MADISON, Wis.
–The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its women’s golf awards for the 2025 season.
University of Wisconsin-Stout’s Julia Imai received Kwik Trip Player of the Year honors for the second straight year and UW-Eau Claire’s Tally Schlindwein secured Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year accolades.
The All-Conference Team was determined by using a combination of the WIAC Championship results (50 percent) and the SCOREBOARD Powered by Clippd Regional Rankings (50 percent) distributed on Oct. 22. A player must have completed a minimum of eight rounds in order to be considered for selection to the All-Conference Team and Player of the Year, while a minimum of six rounds were needed to qualify for Newcomer of the Year.
Imai is the third individual in conference history to receive the distinction in back-to-back years, joining UW-Eau Claire’s Maggie Loney (2024 and 2025) and UW-Stevens Point’s Jessica Urban (2008 and 2009). She added Newcomer of the Year honors a season ago. Imai owned a 74.71 stroke average this fall and claimed medalist honors at the WIAC championship. She also won the Wartburg College (Iowa) Fall Invitational and tied for first at the Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) D3 Classic. Imai was second at the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational and tied for second at the Golfweek October Classic.
Schlindwein is the first individual in program history to claim the newcomer distinction. A newcomer is defined as a student-athlete who used her first season of participation in women’s golf this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn’t participate in women’s golf at their previous institution. Schlindwein tied for seventh at the WIAC championship, and placed sixth at the UW-Eau Claire Georgianni Invitational and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) D3Classic.
