A new video shows a fan throwing a beer towards Rory Maroyy’s wife, Erica. And today, we’re going to break it down, this brand new angle, and see exactly what’s happened. There’s also brand new statements from Rory himself. And a member of the well, how can I put this? Let me get this upright here because I I saw this. And the first announcer has quit after what she was trying to get the fans to do. Let’s firstly recap what happened. And fair play to team USA. What a performance on Sunday. Keegan Bradley’s men came out fighting and well and truly had me biting my fingernails. But the atmosphere all week was boiling over with the incidents like Bryson with Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose. There was little bits of nibble all week. The other ones where Rory got told the fan to absolutely f off. There was so many instances and I’ve heard from so many people inside the ropes that they’ve never seen atmosphere like it and I guess this was to be expected hosting a rider cup in a hostile environment and with that by Saturday there was extra security that was brought in. Now let’s go through the bear incident. A new angle from the crowd shows Rory and Erica walking when a drink comes flying from behind. It splashes onto Erica’s cap and shoulder. Rory notices it and looks back for a moment, but then turns on and keeps on moving as security quickly steps in. I think it’s safe to say Rory definitely wanted to get involved there. And I don’t blame him. Now, what’s really sneaky is that when you watch this footage back, it sort of gets underarm throwed and you can’t really see where it comes from, but it loops over what was the European fans onto Erica’s cap. Some people are saying the cup didn’t hit her. Others are saying it’s just a liquid. For me, it doesn’t really matter if it was the cup or the liquid. It’s the actual intention to throw what you would call in a football game a missile. That is what happened here. Okay. Now, you might think I’m blowing that out of proportion, but if you were at a football game, you would get ejected straight away. And we saw that on the Sunday. Rory, stand, turn, point, fan out. And as much as I want it to be slightly hostile, as much as I want there to be a bit of needle because we don’t have that engulf, there is a line that has been overstepped. This is the telling part. You can see Rory paws like he attempted to go back to the crowd. But he’s holds himself back. People also restrain him and that says a lot. He had the very reason to lose it and go off the boil completely and he didn’t. And I think that took I mean with everything that went on in the day with all the stress with all the rubbish and all the crap that had been had at him throughout the whole round I think that’s fair play. I’m trying not to give this just from a completely European perspective because I’m sure in the past the Americans have thought the fans towards team USA have been a little harsh but I don’t feel I’ve ever seen any point where they’ve stepped over the line like this. Now Rory instead carried on hugged Erica after the match and got on with his job. Now, if anybody has any other clips on this that are going around the internet, we have scoured and tried to find it. Being the breaking news outlet here on YouTube for golf, but what this incident doesn’t show exactly who throws it. It comes from the bottom right of the camera. I’ve seen some that are in sort of the crowd where it comes, but it comes from the bottom right of the camera. And the fact that it’s thrown under arm means it’s so hard to identify. Almost a little bit sneaky, right? But you know what it does show? It shows Rory made a decision to rise above all this and let his golf do the talking. And I think it did. And on Sunday, yesterday, I think he was just sort of in a situation whereas I’ve got nothing left to give. But he gave Scotty Sheffller one heck of a run. And I’m still can’t get over the result if I’m honest. Now, this is my opinion of what should happen next. At the very least, there should be more of an investigation into this to find out where that fan’s from, who that fan is, and never let them towards a golf tournament again. That is what would happen at a football event. That fan would never be allowed back in the grounds. At any point you agree with me or disagree, please do it down in the comments. And oh, this is a great point to remind you to subscribe and turn on the bell. That way, you always get notified when we release a breaking new story. And I’ve got two points I want to dive through here. Rory’s finally addressed the fan abuse. One was quite a funny interview um which I don’t think I want to say back on YouTube. Uh I’ll leave a sort of picture of it and we will put here on the side about when uh an interviewer said, “How did it feel to stick it close after being told to f off?” And uh yeah, it was quite a funny response. Now, this is Rory Maroy addressing the fan abuse. I don’t think we should ever accept that in golf. I think golf should be held to higher standards that was seen out there this week. Golf has the ability to unite people. Golf teaches you the very good life lessons and it teaches you etiquette. It teaches you how to play by the rules. It also teaches you how to respect people. Sometimes this week we didn’t see that. So no, this should not be what we should accept at the Ryder Cup. And my final piece right here is this element here. Rory Cup first announcer apologizes and quits after leading Rory Crash Chant directed at Rory. Now, it’s basically this. After saying, “F you, Rory. F you Rory.” At the first Team Mike before Saturday’s session, actress comedian Heather McCainan has stepped away from her role. Wow. I mean, that has gone a little too far. Not the fact that she stepped away, the fact that she was making those chants. My closing thought on this is that I think respect for Rory this week has gone up a level. The fact that he didn’t react too much and go into that crowd showed a level of self-restraint and a level of composure. Yes, there was some points throughout the round where he did boil over, give a few people the bird, but the amount of abuse that he suffered this week and the amount of abuse team Europe suffered this week, I’m soon so hard not to do this just from a Ryder Cup Europe standpoint, but I don’t think we can do it any other way. I think what a result. Closing comment right here. Golf won. What a Sunday. It was four out. The Americans brought it to team Europe and I have no fingernails left. It was that exciting. Guys, if you did enjoy this video, don’t forget to subscribe.

