It is either Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 or Thursday, October 30th. Either way, it is the postgame show for game five of the 2025 World Series. This is baseball today. It is presented to you by Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Looking for a refreshing citrusy kick? Go grab yourself a Mountain Dew. That is my man Trevor Bloop. I am Chris Rose, producer Dan and intern Sawyer along for the ride as well as I am feeling very yellow. You’re colorful with your blue. We are getting it going because one team is one win away, Plof, from finishing the 2025 season. Can you believe? I can believe, man. The Blue Jays have put on an absolute clinic. And we talked about before the show all the smack talk the Dodgers did to the Yankees after last year. It’s kind of coming back to bite them because they look like that team that can’t play fundamental baseball right now. And the Blue Jays are they’re lapping them uh in that part of the game. So, here we go. They’re one victory away from their first World Series championship in 32 years. Thanks in part or mostly on Wednesday night to a 22year-old. On the rare occasion that the Dodgers actually did put the ball in play, this happened to third. First, double play. A World Series masterpiece. It was a lot of fun. Um, I mean, first time on the road in the playoffs, hearing a lot of crap talk in the bullpen and I think it’s funny. I think it’s funny. So, it fuels me and uh I told Pete and when I was warming up, this is this is this is a lot of fun. It’s special to watch. Um, obviously the stuff is incredible, but the maturity to be able to handle these moments is um is unbelievable. We’re talking about Trey Yavich who gave one of the classic performances in World Series history. Set a rookie record with a dozen strikeouts. That was a record that was set by Don Nukem in 1949 when he was just a kiddo playing the major leagues with the Dodgers back then. And now Yusavich does it against the Dodgers. He w I don’t even know how to describe what we saw out of him. You give it a shot. control of three pitches and two of them like excellent. He um sequencing was great. Um north to south a ton. Uh spotted up when he needed to do it. He threw a bunch of sliders today and almost doubled what he percentage-wise of what he typically threw during the year. Uh so he kept a lot of guys off balance. Whether that was his game plan or that’s just what he felt uh good with tonight. Uh it was it was it was awesome. He never he never gave the Dodgers hope. Like they never had true hope. Like Kik with the solo shot. Great. That was like his one mistake with the fast ball. It was um and we seen him do this and then when we’ve seen him struggle with his command, you know, it’s it hasn’t looked as great. But when he has control of his pitches with the arm slot and just the overall effectiveness of those pitches, I mean, this is this is what we’ve seen. When he has control, this is what we’ve seen. But when you’re talking about a guy who has at least 11 strikeouts now in multiple postseason appearances, I mean, some of the names that are on that list are we’re talking about baseball royalty out there that have been doing it. Uh, including the likes of Randy Johnson, just to name one out there. It’s um and as far as a young guy, because he’s actually got more strikeouts in the World Series now than he has in his regular season career at the major league level. He’s only made two World Series starts, just to let you know. But for me, you go back and you think about the performance that Jarrett Wright had in game seven with the Cleveland Indians in 1997. I remember it was it was a game where he ended up getting a no decision, but still that’s an amazing performance. Brett Saberhagen, 21 years old in 1985, pitching a complete game shutout to win the Royals first ever World Series. The difference is, you know, how many guys Sabrehagen struck out that night? I know, two. He struck out two guys. Treya Savage came out and struck out a lineup that has got at least three future Hall of Famers in it a dozen times. the top four of the Dodgers lineup, one for 15, eight strikeouts against the Blue Jays pitchers. It is just something. I mean, I’m shocked. I told you I thought he was going to work into the fifth and get one out in the fifth and they they would be thrilled with that. Well, you didn’t know he was going to have this type of stuff. And I think what Bo said is is really true. Like the stuff plays. There’s a lot of young guys that come up, especially now, like the way the game is played and scouted and and the way these pitchers can work. There’s a lot of guys that come up with really plus stuff. That’s why teams aren’t afraid to bring these guys up and just throw them right into the mix because they have the data that the stuff plays. Like, you know, they know about uh, you know, induced vertical break. They understand about the arm slots and the arm angles and planes and all that. So, they know the stuff will work. But how are you going to be mentally in the big leagues? because it is still it’s a massive change to your life and the you know pressure that you feel from being in the big leagues is immense. So you could have all the stuff you want in the world but once you get to the big leagues it’s just completely different. Can you still perform? Does your stuff still play? Can you still execute the way you did in the minor leagues? He’s shown the ability to do that and I think that is special uh and not something that we should just kind of gloss over like the mental ability to come work and do what he’s done this postseason uh against a team like yeah I know they haven’t hit. I get that. Uh but you go up and you see those guys leading off the game and you’re making show you know get on a knee with his helmet falling off because your stuff is so damn good. You’re able to stay cool, calm and collected. get a double play when you need like it’s it’s special. It’s special special Chris. Well, it’s more than that. I think this was his first playoff road start and you heard him tell Hazel May uh part of the sports net sports net broadcast team up there in Toronto that hey they were talking a lot of trash and it fired me up man. But it can go the other way for a lot of young people. He’s 22 years old. Well, he doesn’t look it. He looks like he’s 28 or 