Danica Patrick has been getting more and more into golf.
The former NASCAR and IndyCar star, who retired from professional racing in 2018, has been taking up new sports in retirement. Patrick has been getting into golf, tennis, skiing and more. The former professional racing star, who still covers the sport as an analyst for TV, has been getting pretty good, too. Patrick has been hitting some 250-plus yard drives and making some nice putts.

“I decided to actually learn how to play golf about 2 years ago. Of course it’s a little seasonal, mostly for heat in AZ but also work and skiing! I thought I finally had it figured out last fall. Then I forgot how to hit my driver to start the year off…. Until about 10 days ago. I remembered just as mysteriously as I forgot,” she wrote earlier this year.
“Golf is a funny game…. And mostly played by those who just love to be hard on themselves. A game you will never master and repeatedly wonder – why am I doing this to myself?!” she added.

Golf course etiquette
While Patrick and her crew were clearly having fun on the golf course, the following rules are meant to be followed, according to proper golf course etiquette:
Wear the appropriate attire. Club rules may vary, but in general, wear a collared shirt, khaki shorts/skorts or pants/skirts, and golf shoes. Tank tops, jeans, cargo shorts, and open–toed shoes are inappropriate.
Once a player is addressing the ball, remain silent.
Never hit up on the group in front of you. If it’s possible to reach them with your shot, wait until they all hit their next shots or putt out.
When searching for your ball or traveling to the next hole, never drive in front of tee boxes.
If you hit onto another fairway, allow the group playing that hole to hit their shots before playing your shot.
If you hit a ball that could hit another player on the course, yell “Fore!”
Never drive the golf cart or place your golf bag/hand cart on the tee boxes or greens.
When the course states “Car Path Only”, golf carts must always remain on the cart path.
When the course states “90 Degrees”, golf carts can drive anywhere in the rough but must traverse the fairway at 90 degrees only. You cannot drive on the fairway diagonally or parallel to the cart path.
When encountering “Carts” arrow signs, golf carts may not pass them and must exit the fairway to the cart path.
When the siren sounds during inclement weather (i.e., thunderstorms, lightning) proceed immediately to the clubhouse for safety.
