Two new indoor golf locations will open in the next 12 months thanks to the continued success of Bunker Indoor Golf, which opened in Sneinton in April – just a year and a half after the company’s launch at its first site in Heanor.
Co-founder Adam Grace worked previously in composites for the Mercedes-Petronas AMG F1 team but took a chance on the indoor golf market when he saw how popular his own golf simulator was with friends.
The 36-year-old said: “We are looking to expand across the UK and Europe. We have two more facilities lined up to open in 2026 but we cannot reveal where they will be just yet.
“We are focused on delivering the best experience for our customers and to grow our offering to be at the forefront of indoor golf and competitive entertainment.”
Adam believes that the key to Bunker’s success has been providing an inclusive environment that welcomes everyone no matter their level. It also offers social spaces, corporate event packages, interactive darts and pool tables.
He added: “We’ve tried to break down the barrier that golf is an elitist sport. Whether it’s their first time picking up a club or not, they can participate and learn how to play golf or just come in and have a good time.
“We partner with our local businesses to hold events and provide food and bespoke experiences. And we work with companies like Motorpoint Arena and Bustlers to create exciting events and grow the local community.”
Coaching at both venues helps players sharpen their skills by using bespoke technology that tracks every movement. The coaching within their junior golf programme has introduced the sport to more than 50 young players, equipping them with the skills and confidence to compete in tournaments.
Bunker also pioneered the first indoor GolfSixes league in partnership with the Golf Foundation and England Golf. GolfSixes is a team-based format of the game suitable for youngsters who are new to golf. Created in 2017 to give young golfers the opportunity to play on the golf course in a format that is fun, team based and suitable for beginners.