29 and look like a seasoned vet and the way he carries himself and all that. You can see it in his eyes. There’s no there’s zero fear when Fox takes a tight shot of that guy. It’s not like it’s like this is where I’m supposed to be. It’s damn impressive, man. And I don’t think we should just kind of be like, oh yeah, that was really cool. You should be like this is one of the great performances in World Series history when you factor in everything. age, lack of experience doing it on the road for the first time and against a defending World Series champion in the Dodgers. You put all of that together, I don’t think it’s too much of a statement to say this was one of the greatest performances in World Series history. You know, I don’t like lists like that because I don’t know all the performances, but yes, I agree. Good. Good. We agree. I do. And people can let us know their favorite, you know, World Series pitching performance. Jack Morris, that’s like the one I go. Absolutely. Right. You go 10 shut out innings. I didn’t say it was the best ever, but I would certainly put it up there when you factor everything that comes along with it. What’s your best pitching performance ever, Chris Rose? I would playoff wise or World Series wise. I would say it was Jack Morris. the one that the one that I have seen it was Jack Morris. I it’s hard for me to get off of that one. I I just I can’t I wasn’t there for Don Larson. Go ahead. You can joke probably and think that I was I don’t even know what year that was. So I 1956, but that’s fine. What year? 1956. Okay. Yeah. So I was My dad was born in 57. Really? I was 15. Negative5. Okay. Everybody’s doing the math right now. Part of this whole narrative is the fact that the rookie never took the mound without a lead. And that’s a big deal. And David Schneider is in there. He’s filling in for an injured George Springer. And what happens when he steps into the batters box? Here he comes. Game five with a fast hit in the air to deep left field to the track. on the first pitch of game five. Davis Schneider into George Springer shoes and doing a great impression. That’s a good call. Yeah, a good call by Davis right there. Really, really, really good. I mean, and then two pitches later, Vlad does what Vlad has been doing the entire postseason. And just like that, it’s two nothing. And that place is stunned. I mean, I I don’t think you can underestimate what that may have done for you Savage as well. Agreed. I mean, to go out there and understand, okay, I got a little leeway now. That’s really nice for him. I I think David Schneider went up there. That was a that was a premeditated swing. That was an ambush. He’s saying, I’m I’m David Schneider. That guy on the hill has two Sai Youngs, one in each league. He’s throwing me a first pitch fast. He’s trying to get ahead here. He doesn’t think I have the coahones to do it. and he took a hack and got the pitch he was looking for. That was awesome, man. Um, so, you know, a lot of people are saying, “Did they have something on Blake Stone’s fast ball?” Because he he went away from it. He didn’t throw another one till he struck out Jimenez in the bottom of the top of the second, excuse me. Uh, went away from the heater. I I I think it was more one, ambush, and then two, Vlad just got that pitch in and turned on it. So, um, I don’t know, man. You’re you’re totally right about momentum and calming down your young starting pitcher and taking the crowd out of it. It all happened with those two swings. Yeah, the numbers for Snell, they end up uh five earned for the second straight start against the Blue Jays. So, I’m going to guess he will not be the MVP as somebody might have predicted on this show. Ended up working into the seventh. Um he only gave up two runs but a bunch of inherited runs ended up scoring or three runs I should say and then a couple of inherited runs ended up scoring. Um they talked to him postgame and he spoke glowingly about Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He said listen he is one of the best hitters in baseball. Like I get it. I kind of missed my spot on that and that’s exactly what a great hitter like that is going to do. But I want you to listen to what he said about the rest of the lineup. Okay, here we go. rest of the lineup. Yeah, they’re like ambushing. I mean, I’ll probably if we get to game seven, then I’ll see him again. So, I can’t I can’t say much, but um No, I mean, yeah, just I mean, I said, yeah, Vlad, good hitter. Schneider, I mean, he hit it one man harder than I threw it. Good location. The Baro triple, curveball, capped. Like, luck plays in baseball, too. Yeah. So, um, yeah. Don’t love it. Love Snell. Love him. Don’t love that comment right there. What don’t you love? Well, I hate I hate like the term ambush like it’s a bad thing. What? We’re supposed to just take the first pitch against you as a What is that? Like, yeah, every once in a while I’m going to go up there and I’m going to hit your first pitch. That’s all it is. We call it an ambush and it has like this negative connotation to it. It’s swinging at the first pitch. It’s all it is. So, I don’t love that. And he kind of, you know, didn’t but just give credit. I don’t think he’s going to pitch game seven. This is my thought process on game seven for being honest. If Yamamoto can somehow throw a complete game and get him to game seven, uh, I think it goes glass now. Show Roki. That’s it. I told Jake that. I said, “Nobody else even puts your freaking spikes on. Those are the only three guys I pitch.” Well, we’ll have uh Friday morning’s show to go over what might happen in game six. Yeah, I don’t I’ve never loved it either. Uh for some reason, and and we have this problem as fans. It’s not just athletes that have the issue. Fans have troubles a lot of the time giving credit. How often do you hear I’m sure Dodger fans are saying tonight, you know, we’re just we can’t hit. We continue to make defensive miscues. Our bullpen sucks. And while that might all be right, the number one reason the Blue Jays are up 3-2 is because the 22-year-old shoved. And that should be the number one thing that everybody says and that is it. And the Blue Jays fine. You know what? They should sit there and they’d be like, “You know what, Blake? You’re right. We’re just lucky. We’re lucky and we’re somehow lucky enough to be up 3-2 and