damn that [ __ ] sounds hard as if I’m on my own I’ll throw on a 8 or 10 lb weight vest and I’ll head out for a probably a 75 minute to a 90minut slow jog the weighted vest is a [ __ ] huge Fitness benefits make sure that if you’re using weighted vests for jogging that you’ve jogged for a little while with your own body weight adding weight to your jogging can put a little bit of acute stress on the joints it’s really good for you in the long term but in the short term it be much and also it makes having to try when you don’t have the vest on so much easier it’s crazy it’s like Dragon Ball Z training with increased gravity

  1. It's not particularly good for running since it changes the mechanics. It's been pretty well studied and it doesn't improve running performance. You could certainly get fitter using one, but you could just as easily do that by running further/faster. Walking is a whole other story and rucking/walking with weight could be super beneficial.

  2. I am a 38yr female. I use one on the burn fat setting on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Its 30lbs. Today was day 2…will see how it goes. Its tough for sure 🥵

  3. The only issue I have with these, and it does not matter which one u choose, they bounce on the return, which is why I support the weight by holding them during my run. They’re good for small vigorous movements

  4. I was walking 8-9 miles on Saturdays and Sundays for a month to kind of get my legs used to the long distance.
then i packed a backpack with 15lbs in a backpack and walked the same distance on the same days for another month.

i switched to vest because the weight on my back the walk harder than it needed to be. so the vest balances the weight and makes it easier to push to the 9 mile mark every time.
I'm up to 30lbs in the vest. I need to get my average time to compare it to a no weight walk to see the benefits

  5. Thinking of getting one, been running for around 18 months now, finally at half marathon distance. Also I have no weights, so I’m thinking it would be good for strength training those calf muscles.

  6. No lie doc ive have the weight3d vest in rotation that past few months and im telling you the strengrh gains i got in the last 2 weeks was dramatic

  7. I go for a 1-1.5hr walk every other day with a 40lbs vest. In the beginning I’d barely be able to get home, not it feels fairly light. Looking for a 60lbs vest.

  8. I hate running or jogging. But someone suggested Rucking to me but walking with a weighted vest. Which I’ve been enjoying. Thoughts on that?
Ps. Love your content and advice.

  9. I just started wearing a 20 lb vest on my runs this week, I can't run more than an 8th of a mile with it on. I've honestly just been walking with it all week

  10. Would you suggest this is something to incorporate into your routine over the long run, even with historically bad knees? I just watched your video on kneesovertoesguy and you mention to not shy away from injurious positions and exercises, so I think I know the answer, but thought someone might be able to answer this specifically.

  11. I'm 75 and have been wearing a weight vest for 4 months, walking up hills and stuff and gradually increasing the weight once a month. Now I wear it around the house and to the gym. 10% of my body weight right now. Love it.

  12. Ive been walking with a 40 pound vest i walk forward and backward at my park its all lifted cement i wanna buy a 80 pounder that would really push me i take collagen and a galloon on water in the park i try n keep my protein high but a 40 pound vest is good a 80 tho would really make it a good workout

  13. got a 44 lb and 66 lb vest that I often use when i'm out walking the dog or light jogging. It's a nice way to loose weight and get ripped

  14. been using a weighted backpack not vest for a few weeks now im at 40lbs and walking has felt kinda easy with the weight i walk 8-14k steps 4 days a week but once i achieve like 60-80lbs im going to running and start with 10lbs

  15. I dont recommend it for jogging at all. The motion of jogging is already stressful for knees. I used to be 350 lbs and tore my knee cause jogging with a ton of weight fked my knees. Now sprinting is another story. If you use constant momentum and good form to push forward rather than up and down, THEN id say do it. Might still be bad but hey, sprinter legs.
