The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale – long recognized as one of the “Best Golf Resorts in the Southwest” and among the top 36-hole golf destinations in the world – has officially reopened its North Course following a comprehensive five-month renovation project.

The renovation focused on restoring and refining the North Course to enhance playability and aesthetics. Crews reshaped and expanded the greens to their original design and resurfaced them with TifEagle turf, an ultra-dwarf hybrid grass known for its consistency, speed, and year-round playability. The use of TifEagle also eliminates the need for traditional overseeding, aligning with Arizona’s ongoing water conservation efforts.
The project included improvements to all tee boxes on the North Course, including laser leveling and resurfacing. Tee boxes on the par-four and par-five holes of the South Course also received upgrades.
“This further illustrates our commitment to offering the very best golf course experience for our guests and members,” Boulders General Manager John Maskovich said. “With the completion of this project and our team of golf course professionals, we hope to continue to earn high marks in the golf industry.”
Originally designed by renowned architect Jay Morrish and opened in 1985, the North Course is celebrated for its rugged desert beauty and panoramic views. The recent enhancements were led by golf course architect and ASGCA member Arthur Schaupeter, who brings more than three decades of experience in course design and renovation nationwide.
The North Course improvements follow a series of upgrades at Boulders in recent years, including bunker renovations on both courses, installation of new pump stations, resurfacing of the practice putting green, and the South Course greens renovation in 2022. Beyond that, the resort has continued to invest in guest amenities, including fall programming at the Boulders Golf Academy, 12 new pickleball courts, and seasonal clinics at the Tennis & Pickleball Garden.
