As part of the valedictory event of Rashtriya Military School (RMS), Chail’s centenary celebrations, a Georgians’ Golf Tournament was held at the Chandigarh Golf Club, drawing alumni from across the country.
In the Longest Drive category, Master Shahamir Brar emerged winner with a 330-yard shot, followed by Col R.P.S. Mankotia (310 yards) and Lt Col Pankaj Mondgil (298 yards). The Closest to Pin title went to Col Pushpinder Mankotia, whose ball landed just 3 feet 6 inches from the hole.
The Best Gross Team included Col Premvir Sangwan, Brig Azizur Rehman, Col S.P.S. Malhotra and Col Madan Gurung, while the Second-Best Score went to Col B.S. Sahni, Col Paramjit, Brig S.J.S. Sandhu and Col Narinder Singh.
Lt Gen I.S. Singha, convenor of the event, recalled the school’s motto “Play the Game” — symbolising integrity, fairness, and dedication — and said the spirit was reflected on the golf course.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from alumni travelling from Kochi, Pune, Jammu, Delhi, and other cities. Organisers announced that the Georgians’ Golf Tournament will now be held annually in November to continue fostering camaraderie among the five RMS institutions — Chail, Bangalore, Belgaum, Ajmer, and Dholpur.
