ball found. I thought that was going to be the start of the capitulation then, but we’re a a okay an up and down here would be nice. It’s a great shot Alex has played. By the way, if you’re wondering why Alex isn’t on this video, we do have another video that we’re doing with him tomorrow, so make sure that you are subscribed so you don’t miss that one. But for now, watch me hit a great pitch. Go in. Thank you. Came out a bit lower than I wanted, but we’ll take it. About 6 ft here. Bit of right to left. The wind might move it a bit more. See if we can tidy up. Tell you what, I didn’t think that after the the threewood off the fairway, but yeah, a little bit of luck there. A little bit of luck, right, let’s hopefully not make any more stupid errors because got some tough holes to come. Now need to hunker down and get stuck in to this walk when you get up to here. This is one of the the real breathtaking ones when you come from fifth to sixth green. It’s quite a a track and then the path through is incredible. But you get your first big view of the lighthouse and then the beach down there. Should have played loser goes for a dip. That kill you water. Yeah. Wow. So the six holes are par three elevated T to elevated green two big gaping B or three big gaping bunkers at the front. Now the average shot scope user only hits 36% of greens here and this is one you definitely have to hit otherwise it’s tough bogey. Immediate bogey I would almost say. Right, then let’s hit a little drawer at the war memorial. Leave it. There’s just nothing but fear when the ball’s in the air. I thought I was in a perfect It just keep drifting slightly. Please. Please hit the green, please. Wow. The green itself looks bigger on the tea. If you would have known how actually small it was, probably would have been an even more intimidating shot, but I thought I had about 60 ft, but I’ve only got about 40 ft here, which can behold. goes up right to left and goes left to right at the end. Just about pace on this one. Get in. I decided to have a mental thought of don’t whack it in the middle of my back swing then. Don’t know what it is. Just a bit flumxed by the greens. Thinking that they’re faster than they are. Get in. Great effort. Right. Come on, Matt. Make up for that woeful effort. Yeah. Nice save. Trying to make it as hard as possible today. To be fair, that wind I got caught on a few inst. Ladies and gentlemen, um, prepare for what can only be classed as war and attrition. We have that coming at us at quite a rate of knots. The only positive I’ll say about that is you can actually see through it. So, are you sure about that? Yeah, I mean I can still see the Elsa Craig as well for now. Yeah, for now. Rolling cuz in 3 minutes time. Yeah, it’ll be a completely different story. This is one of the new holes that they’ve redesigned. So, they’ve like moved greens out on the seventh and the eighth eighth holes. And then there’s obviously the ninth hole, which is the one by the lighthouse. So this is a proper stretch of golf these next few holes. Real test. Oh no. Wind’s got it in the hill above the bunker. I think the face might have been a little bit open there cuz that is center of center. Oh, not what you want on a par five. You want to be on the fairway giving yourself a chance. Just bracing the drizzle into the face. Luckily, it’s actually gone blue skies over there. 250. I’m going to try and hack it out 150 yards and try and get a pitch from somewhere off this this lie. Look at that. Can literally see the spin on that golf ball. Wow. Oh, I tell you what, there’s nothing better than Scottish golf when it’s getting into that winter. It’s not too cold to be fair, but as the caddy said and the Richard starter, 80 is a great knot today. And it’s things like that where you just I’m only 10 paces off the semi, but I’m struggling to move the ball 150. It’s such a test. It’s It’s I think this and Port Rush are the hardest open tests that you can face. It’s 156 to the flag, which is playing what? 200, do you reckon? I’ve got five iron, man. Yeah, I’m thinking that a drilled five iron. Reckon seven would I could get that up in the air and get it stopping. But we’re going to go five iron. Try and keep it low up the right and let it turn back. Oh no, I’ve healed it. I did that complete amateur thing there, thinking my aim’s not right here. But instead of coming away and solving it, I’m just going to hit it and figure it out. Going to need an up and down now. Right then, this is the new green here. New little complex. It’s quite small green, it looks like, for a par five, but it’s one heck of a view. I’m going to have to land this around here. and let it just trickle on down. Just a bit unlucky with the bounce there. just flew it maybe a yard too far and it caught the downs slope but chances he big push big push a well soft