OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Belmont women’s golf team is tied for fifth place after the first round of The Robbie held Friday at RTJ Trail at Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.

Belmont carded a first round 300 to finish the day tied with Lipscomb at 300.  Georgia has the team lead at 283, with Tennessee Tech in second at 293 and Morehead State in third at 296.

Two Bruins are among the top-15 after 18 holes.  Graduate student Chloe Tarkany shot a even par 72 on Friday to finish the day tied for fifth place.  She is three back of the individual leaders: Georgia’s Maria Garcia and Morehead State’s Amelia Greenlee (69).

Junior Paige Hammarstrom is tied for 11th place after posting a 74 in the first round.

Other Belmont scores from day one included: sophomore Sloane Biddle (T-27, 76), sophomore Sophie Skoog (T-34, 78), and freshman Lauren Davis (T-40, 80).

Sophomore Emilee Swagger, competing as an individual, is tied for 60th place at 90.
