Link Hong Kong Open | Round 3 Highlights | The International Series | Asian Tour | 2025
[Music] It’s round three of the Link Hong Kong Open. The course itself is a par 70, not the longest, 6,710 yd. The greens a touch quicker again at exactly 11 ft on the stimp meter. As always, let’s bring you up to date with what’s been happening. Thomas Peters, this wonderfully talented Belgian with a birdie putt at the second. Lovely start to the round for Thomas. Only two high knot. And with rounds of 6266, Louisen starts the three back. This at the first for his birdie, the second hardest hole on the golf course. He moves to 13 under par. And Scott Hen, the champion of Hong Kong Open back in 2014, starts the day four back. Made a routine par at the first and with this T-shot. find his first birdie of the day moving to 12 under. Charles how the third the American starting the day three back parked his first two holes made his first bird of the day on the par five third it wasn’t to end there on the par 3 fifth difficult hole this very slick putt and that moves him to 14 under par in the final group part his opening two holes starting the day two back that was his third on the par five third led to his first birdie of the Jazz Jane Watson on starting to feel like his swing is coming back and part is opening three holes made that birdie on the fourth. He moves to 14 under par. So let’s update the leaderboard then. Tom McKibben back to even power for the day. 15 under one ahead of how Jin Watinand and Uline and Kib bit of a sloppy bogey on the second with a three putt. This is looking good though. [Applause] Everything slopes right to left on that section of the green. A little wind down. This has flighted nice and low. Oh, what a shot. I just want to feel like you stopped this ball about 15 ft short. Let the slope and gravity take over. It’s a scary putt for Jazz from the back of five. No. Yes. He stole one there, didn’t he? Bonus, isn’t it? Whoa. It’s a slippery slider for us. And this one on a pretty nice line if it’s got the right pace. Making a big move for the big American Charles Porter. Four under to make the turn this at 10th. Half the holes he’s played. Well played the sensible shot from 136 yds. But this is another putt like Jazz as you’re just trying to tiptoe into the front lip. Yeah, the key for the players here at the seventh is make sure you hit the fairway. Right half of the fairway is more preferable, but good opportunity for Harold and he takes full advantage of that shot. Brilliant iron shot. 10 yards closer now for Jazz. breeze has settled just a little, but again, players who come to the Hong Kong Golf Club year in year out know the best putt to leave yourself on seven to any pin is from slightly underneath it. It’s okay. It’ll have some break on it, though. Well, he’s over it really quickly. Thomas Peters just 99 yds left. He’ll generate some spin with this. This is one of those putts that can just settle the nerves down a little bit. Get some confidence going. Still plenty of holes left to be played. Oh, that’s good. Very important. [Applause] Uline already won international series events in England and in Qatar both last year to complete the hattick here in Hong Kong. What a putty stroke that is. Some movement from his left Wow, that’ll make him feel a whole lot better. Ding. Talented Chinese player. A tip in for a birdie in a short par 410 which the tea has been moved up today. So it’s actually drivable. MJ Magguire has elected to lay up the tea. The layup would be with just about a seven iron or so [Applause] up and over the trees. This should just be a wedge. Oh, what a shot. [Applause] Just got to get the speed correct. Make the second putt as easy as possible. Almost didn’t need a second pipe. That was a terrific effort from this one’s pretty high. needs to go just a touch. Steady, steady. [Music] Ahead to the 11th. MJ Maguire. Second shot for the American. Having to go under the trees, but the pin is front left. Oh, what a shot he’s played. What a shot. Well done. Oh my goodness. [Applause] We have a contender for shot of the week. She’s heading toward the middle of the screen. Some days you get lucky, some days you don’t. Watch how quickly he pulls the trigger once that club settles behind the ball. It’s a beautiful little tight draw. Oh, that close to a hole in one. Damage limitation only a bogey. MJ Maguire, can he make it? A birdie at 12 to follow the birdie at 10 and Eagle at 11. He certainly can. MJ Maguire moves to within two. [Applause] It’s all about trying to guess the direction which usually comes off the right of the wind. [Applause] Scott Hend looking for his fourth birdie of the round and makes it solid golf again from the Aussie four birdies. The rest pars he’s right in there at 15 under. Yeah, just all about pace this one for MJ Maguire. Pretty flat. Maybe just a touch uphill at the end. Gentle movement from right to left. Thomas Peters for birdie at the par 312. Thank you. Just finds the right corner of the hole. Louis Tasen two under par for his round. really still out here. A wonderful crowd surrounding the 12th Tate towards this group. Oh, this is looking good if it’s enough. Oh, great shot. Just enough of a bother coming out of the rough and this uphill green. He’s calculated that perfectly. Beautiful shot by Howell. He’s got a good angle and a very flat line wind just off the left trying to draw one into this whole location and it is looking good could make another one today. Anthony’s thinking about an albatross who was rolling right online but yeah is a closer putt than he had yesterday. Yeah, this is another great opportunity. He should roll pretty smooth, gently from left to right. [Applause] Put the ball back in his stance. Oh, great shot. Oh, it almost went in. Suan, I know you guys can’t see it. It touched the side of the hole. Oh, very well done. He’s given himself an opportunity for par now. Pumac Sansson on the last this for a birdie at 18. Not just any old birdie for his fourth in a row. Well done, Pum. Great finish. One place he doesn’t want to miss this is in that short trap. Expect this one to be flighted down a little. He’s on a pretty aggressive line. Just got to carry a little. That’s a brave shot. What a shot. [Applause] Now hen for birdie at 17. Yes. Well done. [Music] What a day for MJ Maguire. A 61 nine under par and he moves into the lead. Everything slopes back to front in that portion of the green. This needs to go. Oh. Brilliant. That’s on a pretty nice line if it just stays up. Stay up. It did. Michael Shin. Nice way to finish this round. That should be right. Four under 66. Looked like that just came off a little bit left off the club face, but just hung on. And Tom McKibben takes a one-stroke lead heading into the 18th. Should fall to his right. Such a pure role he puts on it just to give himself just a little bit more breathing space. No, good attempt, but it’s going to be a par four and he’ll lead by one coming into the final round of the Link Hong Kong. [Applause] Two 65s and a 66 in the final group. It could be one of the great golfing days tomorrow. I’m sure it will be. Thanks for watching the Asian Tour on YouTube. Don’t forget to like and subscribe.
Overnight leader Tom McKibbin kept his hopes of a wire-to-wire victory alive at the Link Hong Kong Open but the Northern Irishman is being pushed all the way with the American duo of MJ Maguire and Peter Uihlein breathing down his neck at the top of a busy leaderboard going into the final round at the Hong Kong Golf Club.
McKibbin had started the day with a two-shot lead over Uihlein after following up his course-record 60 with a five-under 65, his second consecutive bogey-free round.
A second round of 65 on the spin kept the Legion XIII man in front on 20-under, after Maguire had roared into life with a nine-under 61 to move to 19-under. Two late bogeys from playing partner Uihlein (65) left the Range Goats GC man a shot further behind on 18-under.
