In an unexpected pairing, Caitlin Clark and Kai Trump will take part in the same tournament at the LPGA Tour event at Pelican Golf Club this November.
The Indiana Fever sensation Clark, whose wealth is skyrocketing following a recent $28 million agreement, will make her second straight appearance at the competition in the Pro-Am division. The 23-year-old Clark, a two-time WNBA All-Star who sat out significant portions of the 2025 campaign due to injury while the Fever advanced to the playoff semifinals, will take the course on Wednesday, November 12, at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican.
Clark has expressed her enthusiasm about returning to compete on such a prominent platform. Meanwhile, Trump will make her LPGA Tour debut in the main competition, following speculation she may have accidentally revealed grandfather Donald’s confidential information amid worries about the President’s assistance.
“I had an amazing time at The ANNIKA last November and participating in the Pro-Am alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam, two of the best in the game,” said Clark. “I’m honored to be an ambassador for a company in Gainbridge that is so committed to elevating women’s sports. I can’t wait to return to Tampa Bay in November to play in the Pro-Am with the best women golfers in the world.
“Bringing Caitlin, Nelly and Annika together last year was a great day for women’s sports,” said Mike Nichols, Group 1001 Chief of Sponsorship Strategy and Activation. “We look forward to her return this year and continuing our work with our brand ambassadors and partners to elevate women’s sports.”
Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, will face off against the world’s elite professional golfers on the LPGA Tour as a sponsor invitation, creating an unexpected potential crossover with WNBA sensation Clark.
Currently a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump has pledged to join the University of Miami’s NCAA Division I women’s golf program in the fall of 2026. Meanwhile, she continues to hone her skills on the junior and amateur circuits, participating in tournaments through the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the South Florida PGA’s Srixon Medalist Tour.
“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour, and I am thrilled to be able to compete at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in November,” said Trump.
“This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.
“Kai Trump has a tremendous passion for the game and is expanding the sport to broader audiences,” added Justin Sheehan, Director of Golf and COO, Pelican Golf Club.
“She has a bright future at Miami, and we look forward to welcoming her and our entire tournament field to Pelican Golf Club in November.
“Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA,” said Ricki Lasky, LPGA Chief Tour Business and Operations Officer. “Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans.
“We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey, and we’re proud to work closely with our partners in Tampa Bay whose continued commitment to advancing the women’s game helps elevate the LPGA and expand its visibility.”
