24 handicap to scratch golfer in 365 days – day 23 #golf #golfchallenge #day23
Is it possible to become a scratch golfer from a 24 handicap in just one year? 23 days ago, my wife told me I could stop working and pursue this dream full-time if I get 100,000 followers. But today marked a big milestone. I finally got a lesson. I went in thinking we’d be tackling my shallow back swing issues headon. But it turns out my weight distribution was way more off than I thought. I’m basically stiff as a board with terrible spine alignment during the back swing. Alan had me work on loosening up, turning my shoulders and hips properly, and basically not crunching myself into a pretzel every time I take the club back. By the end of the session, you could literally see the difference. My swing was smoother. It feels way easier on my back, and I was actually rotating the right way instead of folding myself in half. So, we end day 23 on a 20.8 8 handicap.

love this
Yay!! I've been commenting that since Day 21 – so happy to see you rotating what a difference! 🌀
Smoother swing and easier in the back LOVE THAT! Now swing speed can start to build more naturally, and remember that if you start to feel tight or in pain again it's your body telling you it's wrong 💪
Go get em!
Good luck I followed like 2 weeks ago
If you do it I’ll be doing this next year 😂
Good seeing some fluidity to your movement, you stand a chance of making it, keep up the lessons. If you have to make grip changes, make them early on in your recalibrating, it makes it easier in the long run.
Thats the reason for lession: Self diagnose and yt comment diagnose can be right, but most of the time they are not what you should be working on, and you just spend too much time on. Keep up with the lessions if you want to have any chance 👍
Now this is progress you need to get a many lessons from this guy as you can afford!
Big milestone, love to hear it
If you put a ball behind the boy, you’re trying to hit and push the ball backwards and set up a bucket behind the ball and trying to push the ball into the bucket then going up into your back swing. This helps to make your swing come over the top a bit more.
the first postive thing you have done so far…
In short, NO. The short game improvement alone would need a full year of focus.
Added a subscription, hope it helps. You should put a proper shout out for the pro to advertise his services. It might get you a discount on future lessons. What is the name of the pro actually?
Bro, good luck with that. I have played every day for multiple hours a day, i went through 3 different coaches, and 1 academy during 3 years, i only made it to a 2.8
The first year is easy, getting down to 5 hcp isnt hard. Get a decent swing, stop losing balls, and have a good short game. But to go from 5 to 0 is extremely hard.
I took 50 hours of lesson with a National Team Head Coach. We were working on my swing all the time. And a lot of time and money has been invested in this…
You will need a lesson every week with a guy that probably costs you 200 bucks if in the US, about 100 if in europe. You need a great guy. A local pro isnt gonna make you a scratch golfer.
Lessons twice a week – Monday and Thursday. Full practice during the week + go play around on the course, just a few holes a day, no need to play a full 9 or 18. And on weekends you go on the course 18 holes. To focus on keeping up the pressure and effort on 18 holes. Playing 9 isnt enough.
And also play as many tournaments as possible, preferably 3 day WAGR events.
No
I don't think this is possible for you but the challenge isn't interesting if it's not extremely difficult so I'm looking forward to watching the journey.
No it isn’t. I’m sorry.
