A cool one here from Titleist. In honor of the longtime wedge maestro Bob Vokey, the company that bears his name announced today a limited-edition Vokey Signature 56 M wedge.
The limited, collectable wedge was designed by Vokey and inspired by his beloved 1962 Corvette. According to the company, the “56°” toe stamp is a nod to the original 200 Series wedges. Also per Titleist, “The M Grind features a unique modification with a “Pro Groove,” or a concave dip in the middle of the sole. This offers a slightly different feel through the turf and helps get the wedge out of the ground faster.”

Limited to 500, the design features an M grind and a Polished Nickel finish, retailing for $399. A Golf Price BCT Cord grip and BV Signature Series shaft band are also featured.
Vokey’s career began in 1976 with his own shop (Bob’s Custom Golf Shop). After making clubs for some of the best pros in the game, Vokey joined TaylorMade in 1986, leaving the company in 1991 to start Founders Club. He joined Titleist in 1996, where his focus turned to high-performance wedge design for tour professionals. The rest, as they say, is history, with nearly half of all tour pros playing Vokey wedges today.

The current Vokey wedge generation is SM10. Read more about the design in our launch piece.