hopefully we’re going to be lucky enough to win the series 4-2. And if not, we’ll be lucky enough to win it 4-3.” It just makes you sound a little amateur-ish. Blake sounded like me and Blitz Ball lately after the games. Yeah, that’s a good one. Yeah, that’s a good one. Good luck, by the way, in Blitz Wall Battle 7. I wish you luck. Thank you very much, Chris. Okay, I’m sure I still love Blake Snow. Okay, clipping that and making it seem like I don’t love Blake Snow. No, nobody’s going to say that you don’t love We’ve all We all make mistakes. We all say stuff that we regret. I don’t know if he does because he’s usually pretty open and honest guy. He’s frustrated as I guarantee you that. He was cruising through his first three starts. He looked great, but the Blue Jays, whether it’s luck or not, they took it to him. That’s pretty good. Uh, there’s one other piece of tape I want to show you from going back on the Davis Schneider home run. This is my favorite stuff. This is his family’s reaction to it. Oh. Oh, no. No way. No way. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. You got to be kidding me. You got to be kidding me. How great is this? That’s amazing. Blue Jay’s family section getting wild. Everybody else in the stadium just quiet. H. Yeah, that’s his dad recording that. That’s awesome. Does his dad have a mustache, too? I don’t know. But does he look like Does he have 18 sets of traps? I’m curious about that. Is he like That was That’s awesome, man. I I love seeing the family moments as well. Is he built like Marcus Strowman’s dad? You ever see Strow’s dad? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was neat. Blue Jay fans, what was your favorite part of the night? Love to know. By the way, only one Jay starter didn’t get a hit and that was Andre Jimenez. And I think only one Addison Barger had more than one hit. So you were talking about, you know, how the Dodgers are getting it from just like one or two guys. The Blue Jays, Vlatty is is the lead actor here, but there’s going to be plenty of people up for best supporting role. And that is that’s pretty awesome. Yeah, pretty awesome. Meanwhile, the Champs now are down 3-2 in the best of seven series. They got some issues. We’ll get to the bullpen in just a minute, but let’s start with the struggles at the dish. What is going on, boys? 180 on his command from the first game. Um he he had everything working tonight. Um but again, we still got to put some runs on the board and uh do a better job and we just haven’t done that for about two and a half games. Pretty bad performance by us. Um but at the same time pretty incredible performance by the kid on the mound on the other team. Um he didn’t really give us anything to hit. He located the spots very well and uh he just he just executed and uh we didn’t take advantage of anything. I don’t want to speak on anybody else but for me personally um I’ve just been terrible. I’ve been terrible and there’s no uh I wish it was from lack of effort. I really do but it’s not. So I don’t have any answers. In reverse order, that was uh Mookie, Muny, and Freeman. Let’s start with Mookie. What do you see when you when you look into his eyes there when he’s talking? Lack of confidence. Seen it for quite some time. I I I know the numbers weren’t there this year and then towards the end of the year when he quote unquote let it go and just played free. He kind of, you know, did better, got the numbers to a respectable level. But we we’ve seen it all year long and it started when he was sick at the beginning of the year and his body wasn’t there for him. Um but again I I I keep referencing like the fact that they intentionally walked to get to him four times basically five times. It does something to the psyche especially if you don’t come through and he got a base hit I believe one of the times uh in that 18 ining game. But I I think there’s been a lack of confidence. Uh which is crazy to say because we’re we’re talking about a future Hall of Famer, a guy that’s got MVPs in the bag like or an MVP in the bag. So he he should be confident, but that’s just the way the baseball is sometime, especially on the offensive side. You can go from top of the world to feeling like you’ve never swung a bat before, stepped in a box before, and it happens very, very quickly. Uh you know, because he said, you know, it’s not from lack of effort, like the mechanics look fine. And it’s just there’s just it’s something about timing. It’s it’s the hand eye whatever it is isn’t right right now. And uh when that happens and then the confidence leaves as well, you can get into a a dark dark place. Uh the Dodgers and Dave Roberts did move around their lineup, right? Mookie Betts got dropped. I like that move. You do down to three and put Will Smith behind because we talked about the lefty lane with Otani and Freeman. That’s gone now. Right. Well, don’t you think it’s just as much about making sure that show is going to hit get something to see maybe at some point if Will Smith’s back? Yeah, that that’s another part of it as well. Yes. Okay. Would you move I still think they’d walk him in a big situation even that doesn’t matter who’s behind. Would you move Muki even further down the lineup for game six? I think about it. I think about a lot of things if I was Dave Roberts. I mean, we need people on base when Shi comes up. Um, so like something at the bottom of the lineup as well. I’ve been asking for Kim to to be in the lineup. We have I don’t think he’s played since September 25th, I believe. Because he hasn’t gotten a bat this postseason, right? Wow. I think he’s and check fact check me, Dan. I don’t think he has. I I believe he’s came come in to pinch run one time. Wow. That’s startling if that’s Isn’t that right? Is there There’s got to be something going on. No at bats is what we’re hearing. Yeah. So I believe the last game on the game log was September 25th or 6th. Um so like can you just throw him in there game six of the World Series? I don’t know. I mean you’re kind of you’re kind of desperate right now. Kind of. He seems like a spark plug guy. Uh and and Pah and Call haven’t given you anything. So maybe you just put Edmond in center, put him at second base and and run with it. I I don’t know, man. They need to figure something I I don’t know if moving Muki down it. It’s on the table. I guarantee it. The