Playing the Old Course at St Andrews has always been a dream of mine — and thanks to my friends over at Hidden Links, that dream became a reality.

In this video, I take on the final 7 holes at the birthplace of golf. This place is truly special, and getting to experience it firsthand was something I’ll never forget.

After trying to plan a trip like this on my own before, I can confidently say I’ll never do it again without them. The experience with Hidden Links was on another level from start to finish.

I’m Kyle Bergshshire, the longest hitter in the world and a three-time World Long Drive champion. Today I’m taking on the final seven holes at the Old Course at St. Andrews, the home of golf. It’s a stretch that’s tested legends for over 500 years. From the Road Hole to the Walk Up 18, this is as iconic as it gets. Have a little fun here and try to try to drive the green. That’s how you play the Road Hole. Yeah, I’ve birdied every hole I’ve ever played at St. Andrews so far. Do I have what it takes to finish strong at St. Andrews? Let’s find out. What’s up, guys? We have an insanely special video, the last seven holes, the old course at St. Andrews, and we’re also going to be trying to drive the road hole, the 17th hole for the first time ever. I want to give a huge shout out to my friends at Hidden Links Golf Tours for organizing literally, it’s going to be just you and me. Seven holes in the morning at St. Andrews by ourselves. I mean, it’s just incredible what they’ve been able to put together and I think you guys are really going to enjoy this. I mean, it’s about as good as it gets. Let’s get into it. This is going to be incredible. All right, I’m on 12. First hole of the day. 299. Try to put it on the green with the one arm. Shouldn’t be too bad. It’s crazy hitting T- shots on this course at like whatever it is 8 or 9 in the morning. Something you don’t experience too much. Right, you’ve got 56 y. Okay, you’ve got that hill just before it. So, if you even just catch that and let it roll down or fly it up and it’ll be totally fine either way. And if anything, a little right at the end just with the way it’ll break down. Okay. Yeah, I’ll do uh I’m in St. Andrew, so I think I got to play a bump and run. That’s how they do it over here, right? Yeah, go for it. All right. So, a little long. Didn’t think I had that much juice this morning. So, I’m just going to play into the hill, the pitchy wedge. See if we can get the trickle down. [Music] Thank you. Good shot. Thanks. Let’s go. Pretty straight in putt. Yeah, just as long as it’s firm, it shouldn’t do too much. What’s that? As long as it’s a firm putt, it shouldn’t do too much. I’ll probably favor the right center. birdie. Nice. Good read. Thank you. Appreciate it. That was a great pitch shot. Yeah, I birdied every hole I’ve ever played at St. Andrews so far. So, the hill is roughly 290 to cover. That’s the one straight in front of us. Okay. You’ve got these bunkers and everything over it, but other than that, it’s a long green, so you’ve got room for it to like bounce up and everything. So, and we can just leave it right here. And we’ll have like So, you want to play it like about 2 roughly if you’re wanting to play it to this area here. So, right right at that trap. Yeah. So, either go straight ahead right of the traps or you can play into this bit here. It gives you a nice channel up. It’s an easier line in with where the flag is there. All right. Go with a four iron here. See what we can do with that. All right. On hole 13, 414 par4. Going to hit a four iron here. Try to get to the end of the fairway before it pinches in. Should leave about 130, 140. If I can hit a good make a good swing. Yeah, beauty should be okay. Not like I know this course. So, I mean, I’m just trying to say that to say it. I think having a uphill eye will help it stop too. Play a 125 shot with the 52. Thank you. Great shot. Thank you. Thank you. That was awesome. I had a good I had someone doing a good job of clubbing me. Seems like a little uphill. Little bit uphill. Touch right to left halfway along here. It does level off again. Okay. When it gets the hole, I’d say play it a little right to left to start. So, you play it out to the right a little bit. Just a touch, but not much like half ball right cuz it does come back a bit. Okay. Stretch, Adam. Seven. I was corrected by the locals. Where I got the six from. Yeah. Can’t make it all the time. You’ve kind of got two fairways to work with. Okay. This one up here is in line with that big red building in town. To the end of that, you have about like 360 roughly. Okay. So, I’m kind of thinking go down this fairway on the left. I like that. And that’s kind of towards that big steeple on the left. Okay. You’ve got more room to work there. Probably at like 350ish, 340ish. Yeah, I’d still go with that number, but gives you a better angle in as well. So, go with the one cuz I’ll probably run out of room with the driver. Yeah, that’s fine. All right. On to hole 14. 