Can I Break Par From the Front Tees?!
Today I am going to be trying to break 30 here in America. The good news is I’m not going to be off the back TE’s. I’m going to be playing from here, the front TE’s. 2,250 yards at a standard club. Par 36. Let’s see if we can do it. So, breaking 30 is going to be a little bit tough, but luckily, like I say, par 36 measuring under 2,500 yds. We’ve got par fives that are under 400 yards. We’ve got par threes that are under 100 yards and some par fours that I think I should be able to reach in one shot. For instance, this one here, the first hole 267 yards downhill. The only issue is a slight fur tree in the way, but if I can get one just cutting around, we can have ourselves an eagle put. Comment down below. Do you think we can do it? What do you think the score will be? And if you haven’t, if you are an American follower here for the first time, hit that subscribe button for us. Let’s go. We’re going to go with 3wood. Let’s knock it out of the green. I reckon I shoot 30 or 31. It’s a par 36. So four or 500 I’d be happy with, but that isn’t the challenge. I’ve changed to a sevenwood to get it over these trees. And I’m just going to go for it. I just want tractor Joe to get out the way on the green. Can see the flag. Hole in one. It’s up there. Maybe front left corner of the green or just shy. Wasn’t my best strike, but it’s definitely an easy accessible little chip. I’m the proud owner of the world’s biggest ball marker. It’s actually a bag tag, but it’s got the foundry, Mazuno’s uh location here. It’s also got Matt Fryer on the back. Could also eat a small sushi roll off here. Right, we have found the green. We’ve got a long old way up to the flag, but it can be done. It’s about a 25 yard put with about 10t of break in it from left to right. It’s dead straight. Dead straight. Well, this won’t be the uh ideal start, will it? I tell you what, that was, like I say, probably a good 25, 30 yards. Pretty much bob on length. Line was just out. Steps it. Steps it. That one’s for you, America. That one is for you. Remember, hit that subscribe button if you’ve not already and you are an American fan. We’re over here. We’re taking in the culture. had Taco Bell today. Just inspirational stuff to be honest with you. Nice little birdie there to start. We’re riding in the uh the mizzy car again today. We got a few videos from here at Standard Club. Got some matches. We’ve done a break par here and in the red, I should say. And then we’re also heading down to TPC Sugarloaf. We’re actually doing a lot of content for the new uh product launch for 2026. So, not loads of um playing stuff, but uh it’s been quite a good trip thus far. America, I think we’re going to have to come back maybe by the end of the year and get some matches lined up. So, in the comments, maybe tag a few of your favorite um creators. Let’s see if we can maybe get lined up with some matches as well later on in the year. Right, we are now on to our second hole, which is actually the third hole of the day. They’re relaying a little bit of the front of the green on the second. Making some nice improvements to it. So, we’re going to skip that one, which is a shame because it was a 400 yard par five, but we substituted the 12th in, which again is another par five. So, that will be our final hole of the day. So, if you’ve not seen the uh in the red yet, is a quite a cool par five. But this one, the third hole now, 256 to the front, 280 to the back. Pin looks like it’s in the middle. So, I’m going 3wood. Hopefully get this up on cuz the ball travels about 20 yards more out here cuz there’s actual heat instead of blighty where we are now fighting off ice. Three-wood up the right. Let’s see what we can do. We’ve already got one in the tank. Call it a little out the bottom. Kick left for me. It’s going to be like pin high front of the green. So, it’s not going to be too difficult of a pitch. So, up and down needed. See what we can do. I was a bob on with that pin high front of the green. We’ve got a bit of green to work with. What I do like about pitching out here is that the ball actually grips like heck on these greens as well normally, but we are on a slight down slope. So, we will have help here. I’ve only got 17 up to the front and 33 to the middle, 47 back. So, land it maybe a couple of feet on and let it zoom down. Ideally, get this in tight for a tap in would be lovely. That’s That’s if we don’t hold it. It won’t grip if you get it that low. That’s the only thing. Bit fiery. Didn’t quite get the face open enough under that one. Right. Feel like I’ve lost a shot there. Not what we wanted here. Hit it too low out of that lie. Was difficult to get height, but a little putt here would do down the hill. Not much break in it. Pushed the life out of that. But a par’s a par. We’re still one under. We need to shoot seven under to break 30. So we’ve got seven holes to go and then need six more. Yeah, it’s doable. 