um you know, you put out a tweet and a bunch of Dodger fans got on you saying, “Dude, why don’t you just watch him a little bit this year? You don’t know ball.” Well, hold on here a second everybody. Yes. Did the Dodgers slump at times? And was the biggest question about them going into the playoffs the bullpen? Absolutely. Were there times where the offense didn’t carry its weight? Absolutely. But then explain to me how they finished second in baseball in runs, in homers, in ops, in walks if they sucked all year. It’s you can’t talk like I can’t do it on the internet anymore. I I fall into the trap too often right now. I know, but you understand what I’m saying. Like Yeah. No, it’s it’s we’re not I don’t think anybody’s surprised that watches baseball as much as we do that the Blue Jays are winning the series. We knew they were a good team. I had the Dodgers winning in six. You had them winning in five, but nobody was like, “H, forget it. This series is going to stink.” And well, certainly nobody here. There were some people, oh, I think a lot of people felt that. And that’s fine. But don’t come out and say right now like this is the way the Dodgers played all year because it wasn’t all year that they couldn’t hit. They were tough times. They had a bad July. I think they had a 400 July. They dealt with injuries, but overall, you’re right, the offensive numbers have been there. Uh it’s it’s come at a really bad time that, you know, they’ve been boooied by somebody in the top part of their lineup throughout the year. If somebody was struggling, somebody else was picking them up. And that right now, I mean, outside of Otani a few games, you know, obviously nine getting on time nine on base nine times in a game really helps your stat line. Yeah. Uh, you know, they they really haven’t they have not been the behemoth uh that we thought they would be. And that’s why I said it feel it always felt like they were inevitable because even when things weren’t going right with them, they still won the division. They still won 93 games. They still went nine and one in their first 10 playoff games. That’s what I meant by inevitable. Like even when things aren’t going right, they’re still finding ways to win. They’re still getting the job done. And then it felt like, hey man, like last series like they got to go now. It seemed like a likely story and but it just hasn’t gone that way. Bullpen continued to struggle. Henriquez came in in the seventh to try and help out Blake Snell and keep the score at a manageable 3-1. What’s the one of the first things he does? He blows one past Will Smith while Vlatt’s up and all of a sudden you tack on another run and floodgates open. It just is uh Dave Roberts walks out to the mound sick to his stomach every time he has to go get somebody whose name is not Roki Suzaki at this point pretty much. I mean what Blake went six and two/3s. We said he needed to go seven. That’s what we said. Couldn’t make it through that inning. He was running out of gas. I I didn’t mind the uh Enriquez move like he’s got the stuff and he wanted the swing and miss and you had Vlatty up there. Um but yeah, he just he yanked that 3-2 fast ball and then Bette just kind of he couldn’t find the zone, laid one in there. Bette did a really nice job. I think he was he didn’t get anybody out. No, if my memory serves me correct. That is correct. They don’t have anyone to go to, Chris. They do not have not a single soul to go to. And a lot of people have been pointing to, you know, the talk about building a super team and and what we said about this roster, one of the best rosters ever constructed. I still believe that was true. At the time what we were talking about it and the people they brought in and all you can really go off of is past statistics before the season. They they assembled an excellent bullpen, but injuries underperformance have made it now into almost unwatchable. I mean, it it is fascinating that the Dodgers have got a $17 million outfielder who hasn’t made any of the postseason rosters in Michael Conforto, I believe. And Tanner Scott, who is an $18 million a year closer, is a cheerleader at this point. And at this, you know, they’re their lineup is struggling, right? What’s that? He’s hurt the back to back. There was something that happened to him, but the timing was also odd. Not saying, you know, he was hurt. He had something going on, but it certainly didn’t feel like he was going to help out this team in any sort of high lever situation if he was even going to make a roster. That’s all. That’s all I’m saying. Dodger fans, where are you mentally right now? Go ahead, let us be your therapy in the comments. Get anything off your chest you want. And Blue Jay fans, let I’m sure y’all aren’t even going to be sleeping. You want to play tomorrow. I get it. You really do. In the meantime, baseball postseason full swing. Uh, as I mentioned, we’re going to have plenty of time to break down game six and what should happen, what we expect to happen, what managers should do in case of this and that and the other thing, but there’s only one time you could ever see a future Hall of Famer say goodbye to his office for the final time. Clayton Kershaw with his family out there taking photos after the Dodgers 6-1 loss in game five of the World Series. His family having a great great time out there. The kids were running free. Kersh was out there hugging his wife. That’s all the grounds crew right there. That’s all the grounds crew getting a shot. Why not? Um, but his wife Ellen very emotional. You know, she’s about to deliver their fifth child, I believe. Uh, but it was good to see Clayton just out there being a human being, being a great dad, and enjoying it for just a second, even when his team is on the brink of it. Yeah. I mean, he’s played for a long time. He deserves this. Uh he is like you said a human being and with emotions and he deserves he deserves everything man. Do you think he’s do you think I mean there’s no way he pitches again right because every inning is a high leverage inning right now? Yeah it is absolutely and let him go out on that high like he got the out. He did get the out. You know he reminds me a lot and obviously this makes a lot of sense because they grew up together. He reminds me a lot of my guy Matthew. Like good head on his shoulders, like family man, obviously