[Music] Hey guys, welcome back to Modern Golf. Hope you’re having a great day and better week. If you are new here, my name is Jeff. This is Modern Golf. We review all things for golf from shoes and apparel like we’re talking about today to equipment and bags and tech and really everything in between. The number one request so far in the last really year has been when are you going to review Sunday Red? So, we’ve been testing Sunday Red shoes for a little bit now, and I want to can I want to go over the shoes first, and then we’ll explain the clothing because the clothing has three very different fits. So, if you’re buying this for yourself or buying this for a gift, I think it’s important it’s important to understand this isn’t a one-sizefits-all with this brand. Let’s first get into shoes. There are three shoes that Sunday Red off offers. The the Osprey, uh, which is a soft spike version. We are not going to really get detailed on that one today. I have them. I can tell you they may be in the top three most comfortable golf shoes. We’re going to save those for a later run. Uh because I really haven’t fully tested those. I’ve worn them a number of times, but not a number of times golfing more casually, let’s say, than golfing. So stay tuned. We’ll definitely get a review on those at some point in the next couple months. But these are the ones we’ve tested. So I wanted to get into the Magnolia um as well as the Cypus. The Cypress was really, I would say, the OG, the original one. uh for this brand. If you’re unfamiliar with Sunday Red, yes, this is Tiger Woods brand. This is an uh under the umbrella of Tailor Made, but they run independently. Um what I’m astonished about, if you had all the money in the world and you said, um, “Hey, let’s put a shoe and clothing brand company together.” It would take you some time. This company just started in February of 24, so less than two years ago. Uh and they’re really making a dent. We’ll get into what we think of their product as we go, but I’m going to bring my other camera around so you guys can get a better view of kind of what comes with these shoes and also how these shoes fit and all other good stuff. So, the first one up is the Pioneer Magnolia. Uh, this is the wing tip. Uh, we we’ll get into all the details of this shoe. I went true to size and you can see here I went nine and a half and they fit flawlessly. I had zero issues whatsoever. This is a blue shirt style. So, a blue shirt style is one that opens up uh easy, and we’ll get into that as we go, but I want to get into some of the details. Sunday Red sends you two laces. These are the laces they come with. This is like a um treated nylon. Uh you know, it almost feels like there’s a almost like a leather lace. Pay attention to the details with these shoes. And I’ll get into this, why I say this. Um and you’ll see here as we go. Metal tips here. And we’ll explain why I like the metal tips. Uh they also send you a little bag of golf tees. So you get I think there’s two or three different sizes, a shorter one and a taller one with the Sunday red and the uh Sunday Red logo. There are two insoles and this is important as well. So if you’re coming from a G4 shoe and love that kind of pebbly feel, it has that. Um it also has this. So I’ve tried it with both. I’ll hold off my opinion till the end, but it does come with two different insoles. Uh, also comes with shoe bags, which I think a lot of people like because it’s a very premium look. And again, we talked about the shoelaces. There’s the golf tees. So, let’s talk about the shoes themselves. Again, I just wore these yesterday, so I hope they’re dry and I cleaned them up. Trit true to size. We talked about very comfortable golf shoes straight out of the box. Um, you know, sometimes when you get new shoes, it takes a few wearings. Not with these at all. So, I’m going to give you a quick tour of these and then we’ll kind of get to the Cyprus and then we’ll get into the clothing side of things. But a common uh a very cool looking uh wing tip. I did not know really when I first saw these what kind of the thinking was with these. Um but after wearing these a number of times, I really like the aesthetic. I also really like and I’ll show you guys in this camera here as well, the laces has a little reflective and a little bit of hint of the tiger red, the Sunday red in here. So, very cool. brogging across the shoe has some very nice details um that a lot of people I would say this is in comparison to Fjoy look which is not an insult um also has the Sunday red logo on this one as we turn this guy around it’s a very cool looking shoe comes I believe this one comes and I’m going to have to double check here this shoe comes in six colors