Zach Bauchou withdrew in 2023 due to his wife being in labor, killing his PGA Tour dreams. But he didn’t give up and 2 years later, he earned his card.

It was the biggest opportunity of his career, the chance to punch his ticket to the PGA Tour. So why do you withdraw? This is the PGA Tour’s newest player, Zack Bosshu. And two years ago, things were not that way. Two years ago, Bshu did something truly remarkable. In the final stage of PJ Tour qualifying, with his spot on the big tour firmly within view, he withdrew, ending his PJ tour dream for at least another year. The reason was a pretty good one. The birth of his first child. He was born on Friday and I I withdrew Thursday when my wife went into labor. His son James who announced his arrival to the world five weeks early and in the middle of Bshu’s opening round at the final qualifying. We had talked about um having a plan in case he did come early. Um and we had talked that and agreed that I would withdraw and if something did happen. Bou did the right thing that day. He pulled out of the event and flew home to be with his family. But his pro golf dreams darkened as a result. Over the next 2 years, Bshu’s grind continued. He missed out on the PGA Tour by three spots in 2024 and then played the best season of his life in 2025, even earning an emotional spot in the US Open. Something you’ve always want or I’ve always wanted to do my whole life is playing the US Open. Uh, who’s the first person you call after this interview? Uh, probably my wife. But it still wasn’t enough to secure a dream. Not until this weekend. On Sunday at the Cornferry Tour Championship, Bshu officially punched his PGA Tour card, ending an eight-year run through golf’s minor leagues. This time, there was no opening round drama and no thought of a WD. Just a pro who never stopped believing and his family, which this time was there to cheer him on.