played for a long time, uh well respected, um but has his priorities in order. So I dig it. Yeah. I mean, it’s that’s a great moment. and the fact that he was able to enjoy this last five weeks as much as he has where there’s been a bit you know there has I have been around few guys that have grinded the way he has he is so every ball player has their routine this guy is just in it I don’t know if it’s cuz he feared failure or what it was man when he was at the ballpark in the office that is his place to work. And I was happy to see the last certainly the last year he’d bring his son around. He’d pitch to him out there. He’d kind of enjoy it even while still trying to focus on the main goal. Did you see the video of his wife during his last out? Oh yeah, that was pretty cool. It was great. Yeah, really was cool. It was good. And um this is that’s a cool moment. You know, I know that people say, “Well, hold on. Why are you talking?” But here it is. Here’s the last Yes. We’re talking about it because he’s a freaking legend. Yeah. Best pitcher we had in our entire generation. Yeah. And it’s the now the final time that he will ever set foot as an Dodgers player uh in Chavez Ravine. Pretty cool stuff. I’m in. Derek Shelton will be your Minnesota Twins new skipper. Of course, he was fired back in May after five and a half seasons leading the Buckos. He now returns to Minnesota where I believe he was the bench coach a couple of seasons there in right 2018 2019. Okay. Uh first of all, good for Shelty. Good dude. Nice guy. Um unfortunately, he knows a lot about losing, so maybe that’ll get him ready for this. What? Oh, Chris, I I don’t need a shot fired right now. You’re right. Maybe they’ve got a shot at 500. What in your opinion is Minnesota’s biggest chore of the off season? I kind of hate talking like this because I I sound like a typical talking head, but a team identity, like what what are they as a team? Are they rebuilding? Um are they going to emphasize pitching and defense? Are they going to be a slug team? I I are they going to try to be an all-around team? I I I guess that’s always the goal for for people, but it’s really hard to do. Um I think going into last year, they said, “Hey, we got a good starting pitching uh staff and our bullpen’s awesome.” And then they traded away their entire bullpen and a couple starters really regressed so and and got hurt. So like their whole identity is gone right now. I I don’t know what the team identity is. So, I think figuring that out and then yeah, you got to fill out some roster spots. He’s got to figure out his coaching staff. I mean, I talked to I have a group chat with Perkins and Moro and I just kind of, you know, what do you guys feel? And my put a put a good point because I I said and I’ll say it, I don’t care. I said it’s kind of a vanilla hire to me. um you know, nothing that’s going to really generate buzz amongst the fans, which I thought maybe they would try to do if they’re especially if they’re going to try to win back their fans without having an exceptional team on the field because I don’t know if they’re going to be able to do that next year. Uh but my said what they need is like stress stressing of the fundamentals of baseball and and a guy that’s really going to have the players backs and that’s what Shelton is kind of known for. So, you know, he’s he’s a good baseball guy. I I I again, I wasn’t like super overwhelmed with the hire, but it’s not it’s not a bad one by any means. No, here’s the deal. As an outsider, the number one thing they have to do is win back the fan base. It the attendance was way down. And then when they pulled the house off the market, meaning we’re not going to sell, I it to me it it was a feeling of like really? So now what are we going to do? We’re going to cut payroll even more. I mean, they just traded half their team at the deadline. And sure, hopefully for the Twins fans, some of those pieces will end up growing up and being the stars of tomorrow. You certainly hope that. But man, you they’ve got a they’ve got an image to repair, which is something you don’t hear out of Minnesota sports teams very often. Winning cures that right away. That’s just an immediate cure to anything like that is is winning. But I don’t know if that’s in the future next year. Well, so does honesty in a plan. Yeah, I think we’re past that, Chris. I think we’re past that. Minnesota right now. I don’t think anyone’s and look I don’t know I don’t want to, you know, be so negative all the time. It’s the freak. We’re still talking about World Series right now. We’re not in the offseason plans yet. You’re trying to give me hole. Wait, we we got to hop in there when there were managerial hives. She How close were you to taking the job? I You know what? It’s funny because Olivia’s like, “You should be a manager.” And I’m like, “Dude, I don’t want the job.” Oh my god. First of all, I mean, like, what what credentials do I have? None. Okay. Second of all, that is not true. For goodness sake, I have a few credentials. Uh, none that would put me at the top of anybody’s list. I will say I could handle um I could handle a clubhouse. I think I could do I could read people. I’m good with that. But I don’t want it because I don’t want to travel, man. So, talk to me in 10 years when my kids are out of school or out of my house and maybe we’ll do that. But I think in 10 years I’m going to be like, “No, I’m You’re going to be counting that dough, bro.” Yeah. Yeah. That’s what I’m hoping. Yeah. I like that. Yeah. Yeah. I’m not playoff season. Hold on. Stop. Yes. Go ahead. Because I don’t want this to come off like I I’m this like Dude, I’m not I don’t deserve a manager job. Okay. Just want everyone to know that. But don’t say that you don’t deserve a manager job. I if I wanted one, I’d have to go work for it, dude. I can’t just like throw my hat in the ring and say, “Yeah, here. Look at me.” I know. But you know what? Aaron Boon hopped from the booth with zero coaching experience straight to managing the Yankees. I don’t think so. He did. He had zero coaching experience. I’m almost positive. Dan Ror, look that up. Or Sawyer, look up. He’s already saying 99% positive. I’m almost Yeah, almost positive. I don’t think he’s the I am happy coaching my 10U SoCal Padres’s and we’re getting better and better and better and our fundamentals are our fundamentals are freaking lights out by the way. Yeah, some would say your lineup might be better than the one that Derek Shelton just took over. I would not once again I would not say that. I’d be a good manager of men. I could do that. Good. What’d you find out, Dan? Boone did not coach at all. He went right from the ESPN booth to Yankee Stadium. Times are different now. Times are different. That was what was that? 2019. 