527 yd par five double fairway. Going to aim up the left side or left fairway at at the steeple. The one iron should have just enough room before I run into a really tight fairway. Shouldn’t be too bad cuz it’s in the rough. That just means I can go in with a shorter club. All right, so we’re on the 14th hole of the historic St. Andrews. is about as good as it gets. It’s like 8:00 a.m. Not a lot of people on the course and we’re just starting to come into some pretty cool sightelines. So, why don’t you help us help the viewers at home be able to take this in describe some of the Yeah. the landmarks of St. Andrews and what makes this place so special. It’s it’s so special. Good morning. Uh once we turn around of the last home 14, this is when we start hitting balls into the town. So the lines that you’re now taking off the TE’s are off the church steeple, off the steeple of the scores building. There’s no other place that you’re playing golf in the town. And this is the town of St. Andrews. And this is what makes it so unique. So every single hole from here on out, you’re picking a line off one of the buildings in the town. And ideally not hitting into the buildings, right? No. Well, 17 and 18, you’re not allowed to do that. So you you’ll be playing on those, too. But this is this is the par five. So this is going to be a great start for you on your way into the town. Yeah, I think we’re going to have a great time. This is going to be an absolute treat. You so far? Oh, I am loving it. This was This is about as good as it gets. Let’s go. It’s golf in its pierce form, guys. I think we do the go with pitching wedge. Let it jump on us a little bit. See if we can get some height on it. All right. So, just a touch over 200. I’m going to play it to about 200. I think I’m going to get a slightly jumpy lie here. And just play it right at that pin. See if we can get close. Not a bad miss. Just glad it stayed short of the people. There’s a couple of bunkers there. So hopefully you just Okay, just a little short and left. You gonna pitch it in and ideally have it camber off to the right over the mount and then pitch back to the hole. Get it too much. Yeah. I got to hit the weight room. Do you see the little white house on the left? Mhm. Just right side of that is a good line. Gives you a good angle. Okay, perfect. I go with five iron to keep it short of Yeah. that number. All right. On hole 15, 415 yard par4. Got about 300ish to the bunkers. Accounting for all that. I’m going to hit a five iron here. Right at that right side of that white house should be okay as long as I run that trap. Okay, so we got 135 slight jumper lie here. little bit downhill and chug down on the the 56. Let’s go right at the pin. Terrific shot. Love it. Great shot. Yeah, thank you. Good yardage. Looks like quite uphill right to left. Yeah, played about a foot outside. Some tough little greens here. I know. It seems like we can take a right of those traps and carry them and being even that rough there seems okay. Yeah. So, I was going to say option one is going left of it. This first one here, it’s just something rough like you had back on the second shot. It’s not too bad and it’s a little bit safer or you just take it along to where the greenside bunkers are. And you’d want about a 350 roughly just to make sure you don’t get into I think uh 330. Looks like we got a little bit of the pins on the right side so we can we got a little room. Mhm. So I’ll go with go with the 4 iron. Get it over carry those traps in the left. Yeah, that’s fine. I don’t mind a shot in the rough here. All right. On a 16 37 par4. Going to play a 4 iron just over those traps on the left. Might be in the rough, but I don’t think that’s a huge problem. I think we just stayed in on it. What’s that? I think he just stayed in. Yeah, I think we got a little help from that tailwind. Straighten it out. Got a few on there. Thanks so much. Yes, sir. Have a good morning. All right. So, we got 110 left. I’m try to carry about 105. We’re in a bit of an uphill slope, so I’m going to keep that in mind. But, uh, 105 carry. Just just got keep the shot simple. All right, we’re still putting There’s a lot been tracking. You’re doing your part now. It’s got to start hitting the ball. But yeah, we’re on 17 the road hole, famous road hole. And we’re have a little fun here and try to try to drive the green. I have no idea the right line. So, we’re just going to take a swing and see what happens. That’s about best one. 346 carry. Pretty awesome. That’s the closest. 340 346. That’s almost pen high. Really? 