Kai Trump, the 18-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump, will be in the spotlight on Nov. 13. That’s because she’ll make her LPGA Tour debut.
It was revealed on Tuesday that Trump received a sponsor exemption to compete in The Annika at Pelican Golf Club. That news shocked golf fans around the country considering she’s ranked No. 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings. As you’d imagine, the president’s granddaughter is amped up for this opportunity.

“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour,” Trump said in a release. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”
Ricki Lasky, the chief tour business and operations officer at the LPGA, defended Trump’s inclusion in The Annika.
“Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans,” Lasky said, via The Associated Press. “We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey.”

Is Kai Trump worthy of this opportunity?
Golf fans have been debating if Kai legitimately deserves to compete on the LPGA Tour.
On Tuesday night, a social media user posted this message on X: “Kai Trump came in last at +58 in a Junior tournament. DEI is back!”
It’s worth noting there’s no record of Trump shooting 58-over par at a tournament. She did, however, finish 52-over at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley earlier this year. Obviously, that’s not where she wants to be on the leaderboard.

On the flip side, Trump’s granddaughter shot 11-over in July during a South Florida PGA event at Lost City Golf Club.
Only time will tell if Trump can defy the odds at Pelican Golf Club.
