Welcome to Scratch at 50, the YouTube channel built for golfers who want to lower their handicap using the power of psychology — not swing tips.
I’m Craig, a scratch golfer who’s learned that golf is 90% mental. Every week, I’ll share the mindset tools, focus techniques, and on-course strategies that helped me sharpen my game — all designed to help you:
✅ Control emotions under pressure
✅ Stay confident after bad shots
✅ Build consistency through mental clarity
✅ Learn how scratch golfers really think
No fluff. No swing theories. Just real psychology, real experience, and real results.
If you’re serious about improving your golf without overhauling your swing — hit subscribe and start playing with a scratch mindset today.

If you want to lower your handicap, improve your golf, and get the best golf psychology advice on YouTube, then you need to watch this video. I started the Scratch at 50 channel about 3 years ago, and it’s gone on to become something that I never envisioned it would. Over 15,000 subscribers and over 4 million views. And I thank you all for that support. But in recent times, the channel’s got a bit messy. I’m going to explain how that’s happened and how I’m going to put it right. Always said I’d never use a yellow ball, but in the winter it just makes sense. Okay, just a little nudge down the right hand side. That’s exactly where that’s gone. Swinging it well at the moment. kind of gutted that the season’s just ended. I’m very aware that the success of the channel was largely built on my golf psychology videos. That’s the foundation of the success of the channel. Now, this year, due to time restraints as being very busy in my day job, I just didn’t have the time to do as many videos as I wanted to. So I started to post as you would have noticed if you are a subscriber to the channel some golf press conferences from the professional golf events and that turned out to be very successful in raising the amount of views that were on the channel. But the whole thing became very messy. So I’ve decided to split the channels up so you can go and get your golf psychology advice in one place all the time with no other distractions. So, I’m a big fan of just using a half set in the winter. It means that my bags really like to carry and it means that, you know, rather than just coming out and just hitting shots in the winter, you have to get a little bit creative. You have to take little half shots or maybe hit one out the back of your stance to get a bit of extra sort of distance. So, I think that playing a half set through winter is actually a really good thing. Uh, but as it happens, I’ve got a good number here for my 52. So, this should be just a nice stock 52. That looks awfully good. Just left of the pin, but I don’t know, probably 15 20 ft. My day job is actually building brands in the cycling industry and I’m now going to turn that expertise into trying to build the Scratch at 50 brand on YouTube. And that means I’m going to have to make some changes. So this my main channel that you’re watching this on now, you may have noticed has recently been changed to Scratch at 50 press conferences. This channel will continue to put all of as much news, interviews, press conferences from the professional golf world as possible. But what about all you people out there who came for the golf psychology videos? Well, now there is Scratch at 50 Psychology, which is a new channel which you can now go to on this link in the corner or tap the link in the description. Please go there now and subscribe if you want to continue to get expert golf psychology advice and improve your golf and lower your handicap next year. So two really solid golf shots have got me in with a great chance for birdie. Now admittedly winter has started. The greens have just been punched holotine however you call them which wherever you are in the world. So, the greens aren’t great, but they’re actually running better than they look. So, I think this is going to come a little bit from the left. Oh, I’ve not hit it. Ah, they’re still they’re just slow at this time of year. You got to remember to hit them. Still very solid par. Right. So, over on the new Scratch at 50 psychology channel, which you on those links that I mentioned earlier, you can go and watch the first three videos that I ever posted. Those videos have had well over a quarter of a million views and have helped hundreds of golfers lower their handicap and ultimately enjoy their golf more. You can go over and have a refresh or watch those videos for the first time on the new channel right now. Subsequently, from this day forward, every single psychology video that I’ve ever posted is going to be reposted on that channel. As long as as well as new content. So, if you go over there now and subscribe, then you will never miss out on a really crucial, helpful, informative golf psychology video that’s going to help you improve at golf. Also excitingly, I’m going to have a third channel coming next year, which is going to be following my journey into and during my senior golf career. Next year, I turn 55, which means I’m going to be able to enter some of the biggest senior golf events in the UK and hopefully over in the US. On this new channel, Under the Scratch of 50 brand, I’m going to document that journey, all the highs, the lows, the practice, what I’m working on, what I’m doing well at, what I’m struggling with, also record some of my competition rounds. You will be able to follow that whole journey, and that will be on a third channel that’ll be coming in 2026. So, once again, I’m asking for your help. Please, if you’ve enjoyed and have found my golf psychology videos on this channel to have helped you in the past, then please go and subscribe to the new channel of which I’ll put the link up again now because you will get more great psychology advice to help you improve your golf moving forward. And you will get nothing but unfiltered golf psychology advice on that channel. It will not be muddied by any other content. It will be 100% golf psychology advice from me and from other experts in the field. It’s going to be some great content and you want to make sure that you don’t miss out on that by going over there to subscribe and hit that notification bell.