2018. Yeah. 2018 was his first year. Times are different. It’s been a big change in baseball since 2018. All right. Would you want Trevor Plof to manage your team? That’s what I want to hear right now. We can get you the This guy snuck the baseball never managed or never played the playoffs. I’m gonna get I’m gonna get on in the comments now. Thank you, boy. God, I would Jake and I would love the opportunity to second guessess you on week one. That’d be so much fun. Don’t Can’t you just do it for us? There there is there’s a path. There’s a world where that happens. There’s a path. Yeah, folks. There’s a path. Uh playoff season is here. All right, before we get out of here, a little fun for you. Maybe you saw this, maybe you didn’t. Went down to Dodger Stadium before game three of the World Series, the 18 in fair. And you know, I figured that um Alejandro Kirk is he’s a fantastic player, Poof. Fantastic. He’s not a speed demon out there. He’s not going to be confused with Ellie de la Cruz anytime soon. Right. So, what I did was I asked players how much of a head start I would need against Alejandro Kirk to beat him in a race around the bases. I think if you start it first, he can he can probably still catch you. We would need probably half way to first base. Let me let me put it this way. He’s going to have to catch seven innings before he race with you. So after seven innings, you’re going to have to race Alejandro K from the same spot. And I think you have a chance to win. If we could start you with a lead off, okay? And he hits a ball in the gap. I think you could get him if you had a good secondary lead. You’d have to start at first base and hope your hammy holds up. It’ll be a close race if he starts at first and you at home. I don’t think you’re beating him period. Doesn’t matter. I mean, you could start me at second. I don’t think you’re beating him. For me, I will put him probably at second base and I’m at home and I’ll beat him. Kenny Kenny is still the most confident guy in the world. So, oh, uh, okay. I mean, I know I’ve seen your gate and I’ve seen Alihon run. You’re I think they had it right. Like, I I don’t necessarily think it’s second base that he can still catch you. Like if you’re at second base and all you have to do is round third and and and go home, I think you’ll win that. I think if you started on first base with a lead, it’d be a very very close call. So I’m I’m going I’m going halfway to second. We’d have to start you and I think you barely win then. So it probably has to be a 32 pitch and I’m off when the pitch gets thrown. No, no, no, no. I’m talking not even a pitch. We’re talking like a stopwatch or someone saying go, whatever it is. You’re halfway to second base and you guys leave at the same time. I think, dude, you’re I watched you whatever clip you just put out. That was how many years ago? That was probably a dozen years ago. You haven’t got any faster. No, but that was slowed down. That wasn’t regular speed. I think I think I’m I’m like right on it right now. And and maybe what we’ll do is uh we’ll get you out there one day and just have you run do like we’ll have you around the bases a few times to get like an accurate assessment and then we can just time it up with some shots from Alejandro Kirk. But I I think I’m spot on. Halfway in between first and second. That was the thing a lot of guys are like, “Well, your hammies are going to tear.” And even uh even Dempster said you might hurt your PCL or your MCL. He’s like, “One of those CLs are going too.” And how hot is it? Because you’re a sweaty guy. I mean, I’ve had some like walks with you in New Jersey. Yeah. Where I didn’t I wasn’t sure you make it back home. So, big sweater. I’ve got a lot going against me, right? I’m a two-time back surgery participant. I was in a car accident several years ago. Got rear ended on the 134 freeway out here. Uh I have uh uh only partial feeling in my left foot because of it. So, I’ve got a lot going got a lot going against. Don’t feel bad for me. I’m Other than that, I’m doing okay. I get to see my cardiologist, Dr. Kim. Shout out uh in a little bit. Um yeah, I just the running is a is a real problem for me right now. So, I do I do my old man one. What’s your answer? Yeah, it would have to be somewhere between first and second. And I’m not I would like to start closer to first for pride’s sake, but I think he’s way faster than people give him credit for. Like the average like you think he like average human he’s where do you think he lands? Obviously slowest from a big leager, right? But an average human that’s not a professional athlete, he ranks in what percentile? top top 10 or 12%. No way. What? No. My gosh, you’re giving you’re giving them way too much credit. We’re talking about every person in the country, though. They can run still. Well, that’s ridicul. He’s faster than you. I think that’s all we need to take away from We That was not the Some people were like, “Why are you being such an asshole?” I was like, “We’re having fun here. Let’s laugh a little.” I was making fun of myself, not him. Yeah, he doesn’t. He’s a two-time all-star. He’s fun and and could very well be a champion within 48 hours. So, let’s just everybody just calm down. All right, we are back at it again early. We’re going to have a an another preview, game six preview edition that’ll be out well before the game on Friday. So, look for that. And then we’re going to have a postgame show on Friday. And if the Dodgers win that, we’re gonna have a postgame show on Saturday. There’s a lot of baseball still left, at least one game, and we can’t wait. So, there you go. I think that’s all we got for it. Yep, that’s it for our one-of-a-kind producer Dan Roor, our awesome intern Sawyer, that is the uber talented but not managerial Trevor Plof. I am Chris Rose. We will see you before Friday’s game six for another World Series edition of Baseball Today presented to you by Mountain Dew.

