show one of my favorite drills. It looks a little bit like that. So, you can see that I started in a different place. Now, this is a really good drill for players that struggle with their impact position. Maybe they don’t get the handle in front. They don’t compress the ball. They add too much loft. They flip at the ball as some people like to call it. Causes inconsistent direction. Loss of power. And general ball striking is inconsistent. So, for this drill, you saw I started in a different place. And this is really key to this drill. So, what we’re going to do is just do a normal back swing. Position four. We’re going to swing down to position six. Position six is when the shaft’s parallel to the ground. Notice how as I’m doing that, I’m shifting my weight to the left side, my lower body, creating a tilt to my shoulder. I’m not moving my whole body to using my lower body. Create a tilt. My hands are over the ball. Sha’s parallel to the ground. So, I’m feeling a lot of bend in this right wrist. One of the biggest issues I see players that struggle with their impact position is they get too wide on the down swing, lose power, struggle to get the handle in front at impact. So, I’m going to start at position six basically. Then from there, I’m going to take it, keep my weight left, swing up to left arm parallel, come down, shift my weight even more, arm straight into the finish. Now, just doing this with an eight iron, 8 NR’s good for this drill. Just do that again. So, normal back swing, stop at position six, really exaggerating the bend in my wrist, take it back a little bit, arm straight in the finish. Now, once I’ve practiced that a few times, this is like one of my favorite drills. What I’m going to do then is just try and get that same feel that I had in that drill with my normal swing. So, a time here should go around 150, I’m guessing. So, normal back swing, that same feeling into the down swing and into the finish.
