No matter where I put my projector from above it doesn’t seem to fit the screen right, bought it cuz it said it was meant for the screen dimensions. I don’t get it. Excuse the mess, this a DIY sim a group of us are making

    It’s a bit of a trial-and-error process

It depends on your projector really.

Some things. In the second picture you can see the projector is off at an angle. So either your projector is not level or your screen is at an angle, so while it might fit on the top or bottom it will be too large or small on the other side.

Some of the better projectors allow you in the software or settings to adjust the edges and manage the projection points. Quick via corner or more accurately in a grid.

The other issue might be that your projector is not centered to the screen and as a result projects smaller on the close side then the far. Again you can adjust in the software of some but not all projectors.

I’m assuming this is the problem because you probably played with the lens focal point and the optical zoom. So it’s likely going to come down to projector angle and alignment.

    Step 1
Mount your projector until it fits the entire screen top to bottom. Don’t worry about the image extending past the sides, you’ll take care of that in a minute.

    Step2
Make sure to focus and level your image.

Step3 (This assumes you have a decent GPU and projector.)
Go to your PC’s settings screen, System>Display>Advanced display, you’ll see a bunch of different resolutions, select Custom Resolution.

It will probably be 1920×1080, you’ll keep the second value and you’ll change the first.

It will be trial and error, enter a number lower and the image will get narrower, width-wise. The new resolution will take a few seconds to show and it will ask if you want to keep it or revert to the original resolution, it will automatically revert in 15 seconds or something like that.

Keep on adjusting until it fits perfectly, and save. You will then have to select your new custom resolution in the advanced display screen, and then enjoy.