  1. I wasn’t biting my fingernails. The abuse and intimidation McIlroy had to deal with was outrageous! Then there’s intimidation of his wife. Europe winning was the least that should have occurred. The fact that members of the American team (including the caddies in this) joined with those members of the crowd was beyond belief. Some of those US scores should have been withdrawn/rescinded, because the US behaviour was intolerable.
Did the PGA seek the European team’s agreement to their change in payments? Such a change was, in effect, a change in rules for one side. It changes the whole nature of the event, as we saw. Are the Americans not motivated to win without a financial incentive? Is being beaten by the other side not sufficient? It seemed to take the appalling behaviour of some fans to get the Americans going! Was this all Trump’s fascist state in action? This was an attempt to affect the playing of the fixture by creating a bad atmosphere for the visitors. I feel that the USPGA needs to apologise officially and offer to cut their own score for the match by, say, two points. McIlroy deserves a personal apology from the PGA, too.

  2. Trump has turned America into the most hated nation. The American Ryder Cup team and fans added to this with the most undignified debacle professional golf has ever seen.

  3. You throw anything that hits my wife, I don't care what it is, we will have a problem. Rory's reaction is the best in the situation.

  4. Like at other sporting events there are numerous cameras around that area…… how they entire group wern't grabbed by cops immediatley and ousted just says the yanks just don't care! Everyone should remain deadly silent when the yanks names are called out when the arrive in Ireland, no boos, just deadly silence.

  5. Writing from Detroit USA. Under this administration, those that encourage this "Happy Gilmore" type of behavior the Olympics should be canceled in the US. The World cup should be canceled in the US. The world should not come here until trump is gone.

  6. It's a sad reflection upon USA, we basically are garbage when at a sport which requires quite respect. I've been to almost every PGA golf event , I'm done ,toooooo many people, I'm a golfer like to see good golf but PGA , Liv all about packing in people, masters same thing. Not fun being trampled by idiots.

  7. Disgusting behaviour by an absolute a-hole. There should be assault charges and fines as well as disallowing of any future such events in NY. But don't overlook how the PGA is complicit in this sick display of un-sportsmanlike behaviour.

  8. To Rory and his wife, I apologize for the idiots. Many of us are hoping the trump nightmare will be over soon so the maga crowd fades back into their caves.

  9. Please pass on the golfers of Europe group my apology, as an American , like many others this behavior is not to be accepted. My son has golfed since he was a toddler; the etiquette he learned is priceless. The atmosphere in the US has and is all bets off. No, they are not, thank you Rory and group for shocking some awake!

  10. All these effin' players – wives and girlfriends need to be blocked from live attendence to golf or tennis, or any pro sports games. Sitting or standing too close, too annoying – causing too many distractions and defaults.

  11. I have to disagree…. Golf did NOT win. Absolute disgrace, not the game that I grew up to love and respect. Not even in the third world country that I reside will you see such barbaric behaviour.

  12. What's going on in the US right now? Violence in golf. Mass shootings every day, churches, schools. Violence every where. Sad.

  13. As a Canadian, I was disgusted by the Americans who were making awful comments about the Europeans. Like one commentator said, this has shown what Trump has created with some Americans who believe in Trump. The ones involved should have been ejected from the game and never allowed in again. You praise each golfer for their ability to get the hard shots done not try to humiliate them.

  14. As an American, I am embarrassed. Irish fans, please be aware that not all Americans react in this manner. There are plenty of us that are still respectful of others! 💖

  15. As an American, I can say I'm disappointed but not surprised. The fish rots from the head and I've seen a steady coarsening of the country as well as a celebration of a worrying ideal of masculinity over intelligence.

  16. Golf fan threw a can of beer at the hat of Rory McIlroy's wife.
Announcer was cheering "Fck you Rory McIlroy!" to get the American crowd cheering the same chant.

    That's what I've seen online, I didn't watch it.