275 is our third hole of the day. A par four, but it’s straight back into the draft. I don’t know where this wind’s come from from all of a sudden. Didn’t realize we were in Tennessee. Windy state, I believe. Not sure if that’s right, Connor. Right. Wrong. I’m I’m not sure. I think I think there’s generally wind everywhere. Okay, cool. Um Chicago, the windy city. Yeah, that’s one. That’s one. That’s the one I would use. There we go. Cameraman’s an intelligent old geyzer. uh driver just knock it on hopefully and just make up the lost ground there. I feel a two would be lovely but I feel also quite quite exceptional here. Let’s see what we can do then. Needs to cut a bit. Could get a good favorable kick. Must have just got stuck in that bowl at the bottom of the front of the green. Let’s try to slide it. I got like the starting line right, but just didn’t get the fade. It’s pretty much so near the front of the green. So, a better chip and a better putt. And we’re off. Actually pitched up there. So, it’s not really got much run on that, but let’s see. Just a nice little soft chip here. Land it a couple on and just let it just let it just dribble its way to the hole. Ooh, baloney. That was a little bit quicker down that hill than one one thought. Nearly went in for the eagle though. Little puddle solve it though. Right, we’ve got it lined up. I got a bit of a look. It looked up and right to left as we went, but could really do with holding something for once. Go on. I didn’t think that was going to get there. I did not think that was going to get there. That was the beauty of actually watching the ball go by the hole there. Normal old me snap the wedge, turn around and discuss and throw it. New me, watch actually what happens. Learn something. Right. Two under through three. Having played the course once already. Now I feel like 31 I said I would shoot. I don’t want to be negative but I feel like 33 which would be three under. I’m two now. I can’t remember if there’s more par fours. This the big thing is getting the the par fours like drivable. Got a couple of par fives to come. Next is a tough par four. So got to got to get through the next three at least at least one under if not two. Just walking off that green there. I’ve got a little confused in my mind. I’m still playing it off the back TE’s, which was 406 yards for this hole that we’re about to play now. As where now that we’re pegging it up, we’re probably 70 yards from where my drive went yesterday and it’s only 230. I had about 180 into the green here yesterday. So, yeah, it’s a different thing. So, I should actually I should get down. And this is probably a good thing to try and teach me to get making some more birdies as well and be a bit more aggressive. So, let’s keep going. See what we can do. Our fourth hole today. 231 yards. Takes out all the trouble here, these bunkers. And it is green light straight to the flag. The wind’s into off the right. So, dead aim because it looks middle that flag. And just I had this in my mind. I was like, “Oh, we’re playing back there, which is another 170 yards.” So, I hopefully should should make bird here, given that I could knock it on past the flag. Cut a bit. Cut a bit. Might get the green side trap. That there’s about 15 yards left of the flag. flat. Not too bad. Just need a favorable bounce. Right, just come through the back of the green. So, three-wood was too much, but I had seven and I don’t think seven would have got there. But, we’re pitching back onto a down slope and then it rises up 40 yards. Just a 58. Should be pretty basic. Just got to commit through this grass. It’s very spongy. Break. Break. Break. Break. Break. Break. That’ll get it done. Right. Reckon we got about 4 feet maybe? Well, yeah. 4T birdie tra. Time to tidy up, Matthew. Time to tidy up your good chipping work. Finally. Looks like I just had to come to America to start hauling putts. Fast greens is what I like. Just set the ball rolling and it drops in. Right, next hole. In my mind, it’s 205 yards downhill into wind. It’s actually only 84 yards today. So, it’s a completely different scenario for me. Little pitch. Maybe pitch it in. Maybe pitch it in. 77 yards. That’s like a perfect uh 54 as well to chest swing. 75 that is. But we are going downhill ever so slightly. So downhill a tad into win. Just a 54 arm swing. Little pull back off the slope. American styly. Put some old English on there in the hole. Probably going to make a three. Right. This is what this is what we came to America for. This is what we did. We came. We saw. We conquered. 