bogey that all right looks decent good shot a lot of bunkers up this one a lot of bunkers two up the right one up the left and then to another green. I’m sure I’ve played this green. Come on, release it, Matthew. Release. No, can’t release it softly. Just in the center. It’s okay. finding the middle but just not getting path and face aligned at the moment which I would say is a key to playing good golf really just one of them it just helps generally club face is king mine was looking at king Robert the Bruce call center as I hit that one 198 middle that does seem right oh dear tough stretch 204 y case here is what I can get up in the air. 200 to the flag, 190 to the front. I think we just try and get a four iron launched and see what we can do. Oh jeez, that got caught. I lost that. You see it on there, was it? I thought it was just at that right hand trap. 74 yards. Now, one thing I really, really, really, really, really, really, really need to do is start hitting fairways. Not just today, just in general. I need to be so much better with driver. That is going to be my mission this winter. 74 yards though. Chipping a putt. Let’s see if we can save it. was on the right line, but wind really took that one. It’s getting hard. I would say that 80 that they predicted for a scratch golfer today is probably just trending slightly upwards with the way the wind’s picked up since we teed off. I reckon it’s probably another 5 miles an hour now. And it is getting it’s getting hard out here. Luckily, it’s not raining though. The battle is going on to this hole. We are fighting our way up. We’ve got the best part of 35 ft for par up the hill. Go the other way. Oh, a bogey. Back to back bogeies when we were going really nicely. Two over. Need to try and escape this nine. Two over at worst and then make a charge on the back nine cuz we were doing well at one point. To be fair, it has got a lot harder. So, I’m still pretty happy. It’s just the T- shots that have really let me down thus far. It’s just so hard driving it in this wind. Well, we get we get to one of the most famous places on a golf course here and it is at Turby. Look at the sun just beaming off the lighthouse there. The halfway house. I think a boil’s in order, isn’t it, Alex? Oh, boil pie sausage roll. You name it, we are having it. It’s 210 yards today. This one I’m thinking it’s like wind’s just straight off our backs here. Is it a four iron and let it How far is it? 210 bit help. I feel like if you fight it then it’s going to push it, isn’t it? Yeah, I feel like 195 front. Sounds a lot. Yeah, it’s just 195 front. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Four iron. Yeah. Yeah. four iron down the left and let the wind do its bidding. What about a shank? [Music] Yeah. Wasn’t good though. Oh dear. Started off so well and it’s all just come apart these last few holes. Well, nine holes pretty much done. We’ve just missed the green on nine, which isn’t ideal, but this little walk that we have with the lighthouse in the distance. Going to take the a little beaten path here is a joy of a walk. It’s It’s not gone to Well, I’d say it’s probably gone to plan actually. Just the tea game has let me down. Driver as always. I just need to be better with just not quite getting driver enough in the fairway really. And then everything else has been good. Held some nice putts, chipped it nice, hit some good iron shots. Just a few soft bogeies there that have both come off the back of two Port shots. So try and scramble an up and down here now. And then see if we can salvage something coming in. We’ve got the bracket still. Two over I think is a little bit harsh for a top 10. Two unders would be incredible. Just gives you an appreciation as to how good as well the uh the pros are when they’re playing when they did play the open championship round here. The ball flight, how they control it. Truly spectacular. But we battle on. The bunker was found. Not my best work, but splash it out hopefully up and down it and we move on. Sit. Oh, I thought that was going to stop about 2 ft closer, but very happy with with that one. Come on, Matthew. Come on. This will be a great up and down. Three. Take that. We’ll take it. It’s not a bad nine. Now we’re I I think the next is actually my favorite hole. Yeah, I really like the next. Get King’s Barnes feel about it. About the 12th of Kings Barnes around by the bay. So stay tuned for that one. But we’re going to go and get a little hot treat now. Going to just just shove it in my face. [Music] Right, we’ve been fed. We’ve been watered at the lighthouse. The back nine awaits. My scotch pie sitting lovely in my belly. I think that just signifies an opening birdie down this 10th hole, which is one of my favorite holes on the course. Now, try and get a few back. The wind’s calming ever so slightly, and the the forecast