and I’ll put the colors up now uh again very comfortable shoe very high-end feeling golf shoe leather wrapped wrapped Achilles inside. No cloth here too stained and ruin your shoe. What I will say, what I really liked about the details and you can see here and I’ll put up has a pebble grain kind of around in here. Smooth leather in here again pebble in here and smooth. So, there is a difference. Uh there are some very cool colorways again that if you really want to get into um some bright colors. Again, we talked about these lace tips and the reason I say this is because when you’re lacing this shoe up and I’ll try to put some video up here. They’re super easy to lace up. if you’re not trying to punch them through. They really go in super easy. Again, the fit in here is heavenly. It has a nice waterproof warranty. Now, let’s talk about the traction of this shoe. Um, and I’m not going to do this with the Cypress cuz it’s literally identical. This is, um, I would say league leading. This is the some of the best traction I have ever used on a golf shoe. Um, no slippage. They dig in good. They don’t destroy your greens. Um, if you’re playing at a country club or what have you. really comfortable golf shoe. Had no issues, no fatigue with this shoe whatsoever. And you guys can see, and I’ll try to put pictures up. I actually have been testing both of the insoles to kind of see how these fit and feel. Again, I’ll hold my judgment here till I go to the Cypress. But love these. A fantastic golf shoe. And again, true to size for those. Retail is 275 with these. So, this box is a little different. Uh it opens up a little different, but this is the Cypress. Uh what you guys will see here is they do send you uh some information about the brand and also this is the packing list uh when I ordered my stuff. So again we talked about the two different laces. What I’ll tell you is one of these laces belongs to this shoe and I apologize uh but you get two different tips. So as you’ll see some has one is for the all-white cypress and the other one is for uh the magnolia. But we talked about uh the different insoles, we talked about the shoe bags. I’ll talk about the cypress. So, the Cypress is what I would call like a Vthroat uh more like a dress shoe. I’d say more like a a traditional Fjoy shoe. Obviously, this is not a Fjoy shoe. This is a sleeker to me. Uh I want to say more modern looking golf shoe, but we’ll get into the details of this. This is harder for me to put on. I have narrow feet and a higher instep, so it’s a little harder for me to get in, but what once it’s on, I’m connected to it. Not that I wasn’t connected with that one. Just a little different model. Uh really have enjoyed them both, but again um this one a little more difficult. Um I was dare I say sweat inducing uh shoe to put on, but really have enjoyed this shoe. So let’s talk about do a tour of this one as well. Beautiful pebble grain in here. You can see this perforated uh leather on here. This has a little different uh back. So the heel counter here is a little different with the Tiger with the Sunday Red logo. Again, the same a little different. Um, where this has kind of a double stitching, and I’ll show you guys here. So, this has more of a kind of a fancier double stitching, this is more of a kind of contemporary single stitching around the shoe. Again, very cool looking shoe. Have enjoyed this. And the outsole, the outsole is the same as this, so I won’t bore you with all that stuff. But again, I swapped out my laces uh with the rope laces versus the wax nylon um because I just like these a little better. They give a little more style, let’s say. Um, and they’re are they actually easy to stay tied. I know that’s the point of wax laces to kind of stay shut. Again, this is also, I believe, 275. This shoe comes in eight colorways. Uh, the comfortability to me once it’s on and once they’ve broken in, it took me no time to break these in. Uh, I would say it’s a 10 out of 10. Very comfortable golf shoes. The waterproofing is great. Had no issues whatsoever. And again, I’ve been testing both insoles as you guys can see in this shoe. Uh, and I will say I kind of like the traditional one better. Um, I know a lot of people like this cushiony one. this cushiony one at some point feels like you’re almost slipping in it. Um but but really like it. So that’s the Cyprus. Now let’s talk about the golf polos. So the polos come in three fits. Refined, performance, and heritage. Uh refined is kind of what I would consider a contemporary fit. Uh the TWW performance is the slimmest fit and the heritage is I would say the easiest fit. and then not it’s not an overly boxy fit. What I’m going to do is I’m going to pause this uh and we’ll