77 yards. One good pitch. It’s an up and down. That’s all I’ve got to tell myself. It’s an up and down. Swing it to there. Swing it through. Wonder what to average would be from this distance. They must be like six foot. Pulled it a tiny bit, but it could hit the slope and spin. Right. I was well happy with the distance. I just pulled it. But we’ve got a chance up the hill. About 12 15 foot I reckon. I like that. Left to right up the hill. One ball out the left. Let’s Let’s do the good work. Pushed it. That was a hole that we needed to we needed to make some hay on there and we did not do that. hit a nicest wedge in but was low and sloppy. Good news is we got a par five that’s under 400 yards next. So eagle eagle’s the cry 380 this one is playing. It’s downhill and then raises up to the green. There is a bunker at 315. We are downwind though so I mean that is in play but ideally just get it somewhere up the left get it bouncing wedge on hole a pot is the is the idea is what we want to be working with here and then we’re we’re all good from there. If I smoke one I reckon I could get on. Maybe not. Maybe not. Who knows? Let’s see though. Let’s see what the smoke show is offering today. I’ve leaked it right just at that rough bit next to the little poles where you would get the buggy. That wasn’t good. I never lose this driver left. So, I don’t know why I don’t just aim left and try and cut everything. Foolish boy. Done well there. Luckily, it’s a little bit soft and I hit the ups slope. So, we’re 81 yards away. Push, slice. 300 yards down the hill. 81. I feel like we go 54. Play the same shot as we did on the par three down the hill, but just add a little bit more oomph into it. A little bit more hit and a tiny bit more length. Feel it’s here to there. Need to get this in close ideally. Might be a tad big, but I clipped it so off the green. Air nailed it. Air nailed the green. I hit that too much. Oh well. Oh well. We can uh chip in. Chip in and a putt and we’ll be okay. Where did it pitch? I wish I would have known there was a bit more room right of the flag there. I also wish I wouldn’t have hit it 10 yards too big. Right, little bumpy shot with a 58. And just watch it trickle up. Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit. It’s okay. Not bad. Little bit flatter than I wanted. I wanted to pop it, but it had a lot of grab on it, which was okay. So, straight back up the hill, 6 foot. That is normally my bread and butter. So, we’ll just hold it and get out of here. Good news is we saw it go by the hole again. So, we saw the break. Needed all of the hole to get that one in. But we did. We did. It’s a bird. Feels like a par that to be honest with you. 380. And I was struggling with the sixfooter for four. But we got it going. Okay, let’s keep it going. Come on. Righty righty righty. Another short par three. 94 yds. She’s playing 54°. It’s pretty much straight back into it. So, it’s probably playing the best part of a hund and it’s slightly downhill. So, 100 yards. Got a little back stop behind it. Let’s just try and get it in close here. Stuff it to 3 foot would be my best result. I think the actual result I reckon will be 15T left. Let’s see. 15 foot 15t left. Just like we said, little pull. Just need to get the face a little bit more open there. Oh, well, it’s a little bit more than 15 ft up here. We pitched somewhere up here, just off the green, I actually think it pitched and then ran itself back down. Just got to make sure I get that face a little bit more open. Hey ho. Three balls from the left. This one need to make it. But it’s a a tricky old number. Tricky old boy to knock on this. Break. Break. Break. Break. I thought that was perfect. It was right inside the spot I wanted it to be. Par two pars on par threes ain’t going to break 30. We’ve got two holes to go. A four and a five. We need to finish birdie eagle to get it done. Who thinks we can? I know you’re with me. America. Team America. Let’s go straight down. It’s a blind one. This it’s 280. I’ve got too much club. It’s 280, but it’s uh it’s straight down wind, so driver would would leave me in a sticky sit out here. So, we’re going to get the 3-wood, whack it onto the green birdie, and then hopefully have a look at Eagle on the last hole. That is what we need. It’s what we’re working with. Come on. I’ve pushed it a bit, but it might be right edge of the green. Maybe just off. Who knows? Chipping a pot. I think it’s going to be Need to get those chipping skills going. Right, we got over the hill. The pin’s tight, right? Can’t see my ball though. But there is a big hollow to the right of the green lovely clubhouse here at the standard. If you are uh ever this way and have the opportunity to play, come and have a game cuz it is absolutely fantastic here. And big big thank you to those guys for having us out this week. It’s been been an honor. And we’re only here Oh, there we are. That’s going to be a tricky ship. We got to go over the grass in all. Yeah, it’s been it’s been a real joy coming out here thus far. I will definitely be going beyond the flag if I hit the green and somehow if I do manage to create more spin than I would do with a full seven iron or a full pitching wedge, it might stop short. But I’ve got to just send it up here. Send it very much up. Let’s see what we can do. Am I brave enough to hit the Phil? The Phil Mickey. Oh, that could be in. That could be in. Has he gone in? Lipped out. I think it’s finished like a foot right of the hole, but it was left and the green