Want longer, straighter shots? Start with your feet. Driver versus wedge. Stance width changes the physics. Wider feet increase your base of support that stabilizes your center of mass during big turns. With driver, the arc is long and fast. More speed means more torque pulling you off balance. Solution: Go wider. Heels about shoulder to outside shoulder. You’ll resist sway and keep the face squarer. Wedges are different. Shorter arc, smaller speed, narrow to athletic, just inside shoulder width. This promotes pressure shift control and crisp low point. Think ground reaction forces. Push, rotate, then post. Too wide, you’ll stall hips and chunk. Too narrow with driver, you’ll wobble and spray. Quick drill, set stance, clap hands, breathe, rehearse tempo. Three swings, feel centered, then strike. Safety tip, unlock knees, spine tall, not rigid. Ball position tracks shaft length longer forward shorter middle to back. Driver off lead heel wide stance irons middle athletic wedges slightly back narrower tune both stance width and ball position by club.