come back and I’ll show you the three different fits and then we’ll get into the details of the shirts kind of as we go. Okay, so this is the Heritage. This is uh the largest fitting uh model, let’s say. And I’m I’m going to try not to talk without the microphone because I’m good for doing that. But this is the most I would say generous fit. Um I think it fits great. This is a large. My chest, as we’ve talked about in the past, is 42 in. cuz my waist is between 33 and 34. This shirt has about a 30 inch length. Um, so yes, you could wear it tucked in or not tucked in and it fits great. Has a threeb button placket which I like. Some people say it’s traditional. Um, the people know me, I like actually buttoning all three of them. I like this uh this material is maybe the softest material I’ve ever worn in a golf shirt. Again, this is probably more of an office traditional looking going to a country club kind of fit, but I don’t think this is not contemporary enough or modern enough where you could wear it out. Uh, again, I I’ll spin around here. There are no details on the back with this one. Uh, just the logo here, the Sunday red logo here. Nothing on the sleeves again. Nothing on here on any either of the sleeves uh again or the placket. Just kind of uh mother of pearl buttons. But very in very nice fitting shirt. And again, this is the traditional fit. Um, and this is from their heritage line. This one retails at 13. All right, so this is the refined. And I and I’ll tag everything, so don’t worry about it. I’ll put it in the video so you guys know exactly what shirt is which. This is the refined. This is what I would say the contemporary fit. Um, probably my favorite fit of the three. Um, it’s a little, you can see a little tighter in the chest, a little more cut in in the waist. And again, you can certainly look at other pictures on their website and I’ll tag them as well. Some things I’ve noticed with this line. Um, and this is gray with pink. Uh, and I’ll try to get some better pictures. The logo is a little smaller. Um, little different material used to print the logo. Again, no logos on um the sleeves. And the Sunday red logo is very small here on the back yolk. Love the fit of this. These have all washed up really, really well. Again, if I had to pick one, you know, this would probably be the fit. Although I love a three button placket, but really good fitting shirt. Again, this is a large. And again, this is uh the refined uh what I would what I would consider a contemporary fit. A little bit in between both. And so the last one is going to be the TWW performance. And you’ll see how this one slims down as well. Okay, so this is the TWW Performance. Uh one, this material is unbelievably incredible. Sleeves are a little shorter as you guys can see on this one. Has the little bit Sunday red logo just like uh the contemporary fitting one. Also has you guys can see the lo logo on the back here as well. Um also I think it’s the same length but it feels like it fits a little shorter. Um these buttons I are more snaps. Um so a little more sporty. You guys can see the material is very different. I’m going to try to suck my gut in here. Um but the material is very different. And I’ll put pictures up, some close-ups so you guys can get some idea of what the material is really like. But wore this one last week. Last week, um, incredible fitting shirt. Love it. Uh, this is not so trim where I couldn’t wear it. Um, but that’s probably why I would lean more towards a contemporary one, the refined fit. Um, but really like all of them and they I’ve golfed in all three of them and worn at the office. I think those two for sure. This one I have not worn yet. Um, but really have enjoyed all three. And this price point is also one I believe 130 for this one. So the real question is then do I recommend this stuff right? Not the least expensive product out there. And really who is its competition? Uh I would say it’s competitors. I know a lot of people are going to say well Nike is their competitor and Adidas and those guys. I don’t think so with this. I think this is a Peter Mar G4 Whole Earnest and Bourne. That’s who this world is competing with. Um, I’ve been really impressed to be fair and even more impressed in the timeline that it took them to get this kind of put together and the brand they’re building. The shoes have been fantastic. The clothing has been great. Uh, down the road we’ll get into their outerwear uh, as well as when we maybe we review the Osprey uh, will do some of their outerwear as well. It’s really been great stuff. Again, this is high-end. This is not a, you know, $30 golf polo. These are really high-end. I’d say some of the best of the best in the golf industry.
