Rasmus Hojgaard is just the third player in the modern history of the Amgen Irish Open not to defend his title after he opted to skip this week’s 70th edition at The K Club.

Scheduling has put paid to the title defence by the Dane, who will play the BMW PGA the week after the Irish Open but skip the visit to Co Kildare to avoid playing five events in a row.
