If you’ve been reading my reviews for a while now, you know that I’m a sucker for golf shoes that look like they should be on top of a skateboard. The adidas Gazelle Golf is another keeper if this is your favorite genre of golf shoe as well.

There are definitely fewer bells and whistles when it comes to the technology utilized for the adidas Gazelle Golf, but they’re perfect for the casual cart golfer.

In my personal opinion, there’s a sentiment in the golf shoe game that is growing more and more popular. In fact, for a large portion of golfers, I’d say it’s a requirement. Golf shoes NEED to be hybrid if you’re hoping to gain a new generation of golfers.

I played basketball growing up and I have extremely fond memories bringing my Kobes to my games and putting them on just before warm-ups. It was a sin to let those shoes touch concrete.

Those days have passed and, on the golf course specifically, being hybrid is a must. The product team at adidas knows this and that’s why the Gazelle Golf is a hit.

Let’s head to the first tee!

Fit

Aside from how difficult it was to get the adidas Gazelle Golf on my feet, I felt like the fit was perfect. I wore my normal 11.5 and the fit was perfect once they were on my feet. I’ll share more later to help support this, but the shoe is fairly stiff and the fit felt tight during the on/off phase of wearing the adidas Gazelle Golf.

If you have wide feet, this probably isn’t the shoe for you. The adidas Gazelle Golf isn’t super narrow, but it’s definitely not wide and there’s not a wide option listed on adidas’ website. If you hate having to put in extra effort when putting on or taking off your golf shoes, the adidas Gazelle Golf isn’t for you.

If this doesn’t bother you and you have average sized feet, don’t let the fit deter you and order your normal size.

Traction

The adidas Gazelle Golf features a rubberized traction pattern on the bottom of the shoe with rubber nubs that are all pretty close to the same size. These nubs are nothing to write home about, but will get the job done in warmer, drier climates.

When you throw some water or even some dewy grass into the equation, the traction control is reduced. This is normal for the majority of spikeless golf shoes with a few exceptions.

The adidas Gazelle Golf was great in the bunker, on the tee box, and around the green with the only real downside being its water resistance. It isn’t even necessarily bad. There are just much better options with spikes.

If you’re in a dry climate, fire away. If you consistently fight the elements, pick an option with spikes.

Support

I can’t say that I was all that impressed with the support and stability of the adidas Gazelle Golf.

The Gazelle Golf is EXTREMELY stiff. When I say extremely stiff, I mean cardboard stiff. I wasn’t impressed at all but I’d guess that adidas purposely traded support for aesthetics here. The tongue is thin and provided little to no support for the top of my foot. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen the tongue of a golf shoe be thinner.

The adidas Golf team has done a stellar job with stability with some of the other shoes that I’ve tested such as the Tour360 24 and the Codechaos 25, but the Gazelle Golf is catered much more towards the aesthetic market instead of the high performance category.

Again, the performance and feel weren’t bad by any means, but there are much better options if you’re looking for additional stability on the course.

Comfort

There is a EVA midsole housed within the adidas Gazelle Golf that provides the bulk of the comfort within the shoe, but adidas is pretty vague about what you’re actually getting here. Upon further inspection, it’s just  basic EVA cushioning housed inside a rubber cupsole. Nothing all that special.

If you’re someone that likes adding custom orthotics to your shoes, you should be able to rip the insole out (it’s in there pretty good so have a hair dryer at the ready to help loosen the glue).

I’ve spent somewhere close to 40+ hours with the Gazelle Golf on foot on and off the course and didn’t ever feel that much fatigue. But just like with the sections above, the comfort is average.

At the end of the day, you have to pick your next golf shoe based on the factors that are the most important to you. If having an aesthetically pleasing golf shoe is a priority, the Gazelle Golf should be too. If you’re looking for unmatched comfort and performance, go grab one of the options that I mentioned above such as the Codechaos 25 or the Tour360 24.

adidas Gazelle Golf Summary

I was very unimpressed with how difficult it was to take the shoe off. If I play 18 holes of golf and it takes me 4.5 hours, I don’t want to spend additional time yanking my golf shoes off of my feet. I want those shoes to come off easily and let me rest. It was a chore to take the Gazelle Golf off after my mediocre rounds.

Outside of that, the adidas Gazelle Golf is a bit too stiff for me. I didn’t feel stabilized and I had to put up with minimal comfort. It was fine for the rounds where I played cart golf and did less walking, but it was rough when I had to walk more than usual. I’m a big aesthetic buyer so I was able to look past the average comfort, traction, and support, but the on/off issues were too much to look past.

At the end of the day, the adidas Gazelle Golf is a solid option for those motivated by style. To all of my golfers searching for precision, this isn’t it. Look elsewhere and spend your money on a bona fide contender.