346 carry. Wow. Wow. I I don’t think you’re going to do better than that. That’s incredible. That was incredible. That’s 32 inches left. Great job, bud. Great job. That was awesome. You’re 12 yards left to the green. Sick. That’s tough. If I take it any further, I’m going to smoke a window. You’re putting really? Yeah. Have you seen that before, anyway? Never. You must have taken a big hop or bounce. Look, this is the front of the green. You look, you know what I’m saying? You basically drove the green. That’s how you play the road hole, right? That’s how you play driveable par4. That’s really good. Really good. I’m very happy with that. That was a scary putt. Yeah, that was a scary putt. Play it right center. Yeah, I just keep it in the hole still. Okay. Yeah, that’s how you play the road hole. Great read. Really good. Well done. All right. Well, we’re here at the Sistine Chapel of Golf, 18th Old St. Andrews. It really just doesn’t get any better than this. Got 354. I’m going to take it at that ois out in the distance. And I’m just left. It’ll go just left at the pin. See if we can run it up. Got three iron in hand. I’m playing a lot of run here. See if he gets a good bounce. It’s not a bad shot the right side. Managed to hit the widest fairway in golf. Probably want to land us about 72 70. Yeah. Give it some room to run. A little bit of break right to left. So just about a yard or two. Okay. Chased up decently. Just glad I didn’t hit it two feet. It’s pretty tight lie. Bit right to left. Would you almost say it’s a little downhill? Yeah, a little bit, but not crazy. I would actually play it flat cuz it’s a slow move. Yeah. That in the hole. I had a ton of fun. Gosh, that was really good. Hope you enjoyed it. You were great. So, we’ve just had what I like to think of is one of the coolest mornings of my life. Basically, the back nine of St. Andrews, the old course, to myself, and as good of a weather as you could possibly have it. I mean, how do you guys put that together? How do you organize that? It’s it’s a great question. And I think we’re we’re really privileged and lucky to be able to bring golfers back to the home of golf. This is if golfers can come somewhere once in their life, they want to come to where it all started. And we’re very luckily and privileged to be we’re an authorized provider with the Lynx Trust. So we have guaranteed access tea times here at the Oak. So we can what we’ve done for you this morning we can do for our clients but you know we don’t have unlimited numbers. So there’s a way that you can still play the old course via what we call the ballot system which is like a lottery and you can still have the day before they can try singles daily draw. So there’s multiple different ways that we’ve done this for 20 years that we can try and help our clients play this iconic track. Yeah. I mean, it really hits home like it was almost an emotional experience to me, you know, getting to have this this morning and I’m sure it means a lot to you and to you guys at Hidden Links to be able to deliver that to your customers. I’m Scottish, so this this means everything to me personally. I can see it. I can tell. Yeah. So to have our clients, if I can give them the chance or the ability to play here, the memory that that has, the experience that they’ve had with their friends and family personally means everything. But so yeah, for like you, the experience you had, um, if I can give that back, that just that’s what we’re all about. And that’s what it’s all about. And I think that’s that’s what it’s all about for you guys. And I think people will find that there’s just no one better than you guys at delivering that those moments. Like I’m a testament to it. I’m blown away. Like, how does it make you feel? It’s emotional. Like, I mean, it truly is. Like, I don’t want to get cheesy here, so I’m not going to say I’m like I was balling my eyes out, but like you feel something. You really feel something walking. I mean, we’re doing it right now. We’re walking up the most historic site in golf. This is ground zero for golf pilgrimage. And, you know, to be able to be with people that have the ability to make these memories and these dreams reality, like, it’s a special thing. And you know, I’m super thankful to you guys for helping make this happen. And I can’t wait to hear all the stories from, you know, future people you work with who you make this same dream come true for them. I think it’s just an amazing thing. We got to bring you back. Yes, absolutely. Appreciate it so much. Thank you. Anytime. Well, guys, we played really good. That was a lot of fun. I really hope you guys enjoyed watching that. Once again, shout out to my friends at Hidlink Tours for putting this together. This was just I I’m I’m honestly speechless. Like, you know, like it’s This was like a a dream mine come true. I’ve played this game since I was three and I got to have seven holes for an hour and a half in the morning at the old course. Basically, just you and me. And uh it was pretty incredible. So, I hope you guys enjoyed that. I’m so happy that I played solid. I really don’t have words. All I can really say is like the video, subscribe if you want more like this. And that was just incredible. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed, you know, filming it and shooting it. So, I’ll see you guys later.