  1. Baseball is just a weird sport guys, the Dodgers last October were wrecking teams with their offense and riding the backs of their bullpen with few starters. This year, with basically the same roster is the complete opposite. No offense, no bullpen, but great starting pitching. Baseball is just weird that way.

  2. Even after we dismantled him TWICE in the world series, he still won't give credit to the Jays. That's his pitcher arrogance trying to cover up his insecurity. You got WRECKED Snell. Face it. Go listen to Mookie. He knows.
It aint luck pal. Thats not what got us to the world series.

  3. As a Rays fan, I'd be happy the Jays and cheering them on, but they have a cheating piece of sh*t on their roster, and nobody likes seeing cheaters prosper… so I'll be hoping Ohtani and the Dodgers pull it off on the road.

  4. Wow, that must be such a moment for Kershaw to be able to stand on the same mound as Yesavage right after he just cut up his team.

  5. This Dodgers team is one of the streakiest I have every watched. When they are on they dominate like we saw again the Reds earlier this postseason. But they get into deeper slumps than most Dodgers teams have been it, the slumps seem infectious. The Dodgers are deep in a slump right now, you can tell my their attitude. It kind of been happening since the phillies series excluding a couple games from Shohei mostly. The Blue Jays are an extremely explosive and hot team that is incredible. Since the dodgers starters aren’t throwing complete games every outing anymore the struggles are showing more. The best version of the Jays are destroying the worst version of the Dodgers right now. The Dodgers need one of the offense to wake up or the starters to dominate generationally to have a chance left in this series.

