Kai Trump , if she weren’t the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, would be just another 18-year-old golfer who will be playing for the University of Miami in the fall. Luckily for her, she hit the birth lottery and is Donald Trump’s granddaughter, so now she will get to compete in a LPGA Tour event next month, making her “dream” come true.

“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour, and I am thrilled to be able to compete at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in November,” the high school senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach said in a press release put out by the LPGA on Tuesday. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”

Kai Trump will be competing in the event on a sponsor invitation. Ricki Lasky, LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer, speaking about the invite, said, “Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA. Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans. We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey, and we’re proud to work closely with our partners in Tampa Bay whose continued commitment to advancing the women’s game helps elevate the LPGA and expand its visibility.”

The LPGA is surely looking forward to benefiting from the more than 6 million followers Kai Trump has amassed on social media, thanks to her famous grandfather. On the pro-am side of the tournament, WNBA star Caitlin Clark will return to play for the second straight year, lending even more gravitas to the event.

In her three AJGA events this year, Trump broke 80 in two of the nine rounds she played, shooting 89-79-83-89 at the 2025 Junior Invitational at Sage Valley and 84-77 at the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship.

“Kai Trump has a tremendous passion for the game and is expanding the sport to broader audiences,” said Justin Sheehan, Director of Golf and COO, Pelican Golf Club. “She has a bright future at Miami, and we look forward to welcoming her and our entire tournament field to Pelican Golf Club in November.”