looks fair for the next few holes. So, let’s see what we can do. Into the deep we go, the 10th T. You get another good look back up at the hotel here. There’s actually just over here as well, there’s a war memorial. One interesting thing that if you didn’t know about the the course here, the actual area and through the golf course where they’re actually building a new course, there was the little Aaron course that was a nine hole. They’re redesigning that, but that used to be around World War times. There was a a landing strip there and a lot of the planes were coming in the RAF were based here. So, there’s a monument for for all the folks who were stationed out of here who sadly gave their lives. But nice nod to them here. But now we’ve got a lovely par five 498 that stretches along the shoreline. Just try and get this driver. Finding a few fairways hopefully on this nine and we can maybe build the score. Maybe let go of that bloody thing. Well, it’s definitely a three shooter now. Rubbish. Right. I’m going bold. I’m going bald play. I’m just doing it. It’s sat okay in the rough and I just feel like there’s nowhere to lay up down there. We’ve got two 30 to the front. So, I’m just going to bash 3-wood and hope for a flyer and get within 30 yards would be my play. That would be my ideal outcome. Absolute knuckle ball. Go. Great shot. Beauty. Just a perfect no spin lie. Yeah, you’re just up there. All right, then. Chip and a putt and we’re golden. That makes I just feel the scotch pie and me little pregnant belly here. Oh, it’s doing me wonders. Right, lovely, lovely layup there. Very fortunate with a bit of a flyer spin. And now we’re chipping straight up the green. can make out the aisle of Aaron through the clouds there. We’ve got Alex practicing his sevy impressions down on the beach if he gets on the green. Just what should we give him? A I give him a 70 70% chance of hitting the green here. Here we go. Oh, he’s clipped it. Oh, he’s clipped it. Spin off the rocks. Oh, unfortunate. That was a pretty good strike, right? Pretty straightforward pitch for me here. Well, what should be a straightforward pitch. It’ll just want to get it running up the green. I don’t want to get it up, let the wind batter it. Or do I? I don’t know. Let’s see how the club sits behind it. Oh, I’m so frustrated with myself. Why didn’t I just bump and run that? I could have puted it closer. Oh, it’s annoying. My chipping’s been so good of late as well. And then I go and do that. 36% of us as though only hit the greens. Right, Matt, that was shambolic. [Music] Get going. Oh no, you’re going to make bogey from here. Oh, annoying, annoying, annoying. Come on. Lock in. Knock it in. What a Oh, just so much indecision then. Well, 184 yards is our 11th hole. Thought I thought I’d stepped up to glory then and then standard frier came out and went no. But it’s okay. Eight more holes to go. We can get it back. 184 downwind. It’s going to be it’s going to be down. Down and across. I’m going to hit seven iron. I feel like it’s sort of maybe across but down. Let’s hit a seven iron. Let’s make a hole in one. Then we can have the most expensive barb bill for a hole in one in the world. Go on, wind. Push it. Push it. Push it. Push it. Well, you’d hate to see where my tea is and where the divot is because tech 184 technically that should have hit the actual fereral according to that divot. But we’ve got a birdie putt. Right, Matthew? Let’s make up for the absolute calamity of the last hole. Never got it high enough. Got the pace. It’s a three. Just it’ll do. Look at that rainbow now. Lovely. [Music] like if I could do that every time and then I’d be on tour right under the monument here. Now 100 yards got a 54 out. Winds off the right. Back in the stance ever so slightly. Try and keep it a little bit lower and get it close. Go, go, go. There we go. Looks like we got about 4 foot. Maybe we’re in the kill zone. Jeff need to get the comeback coming after making that sloppy error on the earlier hole down that par five. We now need to get something happening. A good drive and a good wedge needs topping off with a good putt. Right. Back in the top 10. Back in the top 10. Got to scurry on down now through the next few. See what we can do. The only thing is we’ve got a a tough par four coming and a par five straight back into the wind. Luckily the finish though. 