  6. Want to give a quick tip of the cap to my Dad. I just lost him last week to pancreatic cancer, and seeing the clip from Davis Schneider’s dad brought me to tears. My dad was at all my baseball games and was always my biggest supporter. I can still hear him cheering from the stands. He was only 58. We never know how much time we have. Just remember to love your Dads and enjoy every moment. Love you Dad.

  7. Toronto just looks like the better team man. I hope they pull this off even though I hate scherzer wins a World Series for every other team he plays for. Must be so cool seeing your team this close to a title

  8. The Dodgers have multiple HOF guys, and are in the World Series…they earned their place. They are a heck of a squad…

  9. Dodger had their slumps. They got roasted by the angels for 6 games lol. The jays have been more consistent offensively in the series and dodgers had a few bullpen blowups. That’s really the difference.

  10. I don't think the term "ambushing" automatically is something negative. Sounded like Snell was trying to explain what happened.

  11. As a dodgers fan I’ve already accepted our fate (losing either game 6 or 7 ) . Trev said it best , there’s no one they can go to in that bullpen that isn’t roki , there’s no vesia , no Scott , Evan Phillips went down , Brock Stewart was a bust trade deadline acquisition.

  12. Love the Blueclaws hat Chris, been seeing games in Lakewood since I was a kid lmao. Friend of mine got to see Ryan Howard. I saw Andrew Painter and Justin Crawford. Good times in Jersey man

  13. The number 1 reason jays are up 3-2 is because the ump saved the dodgers asses. It should be 4-1 series over.

  14. Jays fan in TO. So proud but not ready to celebrate yet. Yamamoto is intimidating as F*** and Scherzer in game 7 doesn't make me feel so confident, with all due respect of course.

  15. The Blue Jays look like they enjoy every second of baseball they get to play together. That alone can push a team way further than they are “supposed to”.

    One more boys!

  16. Feels like Trevor wants to cry because the dodgers are struggling. Thank you Chris Rose for keeping the Bluejays vibes positive!! This was def not Trevors best. I get he's human and just going thru a slump.

  17. Best pitching moment- Randy Johnson AZ Dbacks vs the Yanks. The big unit even came out on short rest to pitch!!

  18. Snell is acting like a chump with those comments, he shld be better than that.. shdlve never said that.. he's a great pitcher but I wldnt put him bac in there if there's a game 7 which I hope there isn't because that really favors the Dodgers

  19. I saw the video of Dave Roberts vs Hyeseong Kim running the bases. That will probably Chris Rose (Roberts) vs Alejandro Kirk (Kim).

  20. i dont think game 7 can go glasnow shohei sasaki. i think shohei would lose the dh spot if he comes in as a reliever. but even if that's not the case, it would be better to have him start and glasnow come in as the reliever. if you have shohei coming out of the pen, it limits your options. like if he's due up in the top of an inning then you cant really have him come in the bottom of the inning as there's not enough time to warmup unless the dodgers sustain a long rally after shohei registers the out.

  21. Blue Jays are passionate from top to bottom, from players and coaches, to families and fans.
Dodgers are like a group of spoiled millionaires.

  22. Chris and Trevor- Why not put Clayton Kershaw into game 6 if the proper situation presents itself, like a lefty-on-lefty matchup? Besides Roki, there doesn’t seem to be many trustworthy Dodgers bullpen pitchers right now. Why not pitch Kershaw in a “high leverage” game situation? Didn’t Clayton have a decent regular season?

  23. This podcast is loving shitting on the dodgers. Been doing it all year. Did it last year even after they won it all lol this company is a fucking joke

  24. The Dodgers scored 4 runs in game 1, 5 runs in game 2, 6 runs in game 3. They had 15 hits in game 3. They haven't hit for 2 games and all of a sudden they can't hit?

I mean, I hope that's the case because I'd love another game where the Dodgers don't hit and the Jays do, because it means the Jays win the series, but this narrative that the Dodgers can't hit is a cope. They ran into 2 pretty good pitchers, pitching really well, and just didn't give them anything TO hit. The Jays defence has been understated as well. If Barger doesn't lay out and catch that Ohtani liner it could be a completely different inning. Vladdy also made a stellar defensive play on Ohtani late in the game. And that clutch double play in the 7th.

The Jays just beat the Dodgers in games 4 and 5. That's it.

  25. dave stubbornness to adjust the lineup is baffling. These series showed they need someone to get on base when shohei gets to the plate. The jays always have someone on base when vladdy is at the plate

  26. As a Guardians fan, I can't watch this BS. Sorry fellas. LFG Dodgers. Beat Bieber, beat Gimenez, beat Straw, beat Ernie Clement. Dolans: If you can't afford to pay our players, then sell it to someone who will! That's right, sell the friggin team! Sell the team! Sell the team!

  27. It’s killed me how they’ve talked almost nothing about the Dodgers all series and they’ve gotten outplayed by the blue jays in every single game except for game 2. Blue jays deserve more credit

  28. The Dodgers absolutely rolled over their NL competition, and the AL is the much weaker division, and all the experts were saying after that, the Blue Jays do not have a chance, well, guess what, the Jays and the AL felt and played differently. Yeah, a lot of the stats in the AL did not look as good as the NL. Is that because the AL had to play in a lot more difficult league…. Just asking?