  1. For those wondering, my caddies name is Aimee… as you guys have noticed, she was an incredible caddy! She saved me at least 2 shots in these 7 holes. Thanks for watching 💪🏻

  2. Kyle, PLEASE!! try and link up with Dan Grieve honestly 1 2 hour lesson with him be amazing content and also i think would lower your scores by at good few shots again 😂 PGA tour will be calling

  3. So proud of how far Kyle’s come! Crazy to see how much more natural and confident he’s gotten on camera over the last few videos. You can tell he’s way less awkward and just more himself now. Love seeing the growth and confidence shine through every new upload

  4. What a rarity in a world of “long drive brashness”. Someone good enough to actually be humble. I’m a new fan Kyle. Stay grounded while being that good.

  5. 15:25 Kyle just soared this ball over this poor lady's head lmao she was so confused. Someday I'll get to enjoy this beautiful relic. Hopefully with Aimee, she's on the money!!

  6. The thing I like most about this video is how polite, humble and well spoken Kyle is. That's really cool. Great job my man.

  7. Hey Aimee, you did an incredible job caddying 👏 i own birdies, the new kebab shop in town. You’re welcome for food whenever you want.

  8. I made 400 pounds by betting on John Daly when he won at St. Andrews. I figured his length off the tee would probably help him avoid so many of the bunkers that aren't visible from the tee. With Daly's long game and terrific short game, he proved himself a worthy champion.

  9. somewhat of a snooze fest…You should have gone for driving every green out there to see what happens. Also, why are you wearing white after Labor Day?🙂

  10. Im genuinely surprised how low Kyle crouches down over his irons. You’d think that would lessen his power and increase back strain. But clearly he can absolutely belt the ball miles and retain accuracy!

  11. Can't wait to see you on tour. Game has improved so much dude. Class act the whole video as well. Talented Caddie!

  12. That was an excellent watch, best YouTube video I've seen in a long time. Kyle seems like a really genuine and humble person and was very respectful and kind to the crew and in particular the caddie. Haste Ye Back Kyle.

  13. That old lady walking across 18th fairway was looking like "what the hell was that" when the ball swooshed over her head 😂

  14. Just curious, would those slightly offline drives into the rough be in the deep-stuff during Open week? Or is the deep stuff farther offline?

  15. Hey kyle… great video. super fun, enjoyed the whole thing. Feedback: a number of your group weren't mic'ed up properly and was hard to hear them. But, man, your channel is going to go viral after this.

  16. He's played the game since he was THREE . The way he plays , it looks like he was BORN with a Club In his hands . A complete GENIUS .

  17. I'd be arguing about the "oldest" course being St Andrews……. golf was NOT played there first, have a look for Leith Links (Edinburgh), it was played there before this place……… and then there's the origins of the game,,,,,,,,,, invented here in Scotland??? NOPE……… China
Anyway, I've played this course, not as good as you think, better off playing somewhere like Crail (few miles from st andrews)………….. incidentally, st andrews is where the rules were created, not the game

  18. Even though you hit 7 iron further than my driver, I have to say; What is the point of the content if your not trying to drive every green?

otherwise I love your traditional respect for golf. Im just in a complaining mood today.

  19. Wonderful video and props to hiddenlinks for sorting this for you. I'm fortunate enough to have been to St Andrews, I'm only in London a long train ride away but it's still so special to have played. There's no where else like it, the whole town if full of golfers from all over the world. Makes me want to go back, I'll have to contact hiddenlinks to sort my next trip for me – and great caddy btw, she could be your new tour caddy lol
