  1. LXXII Golf doesn’t have the same ring to it

I’ll be honest, **LXXII Golf** doesn’t have the same ring to it. How does one even pronounce that?

REALLY! WOW! Oh, forgot. Don’t give a fuck, LIV is still irrelevant and rightly so.

All the fanboys in shambles after arguing about how 8/10/14 tournaments at 54 holes is way less work than playing on the pga tour.

Plus, all the players talking about how this is way less effort. The time/travel commitment plus needing to play asian tour events. I’m guessing their schedule is just as full as before with way worse travel and no ability to avoid tournaments.

Never had any interest in LIV but I truly don’t even know where to watch it, let alone any of my golf friends that do watch that tour. Is it even successful or is it just a money drain for Saudi investors with too much time and money on their hands?

What if they played Monday-Thursday too.

Interesting. The 2 hold ups for world ranking points were 72 holes and auto qualify for all events. It’ll be interesting to see if they make further changes.

FWIW it feels like the whole civil war thing is deal and the PGA is just gonna do what they wanna do and let liv do whatever they’re gonna do

It is kind of like the Big 12 and Big 10. They can’t count.

  9. peedeehex

Can’t work from home on Thursdays anymore

God damn I never realized LIV was 54 in Roman numeral… I just thought it was a cool name.

“The next phase of growth” you mean behaving like every other standard tour in the world? I don’t think yo get to count that as “growth”

  15. PissTroughAficionado

Sure, but LXXII Golf doesn’t have the same ring to it.

I’m sure this will have an impact on their dozens of viewers.

Next they’ll really shake the game up and announce individual stroke play events

I can proudly say I’ve still never watched one shot of this junk

  21. Sufficient_Swing_406

Anyone else never connect the dots till this very post

  22. pfistacuffs

I mean shouldn’t they been using Arabic numerals anyway?

  23. socalasn

Didnt all the LIV guys say that 54 holes is one of the main reasons they went there? Haha.

  24. Infinite_Respect_

Just give up already fucks sake

At the end of the day, this won’t make anyone care about LIV. Nobody who isn’t watching LIV already is going to say, “Oh, well now that it’s 72 holes, I’ll tune in.”

I think what is most likely is that this is part of handshake agreement with OWGR to get approval. It doesn’t address the primary issue — closed shop — but, LIV might be trying to satisfy enough other requirements (spoken or unspoken) to pave the way.

“Look how fast we’re growing–we’re already moving away from the core concept of our league! This proves we’re comparable to the PGA Tour!”

What exactly is their market position/proposition now?

  27. SeatBroad573

LIV had exactly one shot at making themselves legitimate. It didn’t happen: it’s over