16 17 18. The hard ones are going to be down and off the right. A lovely view as we get up onto this 13th hole. 385 yds down the wind. bunkers. One, two, three, four, all down the left and a load of scrub land down the right. I feel like after that good driver, try and do the same. Make a good swing, stay committed, and go from there. Come on then. 385, just a cozy swing. Get it on. It’s good. I thought the wind would have Yeah, I just didn’t get it up in the air enough to to benefit from the wind really, but it’ll do. Be a wedge. Tap it in. Your boy’s back. Everyone hit that like and subscribe if you’re enjoying it. Right, 75 yards to this flag. Slap bang in the middle. This is a shot where like 10 foot realistically has to be the minimum because it is so basic. Shot. Pulled it a little bit, but it’ll do. The good ones are getting a lot better. Or the bad ones are getting better, I should say. I think we’ve hit our 10 foot thing. What have we got? Seven. I’d say that’s almost tall level. That was pretty pretty darn good. The the short game stuff is paying off. Just need to make sure this put goes in really to keep it going. To keep it going. The fight back is on. I’m getting under par. I’m doing it. just commented curse myself then. Right then this will go right if it wants to go anywhere but straight at it pace and it’s in. That’ll do. We’ll do it. We got a par five now. Can he get three on the spin? Um this is as daunting as it looks, Alex. 511 yards straight up the Can you see the green in the distance? Yeah. Yeah. 511’s playing 711 today. I mean, this is probably up there with one of the prettiest holes in taking account that you can’t see the sea. Yeah. The lighthouse there on the right. Beautiful. It is brilliant. It’s gone a lot calmer now, isn’t it? So, we got It’s not gone. We’re just lower out in June. Yeah. True. True. Uh wind over here. 224 the one on the right. 248. The one on the left to get by the day. Why can’t I do that every time? Nice shot. Cheers. Right, that deserves a Lucasade. I feel like I’ve let Scotland down. Actually, we’ve been Yeah, we’ve been in the country for more than 6 hours and we’ve not had an iron brew yet. I can only apologize to the people of Scotland. That is two out of the last three fairways. Is that me? 36% ticked off for shot scope. 14 fairways. I think I think I’ve done it. The next quandry we face. Just have a look at this. 5’11. Cold and windy, folks. We’re just going to bash a 3-wood. Could do with a mini driver at this point. Don’t get that trap in between the two traps. probably a full pitching wedge in. What a slo this hole is. Thank gosh for preferred today cuz we’re in that old divot there. Comment down below what you think on the old divot rule. If you find yourself in one should you get to move it. 71 straight uphill into wind. I’m going to hit a little 50. Just try and chip it. Play a little feelely 50 never and never got going. Really nipped it as well. Probably needed to play the same shot with like a pitching wedge or a nine iron then cuz never got that up the hill. That was actually a par six today. So that’s another birdie. Wow. That’s some hole that into the wind, isn’t it? These next few are really good. Is it driver? Driver 3wood and a pitch. 180 yards, sir. This is similar to the other one we played off the left like 11 11. Yeah. Yeah. I’m at the same club. Yeah. It’s more off the right the wind now, isn’t it? It was off the left there. Yeah. But I feel like the same amount but on the opposite side. Yeah. I might hook an eight iron. Well, just hit an eight iron. Let it turn in. Well out, Matt. That divot. You could sleep in there. That was such a a miss. Oh, my brain was just not at the races then. Completely elsewhere. We did all the hard work for the last few holes and then that brain fart has left me in a tricky spot here. Got to throw this up. And probably 10 foot by is a good result, Matt. Right. Lock in now. Lock in. Come on. That was about 4 ft away from being in the hole. Just a terrible kick. Hey, help. T-shot that caused that one. Can’t do anything about it. Well, when you fat an eight iron that much, I think you deserve a bogey. That was terrible. Wowers. Come on. Right. Few good holes now to bring it home. Can we get it done? Can we finish in the top 10? We’re on the cusp. We’re on the cusp. It’s a 420 par4 with a big brook in front of the green. So, see the trap that’s down the fairway on the right just in the inside almost like the end right edge of the range. Yeah. If you’re on the right edge of the range, if your ball finishes on that or the last bay, yeah, you’re good. Save it more. A1 roar in the basket. Yeah, that was Harmon last week. I felt it like I just trying to save the face so much and felt my ankle like my wrist, not my ankle. Reach. Can’t go short. Can’t go right. So, I’ll aim left. 135 downwind pitching wedging. Just go a tad left. Oh, couldn’t get to that ball. That’s what you call a bail out. Good job there. It’ll do. It will do. Come on. Well, we managed to avoid going in the water down the right. Take a par all day every day here. If we hold it, huge bonus. And then if we can creep in at a top 10, I’ll be absolutely buzzing. It’s just one of those days where it hurts. I thought halfway, no it’s not got a chance. 