ARDEN, N.C. – Charlotte Women’s Golf completed their fall season on Tuesday (Oct. 28) with a second-place finish (596, +20) at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in the French Broad Collegiate Invitational, hosted by UNC Asheville. The Cliffs at Walnut Cove opened in 2005 and was designed by Jack Nicklaus. This private golf course is the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Pinky Chaisilprungruang brought home her fourth individual title as a Charlotte 49er, turning in a card of 139 (-5) to win by three strokes. This was Pinky’s 10th top five finish in her career. Emma Heyman (146, +2) and Ting Uang (149, +5) both finished inside the top five as well to help fuel Charlotte to the second place team finish behind Clemson (578, +2).

COACH’S CORNER

“We knew coming into this week that weather would be a challenge,” said Head Coach C.C. McMahan. “The uncertainty of rain can present challenges both physically and mentally on the course but our team responded well to that. Despite the slow start in round one, we bounced back today and got off to a strong start to set the tone today. The second-place finish to complete the fall season is solid. Having three players finish inside the top five speaks to the depth we have been able to create with the team. Four players this fall have an individual top five finish, and we are proud of that. This will give us a confidence boost as we begin to prepare for the spring season.