runs that way. So, that was that was Mickey. Eat your heart out. Another reason why the new Mazuno wedge will probably be named after me. Was that close to going in? Did it lip out? I said, “Oh shit.” Look where it’s pitched. Those new MF1 wedges from Mizuno. Those things are crazy, son. 7 ft up the hill. This is where it all falls down. The putters won’t be named after me. I nearly missed the heel of the putter there. That was just awful. That was awful. After that chip, I go and follow it up with basically a shank with the putter. We now need to make a two on a par five. Well, folks, a two is needed. And we find ourselves here on the 12th, which is our final hole, our ninth hole. It’s 376 yards and it’s a par five. Now the green is actually sort of straight through these trees off the back tea back there. You actually wouldn’t hit a driver. You probably hit three-wood with like a a cut just hugging the corner because it’s a 90° dog leg from there. Here I’m really going to have to skirt these trees and I’m going to have to slice the underpants off it to get it anywhere near the fairway. But luckily my big miss is a push fade. So, I’m just going to do that and get it on there. And I should should have a flick and a look at maybe getting close for a three, which I think would be acceptable. 30. Oh, didn’t do it. We need another American Bryson to do those things cuz you can’t win the rider cup. Ooh, burn. That is so good. I felt like Bubba Watson in his prime then, minus the pink driver and the wavy hair. But it was slicing like that. I think that moved as much as his wedge Augusta. It’s cuz we’re only an hour away. That’s why I’ve done it. Right. 90 yards. Now that was like a three. Was it 387 to 300 yard slice? 90 yards. Come on. Come on. Matt Eagle Town. Watch that club face on this one. Just feel it. Soft elbow. Shout out my man Alex. Let’s get it in close over the pin and scr it in be the right number. I hope it hasn’t spun cuz it was pitching. Guess it’s about six foot. See that athletic jump then? It’s just gummy to can’t get my normal normal takeoff. Six foot for an eagle. For glory. What would an eagle get me to? It’s 30. 30. Wow. I think I might make a petition to the Lancaster PGA. See if we could uh play comps off the forward te’s at courses that are 2,00. The only issue is that the likes of Paul Caner and the other lads and Tim Ford and those boys, they’ll shoot 26 on courses like that. So, I’d still be nowhere in there. Sadly, no gators around here, but we got them turtles. Just trying me hardest here to catch a little bit of tan. His mates are swimming down here as well. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, people of America. Get your damn pitch marks. Will you respect the greens? Anyway, I’ve hit it to six foot. That six under is looking a bit looking a little bit tame here to be honest with you. This is going to respect all my attention. Not respect require. Come on then. No. I knew it was low when I hit it out the toe again and I’ve raced it by. Well, that prediction of 31 was right. Five underpar. We didn’t break 30. Something else I haven’t succeeded in this year. Another goal I’ve not completed. But I had a whale of a time, guys. Why not watch me in an actual medal round off the back tease here to see if I can actually do any better?

Hope you do it but im gonna say no
Go grab a 29, Matt!
Micah Morris or Grant Horvat for a match?
A record breaker with Peter Finch would be great. @matt fryer do you have an old driver to give away if you are shooting with mizuno for the 2026 product line?😊
Great effort Matt
Matt vs George Bryan… I think could be an equal match
Great stuff Matt
From the front tees? You better do it or you take a month off from content creation and practice, practice, get help, see the sports psychologist, lose 10 pounds and pray.
Chicago is not called the windy city because its really windy, its called the windy city because the politicians are long winded or full of hot air.(like to talk alot)
Tour average from 100 yards is 20 feet so probably around 15 feet from 75 to 80 yds.
I've been subscribed to Matt's channel for a few years now, and I can't say exactly why, Mizuno obviously helped, but some of the best content has been in the last 6 months. Keep up to good work
I don't know what is worse, Matty's eagle impression, turtle impression or his American accent> The sound of him (trying) to screech like an Eagle will haunt me forever. 😆
How about going to spud run?
Predict 32
I'm guessing 32..sorry Matt😂
Freddy Kruger, is that YOU in the thumbnail?
5 UNDER par?????? my goodness me. Matt over acheaved. Good Lord. Usually its blah blah blah blah 3 OVER. Good job ginger.
Seen similar content on the Bryan Bros channel about 2 years ago and I said the same “ the score doesn’t count when you have a 230 yard par 4. We all know in golf , that’s a par 3. What next “ can I break 30 on a 9 hole crazy golf “
My guess: 31
Closer and closer
Just started to watch. I think you're going to crumble and cry like normal.