3/4 of the way I was like, it can’t miss. When it stopped, I was like, just hate golf. This is a pretty intimidating shot. Yeah, this is this is I think one of the hardest T- shots. 449 yards the 17th. You play up to a raised fairway that then dips and rises up to the green. Always been a a tricky one. A card wreck as some may say just right of the trap. So, we’re okay, right? Not the ideal drive. Just bailed out. Got a little scared on that one after some great drives on the other holes. But now we’ve got 182, which is the same as that par three. We won’t talk about the strike, but I’m going to hit the same club. Just a full full sand iron. Bit room just straight at it really. Let the wind push it on. Please miss that trap. Yep, it has. Should be pin eye. We might might just be chipping, but I’ve got a feeling it’ll be on the fringe. Just slightly on the fringe. So scrape a par here and then one of the most daunting T- shots down 18. We could get top 10. That’d be big. Breaking breaking out around here today. Go right. Right. Go right. Go right. Well, those last few pace puts, considering my pace was all over the show at the start of the video, the start of the round. We’ve tidied up lovely. Right, one hole to go. We’re inside the top 10. Will he be a Tom Watson and be the sorry loser or will he get it done? Yeah, it’s a it’s a tough old doozy this one. It’s 415 yards. I’m thinking I might hit four iron. No driver. But I’m also thinking if you hit driver with like a hard cut at the steps, you get away from from the trouble. And with it being downwind, I feel like that’s the shot. I’m doing it. I’m going bold cuz I’m such a There’s a top 10 riding on it. There is a top 10. And You know, just got to ask yourself, if I was in the open now and I had my chance of coming back next year, what would I do? Slice it out of town. Driver, let’s go for it. We’re only here once. I’m going to tow it. Did you see that down? Yeah, I saw it bounce like two or three times. Was it left of the go? No, it was low. All right, great. Should have hit four iron going into it. Yeah, not by the gor, but if I can get it on the green out of the lie, I am not sure because it is hella hella thick. Wow, Alex has hit one so far down there. I’m going to have to go to the right edge of the green if we can get it on. I’ve got 130 to the front, but I got my 54 out. Yeah, that was always going to be the case. It was so bad the lie. Right, up and down needed to get the top 10. Can we do it? Right, 101 yards. We need an up and down. We need an up and down 58 3/4 swing to the shoulder. Hey folks. Folks, it’s still alive. We’ve got I reckon about what looks from here to be about 6 to 8 ft. We shall see. Come on. I’m quite impressed with the first shot given how deep it is. Seriously. About that juicy would be a good word. I’ve never topped a 54 degree wedge. I have now. I have now. Oh, use the hole. Use the hole. Cheers, pal. Really enjoyed that. Tomorrow, game on, guys. Check the 30 shot challenge out with Alex coming very soon. Turbury, thanks for having us. Pure pure golf course. Yeah, he’s not my number one. I have to say he’s your number one. Yeah, here in C Stewart. Wow.

Beautifully bleak is how I’d describe that place … would have liked to have seen some of Alex’s shots 👍
Sorry just had to unsubscribe. Trump!!
Well played, good lap 👏
Why are so many YouTubers now heading to trump courses? Shiels, then Finch and now Matt. There are 000s of courses to choose from. Bollocks to this 'its only golf, let's not mix sport and politics" pish
Enjoyed this one, tough autumn conditions, great views and decent company with Alex walking around with you. 👌🏼
Enjoyed this, Matt. I played the Duke's course at St. Andrews a few years ago in worse weather — still wouldn't have missed it! When you want to come back to the USA, keep us in mind — it's 78F and sunny here in San Diego today 🙂
Sorry, I usually enjoy your course vlogs but I’m not going to watch anything that benefits Trump.
Hi Matt, Trump Turnbery and the Ailsa is such a special course, playing on a sunny summer evening is truly spectacular. Mr Trump has created two of the best courses in the UK with Ailsa and Trump Aberdeen old and arguably up there with the top courses in the world.
Would agree with other comments that it would have been nice to see you and Alex compete over the Ailsa but did enjoy the other challenge. 👍 The Ailsa needs to be back on the rota as it's arguably the best open course..
Nice to see a pro can even take four strokes fron 10 yards off the green lol
As long as the employees get paid, I have no issue with this club. I would never play it, but well done for taking this challenge on, can be a tough course. Although… all I think of when seeing the iconic building is Janey Godley's iconic image of it. (google it) 😜. Glad the locals didn't leave you a gift in any of the holes.
great course, crap owner
