The President of the United States is taking heat on social media for his golf trip decision amid the U.S. Government shutdown.
The U.S. Government remains shut down, as more than 750,000 employees are furloughed. However, President Trump has continued his normal routine – which includes golf trips to his courses in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Florida.
“Ballroom, golf and trips,” the AP wrote.
“Trump is on a six-day swing through Asia, after a recent, whirlwind Middle East visit. He hosted a White House fundraiser for major donors to his $300 million ballroom that has seen construction crews tear down the East Wing, and held another fundraiser at his Florida estate.”
Trump’s decision to continue playing golf, and traveling around the world, is different than what happened in 2018, when the U.S. Government was shut down. President Trump cut out golf and canceled a planned trip to Florida for Christmas.
The White House, though, is continuing to maintain that President Trump is working hard.
“President Trump is continuing to work night and day on behalf of American people,” said White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson. “The entire administration, including the president, will continue highlighting the workers and families who are suffering because of the Democrats’ decision to shut down the government.”

President Trump’s family gets big golf news
Kai Trump, the 18-year-old granddaughter of President Trump, has received an invite to play at an LPGA Tour event next month.
The University of Miami commit will be playing in The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in Florida, from Nov. 10 to Nov. 16.
“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour, and I am thrilled to be able to compete at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in November,” said Kai Trump. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”
