Hey guys, just picked up this used Titleist Vokey 56 Wedge. There’s some discoloration from mud on the face and light rusting on the bottom. I’m still pretty new to golf, so it doesn’t really affect my play, but wanted to know if anyone had any tips on cleaning rust/set-in mud stains. Appreciate any advice, thanks!

Make a paste of baking soda and water, spread it on the rust, let sit 30 min, then scrub gently.

After every round, give it a good wipe and groove brush to prevent this from happening again👍

Post results. Personally I dont think you are getting that off, but very curious what it looks like after cleaning.

You don’t do anything. The club is pretty much shot as far as the grooves. This is the carbon steel under the chrome. If you clean it , the rust will return. There’s no point in cleaning it. This is what happens when a wedge dies.

Pour a Coca-Cola can into a bucket and submerge the club for an hour then clean with soap and water it will look brand new

Look for a club repair shop. They should be able to clean up the mud and rust, sharpen the grooves, ensure shaft integrity, and regrip if needed. Or just have them do the things you’re not as comfortable with.

  7. Heard vinegar will get thd rust off too. But who knows

I’ve got the same club in the same condition lol. Amazing club while it lasted but I would recommend the SM10s. You’ll realize what you’ve been missing out on after using a such a worn-out wedge for so long

Get a groove sharpener off Amazon, get the grooves back open and clean and don’t do anything else. Thing will be a spin monster

What I usually do is complain to my wife until she buys me another club . Not unless I really like it then I let the club face only sit in a bowl of cola overnight , then lightly scrub it with a toothbrush and baking soda.
