It was great to see the leaderboard with a new name in lights at Sudbrook Moor.
Phil Marvin entered the end of season fun competition of a three-club challenge and made the selection of his seven wood and pitching wedge along with the obligatory putter.
It was a dream round from the off, with a birdie three on the first and Phil was on his way to creating a golden masterpiece.
Phil Marvin.
This birdie was to set the flavour for his front nine that kept getting better.
Off an index of 20, Phil dropped only four shots going out and a few more on the back nine, to card 41 stableford points, for this his first club competition win.
Following this result, for the first time, Phil moved his handicap index to just under the 20 mark, so another notable achievement.
The nearest contender and runner-up was five points behind, returned in Division Two, by Ted Spratley.
Third best score was returned by Chris Duggan on 34 points in Division One.
Other leading scores, with their specialised three club selection, came from: Dean Marsden and Kev Waddingham 33; Sean Baumber and Gary Wilson 32; Steve Blythe and Stanley Berry 31 and Roger Rhodes 29.
There were a number of two’s recorded and the prize pot was shared by Dan Marsden, Jason Barnes and Peter Stoneman.
